If you have less than 10 questions posted this thread is for you or else post in Doc's Master ICS Rom thread or for more info here
Vibranturk has just released V7 - major improvement.. enjoy!!!
No, that is not how it works. If you have a question period, you ask it HERE. Don't go clutter up the dev thread...
Is anyone having good luck with the uckk4 modem
It will never work on ICS unless someone implements the Code into the kernel. you have to use an I9000 Modem or Nexus S modem from the dev section

is there a kernel that works normally with Gingerbread 2.3.3 on captivate ?
yeah quite a few.
they are the kernels in the dev section that say gingerbread or 2.3
and ask questions in the Q&A thread not the themes and apps...

They're only for cm7/miui though, won't work for samsungs i9000 jvk gingerbread rom.
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but had a look at the I9000 thread in the Dev forum and also search couldn't find much.
I'm currently running JVH on my Captivate using xcal's kernel.. Interested in installing a deodexed JVH ROM.
Can I just follow Ramad's steps and then reflash the xcal kernel? Or is there additional steps involved for the Captivate?
Thanks!
I am currently running serendipity 6.4 with the speedmod kernel, and i was wondering if someone could give me a list of compatible kernels that support overclocking...it would be much appreciated
Might try the serendipity q&a stickied in the q&a section. Or look through dev.
i wanted to post this to the NovaROM thread, but i can't cause i'm a newb. #1- does novaROM have the knzo kernel or does it have to be installed separately? #2 is the knzo kernel only for CM7? (maybe that should be #1!). are there any kernels for OB that support loop to enable installing the debian port?
peas,
k
(yes, i searched for days already for these answers, so don't bother flaming me)
#1: of course the first. It's included but not CM7 kernel for 2.3.5, it¡s Quasar kernel for Froyo.
#2: knzo's CM7 kernel is at the moment only for CM7, and Quasar kernel is for stock Froyo ROMs, because Nova already has it.
No idea with the last.
Regards.
i think that no matter we are newb, we should post all the questions on GENERAL thread, not the development thread which is the pool of tutorial.

well, if a question is specific to novaROM, then i would post it there if i could. that's kinda the point, no? anyway, CM7SK6 supports loop in the kernel, in case anyone else would benefit from this info.
Hello dear XDA fellows.
I know questions like these are not very popular but I am on very short time to research and experiment. Also, not familiar with Galaxy S i9000 rom scene at all.
I need a rom for this phone, which will be used by a complete newbie to android/smartphones/touchscreens, so I cant expect them to know anything about tweaks or launchers.
I need a rom that is stable, looks most stock/Touchwiz (and/or feature rich) and preferably ICS. Preferably a port of SGS2 ICS or even modified SGS GB builds are fine.
Phone is currently running some CM9 ics build and is rooted. Thank you all for your recommendations
If you want GB try stock jw8 + semaphore kernel.
You can find the latest stock roms in ramads thread. Search it in the general section. You can find there all the instructions on how to flash with odin.
Cheers,
