X1 Chef's Develop & Share Center

Not a big deal this thread, its not a protest agains any "recent happenings"
I just wish to start a (mainly) X1 development place where we (developers and chefs for x1) can help eachother out.
Im am soon to share all my kitchen packages, inlcuding my kitchen (some trix im keeping, but not packages or files) and I hope thats a direction we all can go.. but I will respect those who dont agree, and I I hope those who decide to work with me on this, wont judge those who dont want to either.
Also I would like that when we get stuff from this thread, we give credits to those who contributed to solve the problems.
I will ofcourse kick in help on other ppls projects if I am able...

Packages from Rhodium
All is setup for Bepes Platformrebuilder, so if you use another kitchen, then theese wont work, you will have to convert to standard oem packages.
I have to much work on my hands to convert them, so I hope those who do convert to standard packages, will upload them here.

my roms aint protected so feel free to use all files..

I want to share my Manila OEM package. This package is about 1000 files smaller than the common version and has a patched ManilaToday.dll (thx fireball2k) which almost solves the right softkey bug. It makes your rom cleaner and you have some mb more space. It´s working only on WWE rom versions.

hi all,
I recently bought myself an X1, and want to start cooking
i develope hardware and sofware for a living.
To become a chef, I first need to know some basics. is there any good wiki where de structure is explained?

Maybe someone can help me to get the HTC Fingermenu to run. This my current package status, it doesn´t work for me.

I´ve managed to get the dialer working except some links and the conferrence call

I can unfortunatly not share the dialer package at the moment, I promised that I would not share it just yet, if not.. I would not have gotten it...
But, its not the dialer I recieved wich "worked out of the box" because mine package works with rc2 also. So there are more to it then just release the packages, I need to figure out what makes this stuff "tick" before I release the packages I made myself.
I am gonna share the stuff I got, but I cant share what I got from my source...I hope you guys understand this...
Ofcourse I can share my old packages, but they dont work the correct way yet...
I know that many thinks that why cant I just release them and say its my fixed ones?..but that would not be fair to my friends who shared their work with me
If I was to release them now, it would be nice for all im sure, but then I would cut of a tie to a friend, and I would also loose a good developer that can help out if I need assistance in future projects...
I feel a bit sad that I cant upload it just yet, but I will do what I can to give you guys good packages to work with.

dont look in the dialer package, you need more packages from topaz that is not rebuild with regsettings from blackstone...you need the correct settings, and some dll's, but, read my previous post on this

I can fully understand your arguments. But I´m more interested in getting the Fingermenu working. May you help me there? I´ve attached the oem package for that in the previous post I guess there is a package, file or whatever to get this working are you allowed to release the secret just for the fingermenu? Any little advise

I will look into it, there are some basic files that is needed by most of the new stuff, so I will check it and have a look
edit, you are missing most of the files...or you might have them in other packages..and regsettings are under 50% of what is needed..for now I can say wich files, but you need to look for the regsettings yourself (sorry cant do better right now)

I had those myself in my package, but I didnt have all the correct regsettings...

Ok thanks, and as you know im working on the 6.5 release right now, and i got the dialer to work on boot, but when resetting or restart it wont work anymore, and as you said ill guess half the regsettings are missing as the menu thingi wont work proper either. its a damn shame...
by the way, my 6.5 package will be released puplic as i wont protect it. it mush faster with new touchflo than the old 6.1 -go figure, damn micrsh...
but ill respect you and your source (i wont meantion his name here)
but how long do you think before release? i really need it for my 6.5 release... if i cant get it to work myself, i think i got all the files needed, maybe a few missing.

Question about wifi tether and Rom

okay I'm a newbie at all of this but I managed to root my hero thanks to regaw for the epic work, and to a few members who helped me with other issues
enough of that, I really didn't root for roms or themes, just for wi-fi tether.
My question is I'm running rooted sprint .5 update with the stock sprint rom.
can someone point me to a stable wifi tether release @ their website? the one I have gives me frequent disconnects ;(
The other question is I tried to install darch's 2.7 rom(just to see what all the fuss about them roms was about,which I so far like ) but i had to revert to stock because I was @ work and I would like to know how can I install the android market.
I downloaded the google ****s and got the marketupdater.apk and youtube.apk uploaded to my dropbox account but when I downloaded them to the phone they would not install after selecting them from the browser's downloads section

Flashable FontPacks?

Hi guys - I created a thread over in the EVO section where I'm collecting fonts and throwing them into flashable fontpacks and I was wondering if they work on the Hero also. I've attached the most popular one - could someone try flashing this and let me know if it works for you? Back up first, just in case. Thanks.

Just wanted to let you know about this Maybe it's not worth making since this tool is already around?
EDIT: Just checked your zip and it'll work if you did the renaming correctly! There are 2 u-some-numbers files in there though and I don't know what they are but as they do not replace anything they will not do anything.

Thanks - it was originally renamed to work on the Evo - I didn't change anything here, just wanted to see if the file would work as is. In hindsight, I don't know why I thought it would.
I knew about that tool, but it doesn't really help if you don't have a computer around. I originally put a few of these together because a friend of mine couldn't figure out typefresh, but that's about the extent of my abilities .

if anyone hits my thread in the evo section (link in my sig), the fonts in the latest update should work for you guys, and I'm working on coverting the older fonts also. I don't have a Hero, and I'm still kinda new at this, so let me know if you have any issues. No guarentees I'll be able to make it work, but I'll try.

Great work fachadick ! I can confirm I have tried about 5 different ones and they all work a treat and are really easy to install, much easier than messing around with Typefresh which is what I used to do.

[Q] No Market on Hero

I don't know anything about phones so please bear with me.
I just had to wipe my phone and put a new rom on it. But the market app isn't there and I can't find where to download the app on the forums here. I tried doing searches for it and still can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What rom are you using??? And you might want to do a search for something called Google apps or gapps or gapps/midi. Usually were ever you found your rom it will be a link somewere on that thread for the google add on. Which give you the google market,gmal,car home and a few others depending on which one you decided to use. Once you aquire the zip file just boot into recovery and flash them. Good luck.

Questions about theming

Hopefully some great themers here can help me in the right direction.
I've already spent some times reading about how to decompile, compile etc.
the one i tried is TMA (tickle my android), first i got several problems because he wouldn't decompile framework-res. I've found out that you need to install the semc....-res file before you can decompile framework-res and the other way the same.
so that's working great now, and it also recompiles and i can make a flashable zip but i keeps getting in bootloop.
i've found out that there's something special about sony's framework-res and these problems can happen but i can't seem to find the right way for the Xperia T to solve this problem.
could someone tell me how or direct me to guides that are suitable for the Xperia T?

If i was being funny, i would have told you to use the search function at the top of the page.
When your navigating through your phone it can be quite difficult to search, find and post links for people. Id rather just post a whole load of links in one go as it's quicker and easier.
I didnt have to respond to you, im busy repairing fridges and took a quick break, maybe i shouldnt have bothered. Or maybe i just wont respond anymore and keep what i know to myself.

After that you can do anything you want in your framework, wether theming or modding.

thank you both, i took me some time and errors but i've finally got it working.
first i tried with stock framework to learn the decompiling/compiling signing process and it worked.
now i'm trying e few mods, my first one doesn't work (50% transparent statusbar), i did this mod thru TMA (which has this mod as option).
maybe google it and make the mod myself..
hmm second one doesn't work either, i looked thru google on how to remove the statusbar clock. it all went well(recompiling and flashing) but the clock is still there..
