[Q] Quetion regarding Heat issues for the Veterans.. - LG Revolution

Hi everyone..
I was wondering, is it possible for an app to overheat and eventually fry your battery and/or phone?
Last week I posted a that my phone died and Hicks responded that my battery died and tha I needed a new one.
Went to the Verizon store, got a new battery, plugged into the charger and within 20 minutes that too got fried as well. So it was the phone.
At the time the first incident happened, I was plugged into the car charger while running the WiFi hotspot for rooted phones. I've done this before with no problems for the past 5 or so months.
Is it a simple matter that my phone simply just died? or is it possible that an app can cause this issue? Thoughts?
They overnighted me a replacement Revo (thankfully NOT updated to ZV8) and would like to root and use the WiFi hotspot once again, but am concerned now.

HTC Diamond - Dead?

Well, it was working yesterday and then this morning - nothing.
It doesn't turn on or anything, I've got two batteries - original one and a 1800mhz one. I use the 1800mhz one. I left the phone to charge overnight under my pillow(as I do everynight) but woke up this morning to find that it was completely dead. I haven't done any ROM updates in about 6 months, so can't see if it's anything to do with software. Only thing I can say is strange is the fact that when I plugged the phone in to charge two days ago it came up askin me if I wanted it to be with Active Sync or a Storage drive. I have it set so it goes with the Active Sync and not to ask me again.
But I've done what all the other people with the same problem as me have done and removed battery and sim card and just use the wall charge/USB for about 20-30 minutes, but it still doesn't turn on.
I've tried all the hard resets and soft resets, obviously that won't work.
Any solutions? I've just received an email from HTC sayin that it needs a repair.. but wanted to see if there's anything else I can do before I send it away.

I guess you noticed that while charging the phone gets quite hot. So why are you keeping it under a pillow so the heat can't spread?
I think that HTC is right and and the device needs some hardware repair.

Well I've done that since day one and it makes no sense that it randomly just died this one night.

Weird G1 Problems

So I haven't used my G1 for about 2 years. I recently broke my LG G2X (dropped it at the river) so I started to use my G1 again.
It blows my mind how far Android has came in 2 years...
So anyways, I rooted my phone, running Gingerbread on it and all of that fun stuff.
Two weeks have past and so far nothing was wrong with it but one day my battery drains and then that is when all the problem starts.
It seems the battery wouldn't hold a charge so I bought a new phone off of craigslist ($35 G1) and used the battery on it.
The phone now holds a charge but my phone keeps unrooting itself and I have to re-login to all of my accounts.
Also sometimes when my phone dies the the bootloader screen comes up and it says no image file so I have to reflash it.
I have to do this so often its ridiculous and it seems like the phone only works well when it is charged up to something. What is causing the phone to reset itself?
THANKS GUYS!

[Q] Battery problem

Hello people,
I got a really bad problem with my battery. It discharges whilst it's connected to the charger during minimal use (just whatsapp). Either that or when I don't use it, it always dangles around a certain percentage and doesn't really charge. I have another problem, the phone will constantly say that the charger connected or disconnected. I assume there is something wrong with the charging cable or the usb port. But the thing is, I have the problem aswell when I tried to charge it with the charging dock, so it couldn't be the usb port right? So the problem had to be with the battery, right? I had these problems before so one week ago I brought it to my provider store who sent it to Sony, it came back today and when I got home and tried to charge it, I had these problems again. The funny thing is, when I got my phone back the store showed me the repair paper that Sony sent along, on the paper stood: "GPS was fixed''. Although nothing was ever wrong with my GPS. But it didn't say anything about the battery. So did Sony make a mistake here? Or is the phone just busted or what? I'm quite desperate. The problems only started recently, about 4 to 6 weeks ago. Do any of you guys know what it could be? I don't wanna lose my phone for another time and be stuck with my iPhone replacement which I got lying around at home. I hate iPhone
tl;dr: battery busted, discharging while charging, please help.

Phone won't turn on

Earlier today my device froze and randomly shut off during use while at 70-ish% battery. Since then I haven't been able to turn it on even just to the bootloader (the device won't turn on whatsoever). I've also tried USB charging through my PC, my wireless charger, and the charger that came with my device to no avail. It's not water damaged as the indicator shows nothing and I haven't dropped it. If anyone has any idea on what the issue would be or how to fix it I would be very thankful.

Same exact issue with mine. Mine was around 9% and went black and will do nothing now. I'm waiting for a replacement now. I'm assuming it's a battery failure.
I was searching around and came across an older thread on here with someone that had the issue as well. They RMA'd their phone and the motherboard & battery were replaced.
This happened to me. I just sent it to motorola they replaced it with another

Mi 9 hard bricked - could it have been cased by a battery malfunction?

Hey guys! My MI9 is dead since yesterday. On the morning it started randomly rebooting. This issues occured more frequently throughout the day and eventually I was not able to turn my phone on. I opened it and disconnected some parts, connected them again etc. After some time, I was able to turn it on. It turned itself off after few minutes though. About an hour later (8.00 PM) I was able to reboot it again and placed it on a wireless charger. For 4 hours it was working with no shutdowns. About midnight, I took it off the charger. After few minutes it died and I was not able to turn it off again since then. It is hard bricked Can a hard brick be caused by battery malfunction?.
I am wondering what is the likely cause of this situation. The issue was evolving in a weird way. Do you think that it could be caused by a battery malfunction? I had this idea after finding out that the phone was working quite normally while connected to the charger.
Now the phone is not working at all, whether connected to the charger or not, no matter if the battery is connected or disconnected to the motherboard.
So, do you think that this hard brick could be caused by a faulty battery, or is it just broken motherboard?
i have the same problem my friend.. and i dont know if the problem is battery or motherboard!
