[Q] What Process Is Eating Battery? - LG Revolution

My wife's revolution has something running that eats the battery in a couple hours and makes charging the phone ridiculously long. Under battery use Android System is always above 90% usage. This doesn't tell me much. How do I pinpoint what part of the Android System is actually causing it?

Go to settings/applications/running services. Should tell you what's running and now much RAM its using. If its pointless and your rooted you can use an app such as titanium backup pro to freeze it.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Indepth battery usage stats?

Is there an app that dispays what's actually draining the battery?
My cappy seems to randomly drain fairly steadily and quickly some days but not others with the same type of usage so I want to find out exactly whats happening.
Im currently using watchdog and systempanel but neither really show what's going on.

Hi, Nooby question coming up.
recently rooted my SGS2 using the Chainfire Kernel and now have noticed that Android OS is prominent in my battery usage, sometimes around 50%in an hour,
Is this normal?
I also run a HTC IS stock and I have not yet seen ANdroid OS on the usage stats.
What is Android OS doing as I have also noticed Android System in the list at times?

On-screen app sucking the life out of battery

Have any of you guys experienced this? This stock LG app is eating all my battery after updating to gingerbread! And I haven't used it once. Never saw this before updating to gingerbread. Guess this gives me yet another reason to root and clean up the bloat-ware.

Seems to be a common problem, I experienced it myself on one of the leaks. The service restarted, found a problem and exited, got restarted etc. ad infinitum.
Agree, just root, and take a look at this post.
If you open dialer immeditely after the phone boots up, on screen phone starts to hog battery. So let the phone sit for a while, 10 minutes or so, and this doesn't happen. Same applies for camera, at least for me. Youtube app does the same regardless of when you open it, haven't found a solution for this one yet.
I had the same issue on V20L. So I removed OSP and the problem is solved.
i have some other doubts about this app and situation in general. if you see actual usage stats, that this app is not running at all (some sec of cpu time). what i noticed, after updating to v20l battery stats are total messed up. f i launch for exaple some other app jus after chargeing...thiss first app will always have 25-30% of battery usage in the end...even if i have used and than killed it seconds.
anyway, i will go for rooting and removin all those unnessesary aps.

+1 ............
I had the same issue however I would question the accuracy of the battery meter. Anyway. froze the OSP app and it doesn't show in stats anymore.

I had 2 days ago the same problem with the OSP. I fully charged the phone last evening and left it to discharge with wifi on over night. It would have consumed over 8h 10% max, however GB took 25%.
The odd part: this time it wasn't OSP consuming 50% of the drain anymore, but Gallery! wtf?
maybe stupid question..but what is OSP? :/
I'm having trouble with batterylife on my o2x..it drains in 4-5 hours of very little usage.
Thinking of rooting..but can I do that with Superoneclick? when I have 2.3

OSP = On Screen Phone
its an app pre-installed with the phone.
Thank you. So if I root I can freeze that app and save some battery? What other apps would you say I should freeze to improve batterylife?

Ok. So how much of a difference does freezing apps really do? But can I root my o2x with the latest SuperOneclick?

Overheating might be due to overclocking your device or you might use your device your while charging. If not the above case there is a app which keeps your awake device awake and keeps using your cpu time! So, install a app called betterbattery stats which gives complete info about your phone's state, apps which your CPU ( which will heat your phone) Better Battery Stats this apps needs root permissions to work at it's full potential. You could remove those apps (stock apps) using titanium backup or remove user app manually!

Thx for the answer.
I dont have it overclocked, its all stock v20A and rooted and I still get the overheat unplugged even with normal use. Its not a big issue but it makes me ask why it get warm with basic usage like Facebook, Whatsapp, and web browsing.
I only ask for suggestions of which apps do you recommend to remove.
I might underclock the cpu too.

The phone does heat up. I dont know the reason why it heats up so much in stock V20A. It did not feel that warm in ICS.
I dont know about any stock apps that do cause overheating but LG MLT, Google Transport Service and a few other services are huge battery hogs. You would get extra battery life by deleting them or "Freezing" them. Before I switched to CM to try it out, I felt that the battery life improved and was on par the stock CM.I have now.

[Q] Battery Drain Kitkat Razr I

Since updating to kitkat on my Razr I, the battery life has become quite poor. Does anyone have any tips to increase battery life, it seems that whatever app I use, drains battery! I normally run my phone on the lowest brightness, no Bluetooth, no location services or anything like that with just wifi or mobile data on (never at the same time). Currently at 85% in 35 minutes. Thankyou!
i deactivate fast dormancy

Galaxy K zoom extreme battery drain

Hi all,
Just bought a Galaxy K zoom. It is fresh out of restore to factory settings and there is no root.
Problem is the battery drains TOO fast.
Without a SIM card, with WiFi and location always ON, it lasts about 24 hours. Without using it at all, that is.
I find this to be unacceptable. Do you think smth is wrong with the phone?
Any suggestions?
Thank you very much in advance.
I will get mine tomorrow, so can't say anything yet. Maybe check in battery settings what is using (which app or system app) mostly battery and then maybe install greenify to stop apps run when not needed.
