Hi guys!
I'm in Canada and updated my P925 to v20c couple weeks ago.
Then yesterday I decided to go into hidden menu to check reception. And I could't for a while...
Then I tried o3D model number and it worked! Weird...
Now to access hidden menu I need to dial 3845#*920# instead of 925.
Can somebody else confirm it too? Does itean I have 920 model now? In hidden menu my phone is still listed as 925.
Thanks

The "Hidden Menu" (aka Service Menu etc.) is actually located within the modem (baseband) firmware, so anytime that part is updated, you may risk losing or changing also this menu. In some cases on Samsung devices (using the same modem hardware as the LG-P925G), you loose functionality of hidden menu after playing around with it too much. This is due to very buggy (and secret) modem firmware, but is usually remedied by a simple reboot.
Also I see you use "double" number codes for access. There should be a simpler code for you to use to get in. Look in the ServiceMode.apk (or whatever it's called in your case) for other/more hidden codes particular to your LG devices...
Thanks EVA!
I still little bit confused with these bb and RIL in 3D...
I used to have LG 2x. In that phone bb should be flashed separately from ROM and kernel. Also I ciuld change RIL based on ROM I was using...
Could you explain, please, in couple words, how bb works in 3D?
Do you think bb was updated when i updated my phone to GB through LG web site?
Thanks!

I have no idea how it works in that phone since I don't have one. But you can learn more about baseband processors etc., and in general, in my other thread:
"[A][SGS2][Serial] How to talk to the Modem with AT commands"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1471241
Your BP firmware was for sure updated if you went from a major release like Froyo to Gingerbread!
The free market app "Any Cut", among other things, will allow you to make an instant HiddenMenu shortcut to place on your wallpaper or inside any folder and not have to worry about typing the code.

I have been waiting for someone to let me know if this would work but since i didnt get a response i figured i wouod just give it a shot. So to anyone else wanting the Optimus firmware and features, this is what u do.
Root your Thrill 4G with one click
Flash Clockwork Mod recovery
Download the new 10K Firmware flashable zip and put on root of sd card
Boot into CWM recovery with power+3D+volume down
Make backup
Wipe data,cache,dalvik (i did 3 times each)
Install the firmware zip
Reboot and wait. It took 5 min to boot
Done... Now you can play Mario Kart in 3D or anything else u want, and no more at&t crap.

I was definitely interested in doing this but the lack of 4g is a deal breaker for me.
Hi, This is link for v10k European Open in *.zip format.

Yesss! It really works! I just flashed European 10K without any problems.
Thanks!
Yes but, no 4G and does your MMS work????
If 3g data/MMS not working, try manually edit APNs.
I haven't installed, all O3D roms I have installed except for CM7 MMS hasn't worked even with the correct APN either on no type or type set to "mms, supl"
Does anyone know a way of unlocking now without having to pay for an unlock code?? Thanks

UPDATE
hey guys just installed this a few hrs ago and i have to say its nice to have the ability to use 2g or HSPA or even 3G when there is no HSPA. the battery life is a little better from what i can see. my download speed over cell network is close to 875KB which is pretty damn good .my upload is at 190KB. so far everything seems to be working good . will update once i see an issue .

Any other link?
does the 4g (HSPA+) work with this, or will it work if there is an APN change that you have to do.
is there any way to get rid of this weird "AT&T" thing that appears on my lock screen? it has a picture of a sim card next to it
also, is there something wrong with the OTA? it doesn't work on my phone...is it because of this mod?
Yeah mafiadesi when you put roms on your phone (or I think even using CWR) will make it so your can't get OTA's because the phone won't how to update through OTA.
is there a time delay in the v10k rom? i flashed one of the roms from ThiaiZ over at the LG Optimus 3D forums and when i set the time to "Automatic" there was a delay of 4 hrs, its not a big deal seeing you can manually set it, but i am just wondering...
And as a side note, is there any difference between the At&t Thrill and Rogers LG Optimus 3D (my box still say P925G on it)
I noticed the delay too. It was exactly corresponding to my time zone (-5 hrs).

yeah i had the same problem too, but it would only happen the first time i tried to delete a screen, after that it was running fine
Ps just have a very quick question, can i restore to stock using the mobile support tool or will that give me a brick?! :S
It still happens to me. No FC if I delete screens after the default, but anything before gives me a FC.
I have no idea This is my first rom flash on this phone. Still have to figure out how to go back, but I saw a thread in development section about going to stock, I would rather use that.

hey guys,
testing the chinese xt883 stock rom these days.
apart from extensive battery drain i have one big problem:
all my contacts (which are about 500) are displayed in contacts view but when someone calls me the phone won't show the assiocated contact name to the number but only the caller id itself!?
when i go to call list and add the same number again to the contact the next time the person calls me the contact name is correctly associated and displayed.
same problem in text messaging also, but not with every contact?!
you see i don't want to manually edit all my contacts to make the phone know which number belongs to which contact ...
anyone know how to fix this?
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is this the xt883 ROM on an xt862 for gsm functionality? If so, any reason in particular you chose this ROM? Do you know about flashing the xt883 radio.img to get gsm on the xt862? It works great and doesn't force me to use the Chinese ROM lol.
sure i know about flashing the radio.img only but i also want the other benefits of the xt883, like call firewall, call record, bluetooth transfer, hardware decoding and so on.
what's included in the radio.img? is the cell standby issue fixed when flashing the radio.img only?
thanks!
Sent from my XT883 using XDA App
Do you mean the battery life due to having the cell radio on standby? I've only used the phone on T-Mobile so I don't really have a comparison for that. I've noticed wifi reception is a little weak, so I'm wondering if that has to do with the radio.img. I read that the xt883 is only rated for 802.11 b/g, so that would explain it.
I mainly use stock xt862 ROM because I tried the xt883 ROM and didn't like having to do the work around for Gapps and all the Chinese bloatware included. I didn't know about any exclusive benefits, but I don't think I'd need them now that you mention them.
I really just wanted gsm functionality and the stock ROM with the radio tweak works just fine for that.

Also, if you're interested in seeing what it includes, you can look in the dev section where the thread is and just download the zip to look at the files.

To solve it I've added the country code to all the contacts.
That worked for me 100%

i also got the same problem , i had restored all contacts and sms via app.
i imported the contacts to sdcard, then via file manager opened the vcf file manually and my contacts were updated again.
then all contacts displayed correctly when calls came or anything.
Hey folks,
Since no one else has done so, I just checkout CM7 sources from GitHub and made a fresh build. It seems to be working pretty well on my VZW Droid3, except for the camera which doesn't work at all. Anyway, I thought I'd share in case anyone else wants to test.
It's just stock CM7.2 + Hashcode, if you want other tweaks like OC you'll have to port them from other roms. I'd like to get the camera working but don't expect much as I don't have a lot of free time.

I'm assuming you tried the CM9 camera fix on CM7? Seems overly obvious, but I love CM7 on my DX and that's why I'm using it as my DD over the D3.

Very nice!
Can't download now, but someone test to see if a 3rd party camera app works. That was the case in the last version of CM7 I used on the D3, stock camera didn't work but others did (Camera Zoom FX for example).
I'll be flashing this ROM fairly soon (soon as in, tonight) and I'll give a third party camera app a try. I'll get back to you as to the results.
UPDATE 1: Just tried a third party camera app, no dice. Same black screen as the stock camera.
UPDATE 2: Notification LED is stuck on. Poking around the settings to see if I can get it to turn off...
same as Hashcode CM7.2 ver
- no 3G data in GSM
- no possible to save new APN
+ The camera360 app. functioning perfectly
This patch here did the trick:
GSM Patch:
http://www.2shared.com/file/ilFRwlr1/GSM_PATCH_1116_WithData.html
It's basically the GSM patch from an older thread about CM7. It works fine for 3G and calling and whatnot, and I haven't seen anything go horribly wrong with it. Obviously, I'll report back if anything does.
And my previous statement about a 3rd party app not working, I have to retract that statement, I just installed FxCamera and it works just fine. Barcode scanner seems to be in working order too.
Still testing, will report back if I encounter any other bugs.
UPDATE: Front Facing Camera definitely doesn't work. Same deal as on CM9 before, it comes up with nothing but static.

it isn't, (first thing i tried that patch)
Well, that's the patch that I used and it's working, but I did have to manually add the APNs in order to get 3G.
EDIT: I just read your signature properly. My phone is an XT862 and yours being an XT860 is probably why the patch isn't working for you. The two phones are somewhat different, but only in really subtle ways. I always hear about GSM patches being incompatible between the two. The patch that I linked seems to be for the XT862 and wont work with the XT860.

thanks for your reply probably you right
the main issue is when try to add new APN, normaley the MCC & MNC values are there, but If they are not (like in that case) it is useless because the APN will not be saved.
I'd love to CM7 running on this phone. Have you tried this fix posted for the DX? I currently run CM 7.1.0 on my DX and it's perfect... But it doesn't have a FFC to figure out.

Well, if anyone could possibly tell me where to start, I could probably look into the whole FFC issue, see if there was anything I could possibly do (with my limited knowledge).

you actually cant add/edit any apn information since it wont save or even seem to read/load values from the apns-conf.xml unless the sim card is recognized/working. it looks alot like the same problem we xt860 owners had on ics, once the sim card was recognized (thanks to rick2) everything worked.

(for CM9 NOT CM7)!
Hi,
yesterday, I successfully installed "official" CM9 on my GT-P7100 from get.cm. However, there are some issues which I hope can be fixed (or not, as the case may be).
- Camera is not working. Is that normal? In the other thread, I read that it should work with pershoot's image from androidbasement. What's the difference between the androidbasement version and the oficial one from get.cm, anyway? Which is more recent/stable/feature-complete?
- WhatsApp is not installable from Play Store. It says "Your device is not compatible with this version". Does anyone know a reason?
- GSM telephony doesn't work (messaging neither). It didn't with the original image, too, but I hoped to make it available with ICS - actually, that was the main reason for me, to flash the tab. Could flashing the modem driver help? At the moment, Baseband is still P7100BULB4. I read that some people flashed it to P7500XXKL3. What could be the reason for doing so?
I attached xome screenshots to give you some hints about my system config. Unfortunally they are in German but should be pretty self-explaning. I can help translating, if you can't understand it.
Thanks for helping, anyway!
Cheers
Chris~
Pershoot may not have uploaded his experimental code for the camera up to the cm repository yet. The new builds on droid basement are still experimental.
Whatsapp has never worked out of the box. If you search there are some people who found workarounds in the early days but I never tried them myself, gtalk works perfectly.
Gsm calling is a dream unrealised. Seo did at one stage have an experimental code to get call receiving working but never call making and he seems to have lost his code and I never saw any of it working on ICS. Messaging also doesnt work. Try textab, works well.Flashing the different modem won't fix this either.
If I were you, I'd flash the experimental cm9 or even cm10 at droid basement and enjoy.

thanks for the comprehensive info! pitty that gsm/messaging doesn't work. At least I know now, that it's not worth bothering.
TexTab is cool, although I'd prefer not to use blutooth. Is there a similar app using email or another Internet-based protocol?
I found out how to install WhatsApp. Download the App from this Site: http://www.whatsapp.com/android/current/WhatsApp.apk
During installation it tries to send you an SMS for authentication. This fails, because the tablet can't receive SMSs, but don't worry, just wait five minutes until the progress bar reaches the end. After that you get the option to enter the pin manually (you can receive a phone call with the pin).
I really hate to start this back up about enabling phone support on sch-i800. But the lack of post/info about it is very annoying. We know that hardware is there to make it work. But how far is the software limiting us on this fact? I myself have mine on a voice plan with Page Plus and could in theory make call's if I can get the tab to support it. I have made it as far to get the Tab it self activated and programmed onto Page Plus, and Framework-res.apk edit for the dialer to show. But when it trys to call out it just shut's the call down and I'm back at the dialer. If anyone could shed a little light my way I would be grateful. Anymore apk's i should edit? more in the framework somewhere? Any info guys ? I have full service and 3g perfect on this thing.

Hey Haxz...I grabbed just a 3rd party dialer..and it tries to make a call..and closes...I was wondering if you ever found a way in to Diag Mode on CM10 so edits can be done such as web settings and prl updates with qpst...I have mine running Cricket...Thanks..
Actually I was able to get into diag mode using a command line in terminal emulator. Looks like original post was by autoprime I think, so thanks to him. This line worked for me. echo MODEM USB > /sys/class/sec/switch/usb_sel. I was running cm9 roms also.

I found 2 scripts in the Sprint section that click click and you can switch between PDA and Modem..But one thing....I can get web settings to work under GB but no ICS/Jelly Bean Roms will work with Data period..I have re-checked the settings dozens of times..and nothing...One thing just in case you need the info...To change APN settings...I had to use the Sprint modem file...If you try to write in qpst with the Verizon modem file the settings won't take..Thanks for the response on it...
This thread is a few months old but I wanted to post that apparently the trick to getting voice back is to replace the modem.bin from a samsung fascinate because it's the same dialer hardware.
I haven't done this as it's beyond my abilities but I've read it elsewhere.
If anyone successfully tests this, perhaps they can make a clockworkmod zip file that we can flash over cm10.1
