Is there any possible way to port that BlurHome.apk in the Droid X dump to the Motorola Droid, I couldn't find it in the forums.

There is a way by most likely porting the whole build over. But I'm waiting for the droid2 to come out which is supposed to have ninjablur running on froyo. It should be a very easy port since it's basically an upgraded droid from what I've heard.
Ok, great. thanks for the reply.

so, now that the droid 2 is out, r u working on a rom?
if I may interject, that may be hard due to the locked bootloader, but stranger things have happened, though I do wonder what you find desirable in blur. Not meant to be rude, it's just that launcher pro payed has awsome homescreen widgets for social networks, and to my knowlede one of the main reasons people root is to rid their phones of forced upon software like blur. Though if it's really uninvasive, I guess I could see how that could be usefull. (oh, btw hardware changes all the time, just because its the droid 2, don't automatically think its an easy port to throw onto the D1) Did you know the Htc Incredible was originally supposed to have 8 gigs of rom, and, I believe like 2 gigs of ram, too. Though you see how that played out, slap the droid label on anything and you can sell about half the actual device to people at the same price, but I digress. Basically, if you really, really want this ported, make some developer friends online, ask nicely on the forums, or, you know, become a rom chef.
I'm a verizon subscriber, with a droid eris, I can upgrade in March and this seem like the device I want to get my hands on. One thing I've been searching for and cannot seem to find is, is this stock android, very close to stock, or motoblur
Thanks for your help!
Unfortunately it will be running Motoblur. As far as I know there is only one phone on Verizon that runs stock Android: the original Motorola Droid. I have no idea why phone companies insist on mutating Android and making it worse with their crappy skins and proprietary apps. It angers me soo much. If I get the Bionic the first thing I will do is root it and install a stock Android ROM (if one exists). I hate Motoblur/Sense/whatever is running on LG and Samsung phones.
So it'll probably be similar to the version running on the Droid X then. That's decent. As long as it's not as intrusive as Devour's Blur. hahaha
And I hear you on that one, I have the Eris, thank goodness it's running Stock 2.2.1 instead of Sense 2.1, cause even though sense is the best skin out there, it's still full of bloatware and slows it down
Actually, it'll be running a new version of blur, or maybe they're not even going to call it blur. All I know is it's definitely not stock Android. From the videos I've seen, it actually looks very nice and isn't overwhelming. I prefer blur to sense, but stock Android to anything. Just search youtube for Motorola Bionic, there are plenty of videos out there of the interface in motion.
its motoblur sadly but apparently its a modified version that makes it more stock and less blur which is nice..the att atrix gets the full unmodified version of blur which is gonna suck

I would shoot for an HTC Thunderbolt with an AOSP ROM/Kernel.
Beamed from my DroidX
From what I've heard, it's running an updated version of Blur. It's supposedly much improved over even the Blur found on the D2/X. I've always preferred DroidBlur to Sense though, myself.
There's always the option of rooting and going stock though, so I wouldn't let Blur discourage you.

So... A buddy of mine at work got a replacement OG Droid because his was having issues, he asked me to root it and ended up giving me his old one. The far right side of the screen is unresponsive to touch in portrait (and the top in landscape with keyboard open) and it is a bit old but it still stays stable at 1000mhz+ so far on the ChevyNo1 kernels. Now, I don't plan on activating it as my main phone because of a few of the underlying issues the phone currently has (and the fact that I'm currently working on ROMs for my main phone, the LG Ally), but I would love to have an extra android device around the house/at work to play with and use via wifi.
I guess what I'm asking is, what cool things should I do to it/with it? And can you guys recommend some good ROMs/kernels for me to play around with? I don't really care if they are Gingerbread or Froyo, I just want to go crazy flashing ROMs on this thing since I won't really care if I brick it
Thanks a bunch in advance
Hand it to some developer so he can try new 'dangerous' features
Hi guys, I just wanted to know if anyone released the OTA 4.4 Sense rom (not the 4.4 GPE) for international version of our phone yet that is already pre-rooted. I prefer pre-rooted roms as honestly I could not root my One for some reason. Also I don't wanna mess with connecting my phone to my laptop as the USB ports are loose as a goose and it's hard to get them to detect when I plug something in (lol I can make soooo many jokes right now about this!)
And please, before anyone recommends I try out the other 4.4 roms...I really don't need anything more than what the stock rom offers (or do I) but honestly I'm not that interested in custom roms anymore. I'm tired of things not working, etc. Besides, when the stock rom is this good I don't really need any more
Thanks to anyone that can point me in the right direction, and if the question has been asked already I apologize as I'm at work and limited myself to 10 minutes of googling for searching. I'm on break and the other 45 minutes left are reserved for lunch and pooping (I poop on company time, the man makes a dollar and I make a dime - to paraphrase someone)
Was wondering how hard it would be to port it to our device if there are not much differences
I really hope some wonderful devs port Lollipop G3 ROM to our Device.

same here we definitely have a lack of support for our device
We can all become devs if our time allows.. I myself almost complie a cm11 til i find out there is some coding myself to make it work because is unofficial, but little by little im getting to the point that i feel i can contribute to the community, like i said is can be hard if you let it be.. There is alot info, forums and help from google and even cm itself... To start with i mean you have to have some knowledge and never giving up, at least is working for me

i hear you i tried a bunch of guides but i cant seem to pinpoint where im going wrong plus with the g3 leak of android 5 i wouldn't know where to start there are significant differences such as hardware and key components that need to be striped and customized to work with our device. for that we need the experience of a of senior lvl dev

I'm gonna help everyone out here. The G3 leak will not make it to our device. All the apps are made to work on that 2k even (i.e all the apps have huge images) every app would have to be decompiled individually and resized to fit our screen. Then they would have to be modded (depends on what needed done) to work on our phone. Way to much work and possibly not even possible with kernel, etc that would need done.
As for support unfortunately we dont have many devs due to just not being a popular device and the locked down boot loader. We lost D-FUSE and justinwidebody to the G3, we do have playfulgod who's okay (definitely joking) and i know mattwheat is working on some stuff. When i get time I'm going to get back to working on my g3 themed ROM (some apps already ported by another user just need tweaked), but sadly I'm far from a dev so I won't be much help with big problems like cm11.
I do recommend everyone just jumping in and doing what they can. I started with small theme changes moved to small mods following guides and eventually released my first ROM in the note 2. You really can learn and we'll need all the help we can plus most people here are pretty helpful if you get stuck.

Definitely hear you loud and clear that's was my first assumption but how would it be possible for the g2 to receive a complete port of the ROM from the G3 that cloudfy came out with the g2 has Noway near a the same specs as the g3. That's something that I thought about but even with that said wouldn't it still be possible to exclude the lg apps and just push out everything that is non compatible for our device. But I am still doing some research and learning along the way don't want to release anything until I have a full understanding of what I'm actually doing.

Looking at Cloudys threads i think it's their stock g2 ROM with the g3 apps ported. I'm saying that because all his ports use the same kernel. If it was really 3 different base ROMs that wouldn't work. I could be confused though and completely wrong. If that's the case then that's what I'm working in for us (or will if i ever get time. It won't be to the level of perfection his it's though. One thing to keep mind if that it's the case is its really hard to port apps from a higher version of android. I never said a full port was impossible, just that i highly doubt it happens. I'm pretty sure playfulgod isn't going to do it. I know I'm not even going to try. Not sure about matt or if there's adev hiding in the wings who may give it a go.

Is anybody here who can port G3 rom to G Flex?? anybody help us.
Kintwofan is right. If you're gonna port it needs to be a like brand, like resolution, like CPU / GPU. Makes it so much easier. Decompiling then recompiling and not finding out till its to late that something had an error when recompiling or when signing can be a ***** to find and or recover from late in the game. Or to find out all together that your hours on hours of hard work was for nothing. The g2 is more on our "like" side.

Plus if you're just wanting lollipop apks on your phone. Most google apks have already updated and if not you can always download the 5.0 gapps extract and replace some don't work but most do. I've done it and use the google launcher. Almost has an aosp feel.

Its easier to port g3 Roms to g2 due to all the the screen size (res folders). Going to our device with lower resolution and bigger screen seems like a lot of work. It would be much easier I think to get the android 5.0 SDK images and build aosp from source or wait on cm-12

Cool sounds like a good place to start but even if we do build a asop ROM wouldn't we need a base to get everything working
