Hey Guys,
I'm selling my nook color in absolutely perfect condition for $250. It comes with a 4gb micro sd memory card, about 50 books (harry potter, lord of the rings, etc), a form fitting silicone case ($25 at Barnes n Noble) and it is ROOTED! The nook comes complete in box with all the original accessories, manuals, everything! I'm Paypal verified and have 495 feedback on eBay with 100% positive feedback. PM me if you're interested. I know I just made my account and everything and that I don't have a rep here, but I assure you I know what I'm doing. I'm sad to see it go, but the car is more important right now.
Thanks!
I don't wanna sound like a jerk here, but I don't know if using "it's rooted," as a selling point works when posting on XDA. If they've made it far enough to see your post, they've likely already figured out how to root their prospective Nooks. Just saying.

I know both this guy and nook in real life, both are legit.

Hi guys,
I have become very interested in the Nook Color to root and use as a normal tablet as well as ebook. Unfortunately in the UK they are hard to get hold of and much more expensive than in the US.
The cheapest I can get hold of one is off eBay for £200 inc £30 for delivery but our good old customs will probably add a fair bit to that too. Or £250 at Purely Gadgets. This is way more than the $250 it costs in the US.
So my question is... Is the Nook Color worth £250 (about $400) or do you think I'd be better off looking at other tablets around the £200 price range?
I'm looking for 7" , capacitive screen. Decent processor for Angry Birds etc. Rootable.
Thanks for your help, advice and opinions!
Cheers
Wag
I found a guy on ebay who sold me mine for £201 inc delivery and wrote clearly on the customs label that it was a gift (it was - it was my birthday prezzie).
It's easily worth that assuming you're going to root it but be aware that you'll need to use hotspot shield or similar VPN app on your PC to register with B&N.
i'm looking for a cheap tableet, and a guy said he could sell me one for $75. shoould i get it? i'll ptobably only use for web browsing and some light gaming via emulators. also, i'm not sure if it is a nook color. does anyone know how to tell the difference? thanks.

I have a similar question and thought I'd ask here instead of contributing to the clutter by starting a meaningless new topic.
So here goes - I'm looking for a cheap car, and a guy said he could sell me one for $750. Should I get it? I'll probably only use it for driving around town and some light racing down the street. Also, I'm not sure if it is a Ferrari. Does anyone know how to tell the difference? Thanks.

real sweetheart with the sarcasm there
nook color's a nice and easy cheap tablet for light web browsing, reading ebooks and playing games. Look at pictures via Google to know if what your getting is a nook color; pretty obvious.
Make sure it's a NC and not the normal Nook. If it's really the NC, $75 is amazing.

If it's an actual working Nook Color for $75, I'd say thats a deal to jump on as soon as you can, I know I would. Just as said above, make sure it's working, and make sure it's an actual Nook Color because that sounds like it's towards the low end of what the regular nook is going for used.
"towards the low end"?! $75 is a LOT cheaper than I've seen reliably working Nook Colors offered for. I'm with those who suspect that the item for sale is the Nook ereader, not the Nook Color. It's easy to distinguish a Nook from a Nook Color, as others have suggested. Unless I could put this item through some rigorous testing I'd be very wary of buying an item that's currently offered through retail channels for 2/3 off list price.

Based on the amount of energy he put into his response, I'd say he's been working on it.
thanks guys. the guy said the text area is black and white, but the book selection area is color, so im assuming its a nook color? and he said theres a small cosmetic crack, but i plan to test when we meet anyway.

That's not a Nook Color, that's a regular Nook. The Nook Color is 100% color LCD and there is no separate book selection area.

If this is in the wrong place...sorry! Just found what i consider to be a great deal on a refurbished nook color. Overstock has them for $199! With this coupon code 207397, it brings it to $185 shipped. Enjoy!
thanks for the tip... looking to get this for my mom.
I went to my local Walmart today and noticed something when I passed the electronics section all the Nook Colors were gone. Now I was at this same Walmart a few days ago and there were plenty in the case. I used Walmart.com to check in-store availability of the Nook Color and almost every Walmart on the list showed Limited Stock or Out of Stock statuses. Either someone went around buying up all the Nook Colors or Walmart its clearing their stock in anticipation of a new product possibly from B&N. I don't know about you but I'm more inclined to think it's the latter. Though I could be completely wrong and they just decided to stop selling Nook Colors.
PS: Walmart.com is now selling refurbished Nook Colors for $150.00, definitely an unbeatable price for a good tablet.

I got my Color Nook off of Ebay. It was a refurbished Nook sold directly by B&N. It cost $149 plus shipping.
My local Walmart has about 50+ Nook Colors stacked up, all for $249 still

The ones sold by B&N on eBay have free shipping. There is a credible third-party also selling them for you're price though.

[UPDATE]
Reports are going around that B&N are going to have a major announcement on Nov. 7.
