Wifi signal response suddenly poor - Suggestions> - HTC Sensation XL

FIX FOUND - See second post.
Hi guys,
Phone: Aussie VodaPhone HTX Sensation XL - Beats
Issue: Wifi signal reception very very poor
My Signal strength for my household Wifi has gone to nothing, I have a max of 4 meters before it cuts out.
I have applied multiple mods of late but only noticed the wifi failure today. My wives unmolested XL works fine.
I have tried all the wifi boosters/wifi fixers, none of them help and I think this MIGHT be a physical issue.
I suspect the back plate of the XL some how is used in WIFI but i am not sure, does anyone know? Any Suggestions on fixing this? - Perhaps there is some flash I forgot?
Thank you for your time.

FIXED!`
Ok guys,
I've no fixed this WIFI issue... brace yourself.
I resolved very poor signal by putting on the protective cover. This cover didn't come with the phone - I bought this at the same time.
Anyway, I was about to go back to vodaphone, popped the protective cover on an bam! Wifi is working at full strength again.
The cover is just a usual plastic - I can only guess that the back plate of the XL somehow picks up interference which stops/messes with some frequencies.
Of course, you might all know this already and as such I will look like a tool - Posting this to help others in same boat.

check this solution:
settings -> WiFi -> press menu -> advanced -> Best Wi-Fi performance
this will boost your Wi-Fi but may consume more power
Hope this will help

Milestone Wi-fi/3G connects but not send data

Hello there,
As a newcomer, I found out these foruns filled up with great information and guys willing to help, so came here to ask for some help ....I am both excited and dissapointed with my brand new Milestone. Bought the handset about 5 days ago, which came with Android 2.0. Then updated it straight away to version 2.1 via "Motorola Software Update". So far so good ...here´s the problem I am facing :
While connected to wi-fi or 3g(issue is easier to notice due to 3G icon at the task bar, which points out in those small arrows data that is being sent/received) phone stops to receive data out of the blue. All connectios are cut off(it also happens when the handset is locked up). Some basic trouble shooting i did:
- tested all pcs connected to the same wi-fi network. No issues detected for these
- reset wi-fi router configs. Didn´t work
- tried other wi-fi router. Presented same issue
- swapped another carrier chip to test 3g connection. Presented the same issue
- tested my GSM chip on ther phone. Worked properly
- Reset phone to default settings. This time the connection took longer to drop, like 30 minutes, instead of the usual 10 minutes. After the first drop, it´s started behaving the same way again.
It seems pretty much that there an issue going on here (obvious...hehehe). I am considering the following:
- Might be a software issue. So, right now i am downgrading it back to 2.0 version, check if it works properly and then move to 2.1 hopping to get the issue fixed.
- Use retailer warranty and claim for a new phone =/
Could you guys help me out ??
Thanks in advance and Best Regards !!!
Guys, after downgrading version to 2.0, phone stills presenting the same issue. I think it´s turning into hardware issue =/....does anyone have a clue about it?
Thanks and Best Regards!!!

WiFI Signal Dropping - Nexus 7 (2012)

Recently the WiFi signal on our Nexus 7 (2012/Wifi only/16gb) has been dropping regularly.
Its that bad now that even if we use the device in the same room as our router its only showing one/two bars on the signal. If we go upstairs or even in the kitchen it either disconnects or its super slow.
I have no idea why this is happening, i thought it may have been kitkat so ive downgraded back to 4.3 and im using SmoothROM with Mkernel.
Still have the same problem...
Ive tried the usual fixes that seem to be pasted all over the net... ie, changing channel on router, rebooting device, changing wifi settings
The tablet has been dropped a few times, could this have anything to do with it??

Likely the antenna in the device is loose. Dropping the tablet can cause hardware failures. That or the WiFi radio has been damaged.

I briefly had similar problems after dropping my Nexus 7. The problem was that the back cover had popped loose along one side. Once I snapped it back into place the wifi signal was back to normal. It wasn't obvious that the back cover we loose until I began squeezing the front and back together and working my way around the edges.
I would check if the pins are making contact on the back case. Pull off the back cover and bend the 2 pins out slightly so it will make a better connection. There are 3 sets of pins there, it's pretty straight forward which pins are for the wifi. There are labels on the back cover to identify which pins go to what. Good luck. This should fix your problem, unless there is a hardware issue.

[Q] No WiFi networks are detected when scanning and calling does not work either

Hi all,
I have a second hand GT-n7000 in my possession.
For some reason, I am not able to detect any WiFi networks nor able to call anyone. This phone has never been rooted and is using the original rom and recovery.
If anyone has any suggestions or tips that might help me find out why the Galaxy Note is not detecting any WiFi networks, please let me know!
**UPDATE: It turns out that the rear cover is missing the top left antenna.
This is shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6CJy71_9Ok#t=191 at 3 min 11 sec.
So I'm guessing the previous owner had switched all the phone housing to make it look new.
I've tried using some random metals I've found around home to emulate the antennas, but they failed to make a difference.
If someone could remove the rear cover (which contains the antenna) and see if their phone (without the rear cover) detects any WiFi networks that would help me lots.
I really don't want to waste more money buying a phone housing that may not fix the problem.
Cheers

WIFI signal very poor. Drops out if not in 2m range.

Hey guys. I've read a lot of WiFi issues here on the forums and net but have yet to find a solution. My phone has had its WiFi range slowly reduce over time to the point where I can't go 2 meters away from the router or else it would just drop out. The problem started happening a few months back where the signal got weaker and weaker as the days went on. I was not too sure what was going on and flashed Kit Kat on it but it did not solve the issue. Went back to Marshmallow and still happening. I've tried adding a WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini to "/system/etc/wifi" and "/system/etc/firmware/wlan" to no avail. I have also tried using legacy DHCP client in developer options. I had heard on a Sony forum that this might be hardware related and required a new motherboard. But I still don't know if it is the actual issue. If I can't find a software solution I was thinking that I can buy another Z3 Compact where the screen is broken but the actual mobo is still intact and working and replace it into my current phone.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
probably u droped ur phone from hand and did some damage to it...or problem from motherboard. go to a service

LG V40 - Needs Re-Start to connect to good Cell or WiFi Signal - What's wrong?

Hi,
LG V40 isn't connecting to strong Cell or WiFi signals without a Re-Start ... why?
This has never been a problem before. It's always shown a strong Cell Signal at my house and I've fantastic WiFi speeds at the house too. However, occasionally I"ll notice the phone is slow to load a Website or takes too long to send a large file in a Text, I'll look at the Signal Strength and it shows low Cell Signal and low WiFi Signal, yet I know (and test) them both from another phone and they're as strong as possible.
What is the issue and how can I fix this problem?
Thank you all in advance.
Regards,
Gregory
Almost a week later and not one reply post ! ? !
Guess the heat for LG has faded ... not only for the brand, but for this phone, yet, this phone is still (somewhat) fast, takes all updates and is a good camera.
Well ... I still hope for an answer. I've done a complete Factory Reset without loading ANY apps at all for 3 days and it STILL has this issue.
(... Side Note: It's absolutely AMAZING how long the battery lasts when all the bloatware and junk apps are removed, all non-needed-undeleteable-apps are disabled and there's not one Third Party App ! ! )
I read on another thread it's only happened since 5G started getting activated on towers. I don't understand how one would affect the other, but maybe someone can chime in and clear the air on that.
If I don't get an answer soon, I'll have to check other phones to see if others are having this issue and upgrade to a newer phone.
Hope to hear from someone soon.

I don't have the exact same issue as you, but I have an issue where my data connection doesn't connect when my WiFi is off. So I need to turn on my WiFi before I turn on my data, then only turn off my WiFi. I didn't know this before, and I had to resort to turning on airplane mode, whenever I needed to use my data.
I sent my previous device in for warrany repairs, so my device has a new mainboard, and the issue was on both devices. It has to be a software issue on my variant (LG-V405EB), because I haven't seen any other complaints about it online.

Thanks for the reply Miz Pimp.
The phone was checked out and came back working 100% efficient - but they did say that clearing the phone with a Re-Start will help with connectivity.
I hate that as an answer - but it's something that a Samsung user said they've got to do too.
Feeling less alone regarding this problem, but I'm going to upgrade to a 5G phone early next year when that coverage is expected to get to my area.

That really is a horrible reply. It sucks that we need to do that to get a proper connection. I never had this issue with ANY of my mid-range Huawei devices, so it's pretty annoying that I'd have issues on a flagship.
The System Update 13 from Verizon just installed.
Still the same issue with connectivity damn it! !
I literally shut the phone off and restart to get better reception for several hours .... then the reception will drop to one or two bars, calls have drop-outs and upload/download speeds drop. A Re-Start and it all goes back to full bars and high connectivity speeds.
This does not happen to friends with Pixel's, Sammy's or iPhones.
Looks like the LG has some sort of malfunction ... OR ... it's a program to keep battery life exceptionally long, which it clearly does over my other friends phones who maintain high connectivity rates, yet significantly lower battery life.
