FM Radio - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my new Galaxy note. And I cant find the FM radio app that
is suppose to be on this phone. What am I missing?
It is suppose to be a international unlocked version, but I see a lot of ATT apps on the phone.

I'd check the ROM version, and consider upgrading/flashing the latest e.g. official version

In case you did Flash a ICS-Rom you won´t find any Radio App.
You could try Spirit FM. It´s the only ICS-App that works.
But it´s not easy to configure and it´s not guarantied that you will get it to work.
Might Google for working settings in that app.

Does your phone have a big hardware home button with a capacitive button on either side; or does it just have four light-up capacitive buttons under the screen?

As far as I know, the Galaxy Note I717, doesn't really have an FM Radio build on the device....
you might be better off getting the international version if you want to have the FM radio right off the bat....

what is your phone model written on the box? GT-N7000 ?

There are supposed to be ZERO at&t apps on a genuine international note. You've been had. The best sign is as stated that the N7000 has physical buttons and not simulated, onscreen ones.

My Diamond is a bit different

Today when i was just casually going through a review, i found out that my HTC Diamond is a bit different compared to others. Mine doesn't have a camera on the front like others are having :s

^ See mine has no hole on the right side. Its just plain :s
I got my Diamond from India with bill, can anyone else confirm that even they don't have the second camera ?
You probably have the indian variety without 3G, and thus no use for the front camera. Well you can use it for other things than video calls, but that's the main reason for the front cam.
either that or you have the north american CDMA version
like this one ?
yeah. I don't have the second cam. I can imagine disabling 3G with Indian Rom but removing the camera is stupid imo
I got mine on craigslist.org for 360.00 us sprint model. it has no front video call camera nor does it have fm which I also read in a review but for 360 and the fact I never made a video call it does not bother me. The only thing I hate is all the Sprint branding and crapware!

even if you install the fm radio cab, the radio still won't work, cause HTC didn't put the radion tuner in the sprint version, or most of the cdma variants for that matter.
Now, if you have a US GSM version, you can install the radio cab to make it work, and it also doesn't have front facing cam too...

[Q] Why this Galaxy S had a flashlight for camera ? Is it i9000 ?

I saw this picture from Anandtech, here is the address :
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4059/nexus-s-and-android-23-review-gingerbread-for-the-holidays
This galaxy is has a flash ! I am wondering is it i9000 ?
Anyone know the answer ? Thanks.
The one on the right looks to be a Nexus S.
The one on the left looks to be some other kind of S. It's NOT the I9000 as that's the standard bugger you see with no flash.
Could be a knockoff, could be a "similar" phone with an odd back.
It's not an SGS2 either.
The one of the left seems to be a knock off. The only galaxy s variant with an LED flash is sprint's Epic 4G with a slide-out qwerty keyboard
EDIT: it is another galaxy s variant with LED flash called: Galaxy S Fascinate

the question is, does the i9000 has wiring for led flash or is it completely different board?

Probably a different board judging from the sound speaker's position. mine's the international and it's placed next to the camera on top, not on the bottom.
But that by itself doesn't prevent it from having flash wiring.

[Q] P1000 AT&T which ICS uses hardware nav keys and working BT?

Like the title says, I have an AT&T P1000. Awhile ago I flashed and have been running Overcome 4.1.0 so obviously I have CW Recovery.
1. What do I need to do to flash an ICS or higher ROM?
2. Which ICS or higher ROM uses the hardware buttons on the bottom INSTEAD of soft keys on the screen? I know the HTC One X comes with ICS and uses hardware buttons instead of softkeys.
Basically this Overcome installation's BT doesn't work all that well, sometimes it sees devices, sometimes not. Also I'd like to be able to use Chrome browser so ICS and up makes more sense. Looking for something lean, mean, and trouble-free as much as possible (especially BT). Using my GT in my car with Torque app an OBD2 BT adapter so need RELIABLE BT.
Thanks in advance, I hope someone can point me in the right direction... I've never been all that good at this stuff.
If on overcome, you can try redpill kernel. It is compatible with overcome ROM.
Its BT might be better.
If flashing ICS or JB from cwm, just download the ROM and gapps and flash.
But you need to flash the ROM a few times, as each times it does different things. Watch the output message, you will know what it does.
I am on AOKP JB.
I can turn off soft button anytime.

So when you say you can turn off soft button, does this mean you can remove it from the screen and only use hardware? Does this mean it puts taskbar at the top like HTC One X?
Maybe I just screenshot it.

And yes, only use hardware button.

[Q] Help with new radio

Hello,
I have a BYD car, model S1 (Yuan), the radio was developed in China so it have some limitations for example didn't have Google play store, services, etc.
It's really limited to "Baidu". The actual version of Android is 4.2.2 and we are looking for any way to upgrade the radio to something really cool. I guess my goal is to include Android Auto to the radio at some point.
So, any suggestions where to start? a friend of fine already took the radio down of one of the cars and were able to upgrade the Android version to 6.2, however the main issue is that is not recognizing the cameras (1 on the back and 1 on the right side of the car) any ideas?

Hi aaron0989
Sorry to bump and old post, but I have the same car.
Do you still have this car? Were you able to upgrade it?
If you did, Can you explain the procedure?
The thing with the cameras must be something related to a physical connection.
Regards,
W

Question HK S21 Version Samsung Keyboard

Hello,
is it possible to switch the HK Version of the Samsung Keyboard to the EU (german) Version, that i can use Keyscafe?
I got the SM-G9980.
Yes, go to Settings, General Management, Samsung Keyboard Settings, Language and types, Manage input languages then search for Deutsch.
The problem is, i got an SM-G9980 snapdragon Hongkong-Version.
I switched the language to Deutsch, but i can't use Keyscafe, because the layout stays in china/HK.
Keyscafe doesn't work with china/HK-layout.
Ended up switching for Gboard since the SM-G9980 factory keyboard was a piece of **** that occupied half the screen.

Why not resize?
I also have an HK version, but Keys Cafe doesn't work for me when I customize the effects or change some layout.

You can't resize below a certain point, and that's still way too much I like for a keyboard.

My Taiwan model was not usable at first, but I changed the area code to HK, and then it became usable. Maybe you want to check CSC

After my test, keyscafe of model 9980 chc and bri are not available, but tgy (hongkong) is available
For those that weren't aware I remember a very big thread about this on the Note 20 U forums. Last I remember the stock Samsung keyboard couldn't be changed to the one that is on the non CH or HK models.
