restore stock ics apps

is it possible to restore stock apps in galaxy ote n7000 without resettind it...??
Yes you need root and a tool like root explorer. Just take apks out of rom and place in system apps.
Check that they have same permissions as other apps, rw and such and click them to install. Not sure if they install themselves with a reboot.

Open Root Explorer.
Scroll Down to System/app
You will see all applications there. Just Copy and paste to your external SD Card. When you want to restore just paste them to System/app using root explorer and set permissions as rw-r-r and reboot

Ok, download rom you want to restore from, usually a zip file, unzip it. Then with root explorer navigate to tar. Md5 file and open it, you might need to rename to tar file only, then within that search for a fokder that contains the apk you want, extract them, or copy them outside tar file then to your system app location etc etc

Just keep file pressed when selecting, then menu opsbup and scroll in menu to option permissions. Then select those according to permissions set inother files.
All this in root explorer. Not sure if a fix permissions from cwm recovery fixes this. Never tested it.

You might need to mount system/apps as read write r/w. That is a button on top left of screen when you are in that folder, just set it back when done

I'll teach you how to fish instead of giving it to you.
There is a website called google.com type your query there, together with e.g android, or xda or both, and youre sure to find your answers to almost any question.
Might need to query with different phrases or order of words, sometimes in steps.
Thats how I figured out last time. Sorry I wasnt able to answer stepwise step for step. maybe you make a tutorial with print screens, for future users that have same question
Damn I suck at explaining

[Q] Stock Clock

hi trying to delete some bloadware i did delete apk clock so i cant set my alarm, can some one help me with this apk or any simple alarm im on stock rom 2.6.3
Download any ROM from the development section, grab the Clock.apk from /system/app, proceed to paste it in your phone (to /system/app) using a root explorer
Yes, I have the apk file here: View attachment DeskClock.apk.
Copy it to /system/app/ and set permissions to rw-r-r.
Or, install it with System Apps Installer (by Traber Software), you need root, but you have root, or not?

View attachment DeskClock.apk
May be this will work
Instead of using any app
Do it manually
1. Download Root Explorer from Play Store
2. Then download the file from the link in the post
Its deskclock.apk
3. Go in Root Explorer
So first go to your root then system /app
(Note: Enable Mount system as R/W in Root Explorer)
4. Then copy the deskclock.apk I gave you and paste in system/app
5. SET PERMISSIONS
Long click on deskclock.apk and click on permissions
You will see three columns
Read Write Execute
You have to set them in the following way
x means you have to tick it
blank means uncheck
Read Write Execute
.....x........x.................
.....x...........................
.....x...........................
6. Click OK
Reboot
Note : in root explorer, in system/app
click on mount system as R/W
not R/O
or you will get error

[Q] ES file explorer can't get root access

Hi,
I easly unlocked and rooted my Razr i using mattlgroff tools.
My phone is rooted, some apps like adfree are running perfectly, but, ES file explorer won't manage to get root access.
When I tick the "Root Explorer" option, it asks for root, works hard for 1 or 2 seconds, then tells me "Sorry, test failed. This feature cannot run on your phone".
I tried to update su binary and busybox (wich was actually already up to date) but nothing changed.
I have the same problem... For the moment I use an alternative app :
Root Browser Lite
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree
It works fine as root and it is free.
Lebobo...

If you cant afford Root Explorer (which is awesome) I would suggest using Solid Explorer because its not awesome, its SUPER awesome and free

Download any other rootable File Manager from store (make sure to grant root access and enable r/w) then COPY all the files in /su/bin to /system/xbin. Then, ES file Exp. Pro 1.0.7 root explorer works fine..
