Since updating to kitkat on my Razr I, the battery life has become quite poor. Does anyone have any tips to increase battery life, it seems that whatever app I use, drains battery! I normally run my phone on the lowest brightness, no Bluetooth, no location services or anything like that with just wifi or mobile data on (never at the same time). Currently at 85% in 35 minutes. Thankyou!
i deactivate fast dormancy

Anyone know why Google Services has such high usage percentage in battery use(almost 50%)? A solution maybe?

I'm on jvp and have got no drain problems yet. Does it go away after a reboot?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
no it doesn't. It shows that Google Services is running, and the processes are Network Location and Google framework.. I can't unninstall the framework, because i can't use the market after.
If a simple reboot doesn't fix it then if you wanted yo you could do a factory reset using this code *2767*3855# in phone dialer. This will delete everything on the phone and reinstall the firmware. But it will delete everything! Also any lagfixes should be reverted back to rfs before using this code.
There maybe another fix but that's all I can suggest for now.

Did you just flash the rom? It is expected that Google Services will consume an unusually high battery after flashing. It is because google account has to sync data from phone to its servers and vice versa. Let it run for a few hours or until the initial battery runs out. After that I think your rom's battery usage will "settle down".
Battery drain seems to be fixed with 2.3.4 for me.
Do you have Latitude activated?

+1, i have one day on Stock JVP with SpeedMod kernel and battery life is rock solid! about 1-2 % per hour in stand by.
This is the 3rd day with xxjvp. My latitude is unninstaled.

install cpuspy and see. It says it is good for monitoring those processes,. My battery drain is due to overworking android OS,,,haven't figured out a solution yet.
I flashed it again.

I have this same problem, I hope this works for me too
wow.. 1-2 % per hour in stand by?? i think something wrong with my battery.
I unplugged at 9.00 am and drain sooo fast.. 15% left at 1.00 pm!
but with 2.3.4 with speedmod kernel it can last up to 6 hour.. still this is not like others right? I
You must wipe the sdcard because it might have things from previous roms

Hi,
Software and stuff:
JellyMod 4.0
CoCore 5.1
CRT off
4cyl Turbo 0.31
Lately I've been noticing that my battery has been draining like crazy, especially when the screen is off. I turned off wifi and put on airplane mode just to see if it was them causing it, but since 9:00am at 100% it's now 21:00pm and it's down to 58% after 0 hours of use...
Obviously something is wrong but I don't know what
Battery usage is 41% Android OS, 27%Android system, device idle 15% and some other 2-3% things
Please Help,
William
Try removing the 4cyl turbo script. Caused high battery usage to more users.

Ok I'll give that a go and tell you how it goes.
Edit:I installed the script and tried the others but nothing seemed to give me better results. At night with the same settings and no 4cyl I only lost 5%... Is there any way of getting this device to get better battery life. Google searches always give me results of stuff I already did...
Thanks,
William

Hey man, did you remove the 4cyl turbo script using the uninstall zip in the op? If so, has it been completely removed? Because after using that uninstall file, when I check in terminal emulator, it shows that the file is still there...

Try to install wakelock detector and see which app that acts like a child and won't sleep throughout your phone usage. The install greenify to auto hibernate that app(s) or just freeze it with romtoolbox / titanium
Hi all..... My phone is suffering from intense battery drain on any KitKat rom I put it on..... KitKat is faster than the stock ones.... But the battery drop is literally a straight line.... I'll upload the stats here for you all to see..... I'm kind of keen on staying on KitKat..... So of there is any way that can happen with a proper battery life.... I'm all for it..... Thank you!!!

Another thing.... When the battery is about to die.... The screen flickers like mad.....
Typical symptoms. Buy a new one.
Um..... A new battery right? I have one...... I'll try it and see how it goes
Weirdly though, the battery drop isn't noticeable on stock ROMs..... why would that be?

Maybe you have some major wakelocks going on, but I don't see the phone being awake all the time..
You could always try disabling sync, sync in apps such as facebook, disable GPS, remove the Google+ app.
Do that and see if the issue persists. I'd say it's a dead battery, but the confusing thing is that it doesn't happen when you're on stock ROMs, like you said.

Check Settings -> Battery and see what's actually using your battery.
Install BetterBatteryStats (you can find it here on xda) and use that to pinpoint the problem.

Are you using a custom ROM? If yes which one?
Generally it's a normal thing to see your battery drain faster when you use (Wi-Fi/GPS/3G).
Yes i use Cm 11 23/08 nightly

GPS + Data + display consume a lot of battery
I used google maps and in 30 min it lost about 15-20% battery...
Maybe with other rom it'll be better. Actually I have KK from Mackay

Use this app to see what keeps your device awake and then use the privacy guard to adjust your apps accordingly. I saw a big improvement when I disabled some apps that were waking my device up all the time.
But you can't really do anything to stop the battery consumption when you use GPS/3G/Wi-Fi.
Hi all,
Just bought a Galaxy K zoom. It is fresh out of restore to factory settings and there is no root.
Problem is the battery drains TOO fast.
Without a SIM card, with WiFi and location always ON, it lasts about 24 hours. Without using it at all, that is.
I find this to be unacceptable. Do you think smth is wrong with the phone?
Any suggestions?
Thank you very much in advance.
I will get mine tomorrow, so can't say anything yet. Maybe check in battery settings what is using (which app or system app) mostly battery and then maybe install greenify to stop apps run when not needed.
