Ive had my phone since Christmas and after a month the screen froze and became unresponsive. This happened once every couple of weeks but in this last month it happens every day now and about 10 times each day. I have factory reset it about 5 times now and its no different. I have also done the clear battery/charge way suggested on original sensation
Has anyone else experienced this or know off a way to fix it?

I hope that someone knows what to do.

I got my SGS a couple of weeks ago. Haven't used it much yet. Anyways, I left if off the last three days and turned it on today and i notice that there is a continuous vertical line of faulty pixels! It is quite centrally located. I have just flashed it with the new fw last week, other than that I haven't done any modifications.
Is that an hardware or software error? How could that have happened? Any suggestions what I could do?
Regards
edit: can't post a pic since the only digicam I got atm is the one on the Galaxy...
edit2: sorry, this slipped into the wrong section, wanted to post it to General.

it sounds like a hardware problem, what you could do is factory reset the device and see what happens, then you can be quite certain its not a software problem.
For me it doesn't sound like a ROM issue, but others can answer that better than me.

But it could be... I'd try to restore it to stock as much as possible, to see if the problem persists, and obviously also to be able to return it in conditions that won't void the warranty.

That's the thing... the phone was branded. Tried a factory reset but it didn't help. I haven't found the providers fw online, as expected. If I will return it I will go there with my phone turned on and hope they won't notice. I got ahold of the original fw-info, I guess if I would be able to re-flash it it won't help me though... damn it
Has anyone experienced this problem on the RAZR i (but possibly not realised it or thought it was just occasional) with regards to people phoning you, you saying hello and them clearly not hearing you as they don't respond. Only when you say 'hello' again is it quite clear they didn't hear anything at first as they don't act surprised or confused.
It must be 1-2 seconds or so at most, but it's quite annoying and seems to be happening every time I answer. This makes me suspect it's the phone, not the network (Orange/EE if anyone cares).
I thought it might just be the person at the other end not listening, but I've since asked people who didn't respond if they heard my first hello and they say no - so it's as if the mic isn't activated straight away.
Before I report it as a bug to Motorola, I really want to know if anyone else has suffered the same problem?

So you know, my phone is;
81.5.31002.XT890.Retail.en.GB
I have exactly the same problem, but on my 2 years old Desire, and I've only had it since I installed the latest version of a custom ROM, so there is a very big possibility, that it's just a software bug. But I agree, it gets annoying as hell, so it would be great for as many people with this problem to let Motorola know about it, so they fix it as soon as possible.
Can't wait to get my hands on this beauty, by the way!
Mine is fine. Done a reset?
I checked mine out as not noticed a problem. Turns out to be fine. Hope you sort the issue.

Hi all!
My HTC One packed up this weekend. It's the same problem as this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280792
It happened on Friday night, I'm unsure if it ran out of battery or not - but I realised it was broken after I woke up in an alleyway drunk - it was raining but the phone wasn't wet.
However, none of the solutions in that thread have worked. The phone is on, and still receiving messages etc - I can take screengrabs and see them come into my Dropbox, everything looks fine on the home screen. I just can't get it to actually display. Whenever I try and restart it I get the flashing soft keys, it restarts makes all the noises and stuff but just won't display
The software is all the default stuff with the latest update of Android installed last week at some point.
Any help I'd love you for - I dropped my last one in the Thames and I don't wanna lose another!

Sounds like a dead LCD to me. Maybe in your inebriated [emoji481] state you fell and it took a heavy knock. Or you rolled on it while sleeping and fractured the LCD.
If there's any warranty on the device you can try your luck with that. Just say you pulled it out of your pocket and that's how it was ( no need to mention the drunk in the ally bit [emoji12] ) Maybe you'll get a free repair.

No warranty unfortunately
Looks like I'll be needing a new phone again then. Balls. Anything outside of the previously mentioned thread I could try?

If you've tried rebooting it under a bright light, and all the software is still stock. There's not much else it can be.
Incompatible kernels can cause a similar issue but that's only for modified devices.

Hi,
First off all I've been searching around the forums and find masses of information which is amazing.. But that also confuses me.
I came here because I have a stock HTC One M7 which is a mini (hope im in the correct section).
Basically I buy my phones outright for cash, and use the remaining money on sim only contract deals which saves me a bit of money..
So I've had this phone for going on 2 years.. its been fine and loved it at first.. but lately i'd say over the past 6 months the phone has gone extremely slow.. when I mean slow it can take 1 to 2 minutes to load apps then the same again for it to update information within that app.. If someone says take a picture I say not being funny but it would take 5 minutes for this phone to take the picture and the moment is lost..
Thing is I was planning on keeping this phone till 2016.. but at this rate id rather just wait till I get home to use the net.. im seriously tempted to dump it..
But as a last resort I read on google that the rom can be changed? but ive never done this and wouldn't know which rom would be best to get this phone back to how it was! I don't care for looks I just want speed.. if it had to be a google phone then so be it..
So my question is what rom would someone recommend to a newbie to the scene?? I don't want to scrimp because im a new so would like the best I can get ??
Please get in touch!
Again sorry if this isn't in the correct section.

If it was fine after a factory reset and slowed down after a few days, its probably cause by one (or more) app installed after the reset.

Thanks, I will reset it again.. Its becoming a pain..
Just read the forum link you posted and it seems development has ended.. probably forcing me to move onto something new
Thanks for your help!
So i rooted my new nexus 6 and installed chroma rom. every thing was fine till i noticed a small part of the screen flicker. it was like a black line coming and going as soon as i took it off charging it was fine. this was after i installed the rom there was nothing like this on the stock one. also when i open the camera app i can hear a small click/ crackle sound. this happened in the stock rom too but with the snapchat app. its irritating and i cant find a fix anywhere. and lastly whats with the network issue? it suddenly comes and goes. i checked it and it showe 0dbm and 99 asu?is this common? tried to find a fix but all i got was lots of unanswered threads. as being a student who need to use this phone for a long time can anyone tell me if all this is fixable ? or do i need to get a replacement as im still in my 30 day return period. thanks in advance and sorry if all this issues are already in a post and have fixes just post me the link as i could find it
being a student who needs the use of the phone for long periods of time.. what are you foing moddifying your device. no custom rom will be bug free. even though whtyever bugs dont bother me, they seem to bug you. why dont you just stay stock with root if those issues are bugging you.

I know no roms are bug free, just wanted to know if these are common software issue and not a bad device that i got. And on the other hand i used my s3 for 2.5-3 yrs with custom roms and stuff simply as i enjoy running them and seeing all the amazing stuff people can do with skill that was the main reason i got a nexus
