I am sorry to ask this specific question, but whenever I try to pair my blueetooth handsfree with my samsung Tab it throws an error of passcode not verified. Resulting in bluetooth not pairing with the tab, also i see there is no option i the dilaer to take the call on the handfree, with TAb it is causing loads of problem to me as I end up taking all calls on speaker or a wired handsfree.
Looking for soem support on the ways to make this happen.
Thanks
see for the pairing code which will be written in the bluetooth headset manual.. or enter 0000 or 1234 as codes. it worked for me

Hi,
I have a strange comportment of my Diamond when I try to pair bluetooth devices whitch have pairing code different of 0000.
Everytime I try to give the pairing code of the device (1234, not changeable), the enterred code in cleared when choosing the "next" button.
(assuming then that code is not needed or is 0000).
Has anybody a solution for this problem ?
Diamond is with original firmware from HTC (the one dowmloadable on there site).
Thanks in advance for your answers
Bouhboulle.
More of the same
I have the same problem (posted earlier). My car's hands-free requires a random code provided during the pairing process, and pairing never succeeds. I understand the Diamond tries 'standard' codes - 0000, 1111, 1234, etc. is there a way to disable this?
Me too
The same for me using Diamond from Vodafone with Vodafone 3D touchflo. I can't pair with any BT device. Please help from anybody.
Thanks a lot.
I do not have this issue.
I can pair with any code on laptop. And my carkit (parrot) just pairs perfect with 1234
BUT
When entered the code, just WAIT, and don't fill it in again. I often see the 'code' field again, and want to enter. Pairing twice gives error etc. Just ignore the empty field, when paired it dissapears.
Think its a tiny bug.
Still the same...
Hi Riel.
There is no option to enter the code twice, once you press next automatically deletes the field and acts as an enter.
BUT, surprisingly, I have installed a cooked ROM and the same again... I now have my doubts about the BT application, I think is the original one from the OS and not an cooked accessory.
I hope that anybody reading this could put some light on it as is one of the strangest behaving I've seen around PDAs in many years.
Thanks for any help.
Its strange my diamond works fine with parrot kit but not with my bt kit
anyone knw why,
Here is the solution
Go Start/settings/connections/bluetooth/right down press security tab and uncheck passkey
Doesn't work, for me at least...

Thanks for the answer but I have tried and doesn't work. On the screen says this is for infrared connections, or am I lost?.
Cheers.
EDIT: I got it finally but the only way is to flash the original ROM and later the one you like. Also remember that some devices does not support more than one pairing partner, this happened to me with a Nokia BT headset, I had to refresh it.
Good luck.
I can not pair my BT head set i-Tech R35 Clip to my new TD2, i get to the enter password part but they do not pair off. I have put the BT head set in to pairing mode.
Does anyone have any advise to get me paired off.
Thanx and regards
Chris
Pairing BT
there is two places you can pair your topaz with a BT headset.
1) link in comm manager over BT, not the switch part at the far right, but the bar where it says bluetooth. it'll take you to a screen where you can pair a headset.
2) in settings in the conection tab under bluetooth (or comm manager, BT and advanced), which is a multi tab that shows you the deviced paired, connected allow you to be discoverable the ports you created etc...
my point is for headset i have had problems conecting thru the advanced menu (2) but it worked thru the Comm conection, i don't even have to enter the key, it seems like it tryes 1234 0000... so i recommend going to the option 1, and there pairing your headset.
the other thing i noticed is when you pair a device, if you got the wrong key on the first atempt even if you enter the right one after it will not pair, so the solution is pressing back refresh and connect again and then enter the right key.
at least it worked for me
cheers
Timothy
Thanx for your guide, unfortunately it still will not connect. either option 1 or 2. I tried entering the pass code 0000 but it fails to connect and says the pass code was incorrect. If i try the option of no pass code it says it has connected, however the BT headset does not respond with hte usual 5 x flashes of the LED.
I still can not get connected :-(
Can anyone help me?
I'm trying to connect a jabra 3030 bluetooth headset with my x1. He finds the headset and i must enter the password. its an standard 0000. When i enter this and press ok i get the message pin incorrect, unable to connect. The device of my friend (htc) accepts the headset and can use it.
What can i do??
thanks in advance
i have that same headset and the phone does not even ask me for the password. The phone itself tries out the most common passwords (0000, 1234) and pairs the devices.

My phone wouldn't recognize my new Plantronics Discovery 925 headset. I tried pairing with a samsung headset too, it wouldn't recognize that either. But my phone recognizes other phones and works fine. Please help.

First and foremost, what ROM are you running? Are you on stock? Rooted? What modifications have you made, as those are the most likely culprits.
If the answer to all the above questions (save for stock) are no then I perhaps asking Plantronics or google about your phone/headset might work better as its likely that one or the other is defective.
I bought the phone only a week back and I have not made any changes to it. In fact my friend and I got our phones together. His phone is not recognizing the headset too. But my headset works fine with other phones of any make.
I have and use that specific headset on my Nexus S. And it works and pairs right away. Have you tried resetting the bluetooth before pairing?

Did you do anything particular before connecting your headset or did it just show up on the devices list?
Resetting the bluetooth as in switching on and off? Yes, I did.

Sorry, I dont understand. How do i set the headset to pairing mode? Please explain.
Folks, I finally managed to pair my headset with the phone. It is working fine now. Here is what I was doing wrong. I was trying to pair my device with the phone by just switching on the device and scanning for devices on my phone. When I try to scan, the device would not show up on the list.
This is because, the device was not in pairing mode. In the Plantronics Discovery 925, you need to switch off the device, power it on back by holding the power button and keep holding it until it flashes red and blue. This is when the device gets into pairing mode and it shows up on the phone's list. All this has to be done while the phone's bluetooth is ON and it is scanning for devices.
Hope this might help someone. My thanks to all those who cared to reply.
That's great you figured it out.
but here's for future reference:
Plantronics Discovery 925 (Pairing)
Pairing the Plantronics Discovery 925 to Your Cell Phone
1.Put your phone into pairing mode
This can usually be accomplished by going under settings in your menu and selecting Bluetooth. Follow the prompts to "find a new device." If you are having problems, refer to your phone's user guide.
2.Put your Discovery 925 into pairing mode
Start with your headset off. Press and hold the call button until the indicator flashes red and blue.
3.Select the headset in your phone's Bluetooth device menu and enter in universal key
Your phone may or may not ask you to enter in a key code. If it does, the code is always four zeros: 0000
4.You are paired up!
That is a rather ridiculous process, with my motorola I just have to flip the mic boom open and it works.

It's probably straightforward for some brands, not with others. My Jabra BT3030 still needs passcode entry for the initial pairing. After that, just turning it on pairs it with the unit.

Uh what? They're talking about the pairing process, you're talking about the connection process. Every bluetooth device every created in the history of mankind has to go through a pairing process. After the initial pairing, they all connect to each other automatically, your motorola is no different.
I have been unsuccessful in trying to connect my Galaxy Note with my JVC headunit of my car. The weird thing is that the same unit has no problems connecting with my Galaxy Tab.
Anyone else encountering the same problem?

I had a similar problem with the headunit in our car, the Vlingo app was stopping the pairing connection from completing, once Vlingo was disabled it paired ok, then turned Vlingo back on and all ok.
It may not be the same problem but hope it is of some help.

Sorry, I should have said turn off launch on Bluetooth,
Go into app to Voice talk screen - menu - settings - ensure the Launch on Bluetooth box is NOT ticked, then try and pair with head unit again. The Launch on Bluetooth was stopping my Note pairing to my Nissan Connect head unit, once paired you can turn Launch on Bluetooth back on again.
Hope this helps
