dropped my phone - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i dropped my phone not to hard on the carpet i got this kind of blue patch near my message icon any way to remove it

Is the blue spot located UNDER the glass plate of your screen?
Does it "change" (size or colour) when you press on it?
There are a few "reset dead pixel reset" apps in the market...
I do not have experience with them,
but they seem to work! Id suggest you try one of them...
Dead Pixel Detect and Fix
Pixel Fixer V2.0.0
Dead Pixel test (4 1/2 user score)
Pixel curer
to name a few....

1st. Not death pixel but dead pixel. It makes difference...
2nd. I have 1 dead pixel. It appears as a black dot in any of three RGB colors.
There's no need to download any program from market.
Just enter 3845#*970# to enter Hidden Menu, then choose Device Test, then LCD Test, Manual Test. IMHO it's the best solution for testing bad pixels/subpixels.
And I suggest you to RMA phone again.
from the first day i got this phone it was have 4-5 dead pixels
i bealive it's only luck

One pixel on when switched off

I have recently noticed that my screen seems to be always using about 40-50% of the battery even when the note is off for long periods of times. I have also noticed that I have 1 pixel that stays on red even when the note is off. I need to be in complete darkness to notice. I keep my screen on min brightness and I dont use the automatic adjustment, and it is in standard mode (not dynamic).
My question: is this pixel keeping the rest of my screen on? is this likely to be a hardware problem? Is it covered by the warantee? any ideas or is anyone having similar problems with excessive screen battery use?
It seems unlikely that that red pixel would keep the rest of your screen on. Your battery problem is most likely due to a rogue app.
To troubleshoot that pixel, get an app called dead pixel detect from the play store. It flashes different colors on your screen so you know if the errant pixel stays red, or changes. I'd also recommend that you reboot the phone and check again, to make sure it's not a software thing. If that pixel is actually a dead pixel, then yes, you can avail the benefits of warranty. The service center person will most likely try to talk you out of it, though.
same here, the pixel stays on for 30 seconds even if i lock the screen.. i can advice an LCD test: type *#0*# tap "green" or "Receiver (White)" and look if you have one pixel black (look very close to screen), if yes you have a dead pixel like mine

[Q] Pixel Stuck or Dead

Hi All,
Actually I bought a new Note-GTN7000 but later after four day's I've noticed that there is a tiny green dot appearing on the not exactly but middle of the OLED. It is not a dead pixel as it appears on a dark background only like when we go to the settings menu(Dark Background) & it disappears when I switch of my handset.
Could be a pixel stuck.
Q!: Is there a way to take it off.
Q2: Tried different apps like JscreenFix and pixel fixer for about an hour or two continuously but didn't work out.
Any other possible way from any body???
Please help.
I once had a stuck pixel on tytn 2 and this is what I did:
Hold your finger or "closed" pen on a pixel(so you'll know where it is)
Turn off your screen
Press the spot on the screen very hard
Turn on the screen
This procedure helped me to "unstuck" the pixel. I cant guarantee that it will work om amoled but I think it is worth to try
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
Pushing the spot hard and Switching the display on, Heating up the screen works for LCD Screens. Not LED.
Don't try these silly steps posted everywhere, You might end up permanently damaging your screen.
The only solution to this is, Stop looking at it. I have a stuck pixel on lower left corner as well. They don't spread nor hurt anything. In fact its so tiny that You wont notice it until you continuously focus your eyes on it. In a couple of days you will forget that It's their.
For LCD Monitors back in the days - Samsung only replaced Monitors with new ones if "only" they had Five or more dead pixels. If you have one , or two you're stuck with that for good. #yearsago

AMOLED = burn in.

I've recently removed the soft buttons in favour of LMT and now can see some blue burn in along the bottom edge where the buttons used to be, visible on a white or grey screen.
Anyone else got this?
Same issue on my phone... Using lmt and hiding softkeys. If i look at a white screen i find a light pink stain on the lower left corner... Hmm... On k9 the up and down button are grey. If i compare both i can clearly notice a difference in shade... But, It aint a crt... So nothing burned in... Its just a production tolerance, i think. Like a pixel error on lcd. Hadnt you root the phone and hide the keys maybe the failure would never have occurred to you. I think i will observe it and give another feedback later.

Screen Problem

Hey there guys,
Im having some problems with my Huawei P10 screen. On the left side of the screen on top there are some yellow half circles. One month ago there was only one and now there are three of them. Like on the top left of the screen. When the background is white you can see them clearly, when the background is black or any dark colour they almost disappear.
Do you think its a pixel problem or what? Like dead pixel or stuck pixel. If u know what it is can u help me to fix it?
Its not any big problem but its ugly to see them when u use phone.
Thanks
Are they present when you boot into Fastboot? Just test it, there's a white background. If yes, it's a hardware problem, maybe it's the display itself, or the flex cable or the display controller, or the display connector.
Go to a repair store, if you still have warranty send it to Huawei of, if you're able to do it by yourself, buy a display replacement (with frame).
