[Q] LGNPST can't find Skin.dll - LG Revolution

Installed LGNPST. Everything went smoothly during download and installation. However, when I go to run LGNPST_CT, an error pops up saying "Failed to load the Skin.dll," and the program doesn't start up. Not sure what to do here...any advice?

Try re installing. What are you running on your computer?

I had the same issue. The way I resolved it was by uninstalling the program, copying the zip to my C drive and unzip them there. Then reinstall and everything was smooth sailing.

I had the same problem. A quick windows search showed me this: When you installed the various components, the installers will have created a C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST directory. The Skin.dll in that directory is the same one that LGNPST_CT.exe is looking for. Just click and drag (or copy and paste, or use the copy command in cmd if that's what you're into) to put it in the directory you are running from. That's what fixed it for me!

Thats it thank you, I ran this a long time ago during first gingerbread update and couldn't for the life of me figure out why it wasnt working now, but that did it.
Back to Broken out 1.1 hopefully.

Android market update.

Apparently google was pushing new market update to all the android runnig phones, is th market update process working in our froyo port? I'm asking as I still have the old version of market.

Right here at attachements.
Works on my Kaiser
Just open the .apk with a file manager on your phone and install it.
It will replace the old Market.
Nice looking market BTW
Update doesn't work on mine...
Running Gingerbones 5.1 Odexed... Possibly due to the fact that Market is Odexed in this build.. :-(
why need update? the current market is working well on cyanogens 6.1, or no?

Oh, god no. My phone and pushing are not a good combination.
Can't connect my phone using ADB.
When I want to start up my pc and my phone is connected, it just freezes at the Splash screne until I pull my phone out. Then it boots normally.
Yeah that's probably because it's odex'd. I don't really remember on wich one I tried. If I'm not mistaken it was on Clemsyn's Final Froyo Build.
Downloaded it somewhere off Megaupload. Got the link from some video on YouTube.
I've managed to odex the updated market, and use Terminal Emulator to transfer it to my /system partition overwriting my original market, and it seems to work. Granted I had a gapps FC at boot, but restarted without a hitch.
So far no other FCs, and Market is fully working. Though not sure how many apps I still have available. :-/

I did similar, got the file, sent it to the kaiser, odexed it, sent it back to pc.
Edited my androidinstall.tar, replace old market with new one.
Its working so well, that it detected a gmail update and installed it perfectly (no manual input).
the old market gave me errors doing that, had to manual update.
Nice
Great work
could one of you post the odexed new market?
many thanks!

same here on polaris with scoot's Kernel With Separate Cache Partition.
also no dialog to choose between charge only/hard drive/etc when connecting to booted pc via usb.
adb does work though, just make sure the drivers are installed on your pc, connect and wait for >120s before calling "adb wait-for-device". once your prompt reappears you are connected and ready for e.g. "adb shell".
use "adb kill-server" and "adb wait-for-device" when you get disconnected (not exactly stable) - i use WiFi Keyboard and WiFi File Explorer from market instead.

[Q] How to install apks?

Hi,
I'm unable to install sideloaded APKs. This is what I did:
1. Ran the 'NookColor Tools'; checked 'Allow Non-Market Apps'; and rebooted.
2. Copied the apk to SD card (in a new folder My Files > 'Apps').
3. Installed Astro File Manager from the Market.
4. Navigated to the location of the APK; clicked on it; selected 'Open App Manager'.
5. Clicked 'Install'.
Says 'Install Blocked - Installation of downloaded apks is not supported'
I must be doing something wrong, any help would be great!
Thanks
Try unchecking the box for Allow Non-Market Install, reboot, check box, reboot, should work now. I had to do that after autonootering.
Good luck!

I'm unable to uncheck that either. After unchecking, if I re-open NookColor tools either instantly or after rebooting, it remains checked! But still, apps won't install.
I'm in the same boat .. no matter what i can't get that box to stay unchecked
I had the same problem, try unchecking, rebooting, I think it will be checked again then when it reboots just uncheck and recheck it (no reboot). That worked for me. I'm glad too cuz I though I was going to have to go through all that adb bs lol.

no you can follow tut here and adb via usb

video tut here go near the end after he roots nc

or us a file manager astro or file manager of your choice i believe
I had similar issues after using autonooter from 12/25. After playing with nook tools I gave up unsuccessfully. After a reboot I noticed it was working. For the life of me I can not figure out if the reboot did it or something else but it is working now. I was ready to go back to the old method of manually editing the database using adb.

You shouldn't, I've rebooted a few times and have had no problems.
Here's what i've done to get around this.
Appmonster on my phone. Download and backup the app on my phone.
copy the app onto nook somehow, i use dropbox.
then i use rootexplorer to copy, change from r/o to r/w, paste the apk, and then install it.
So far working well, trillian, amazon, and google reader. Not sure about the potential of installing versions of apps that could brick or screw up the nook.
Laptop not Recognizing Nook after installing ADB
I tried the boot over and over, but it did not work. So I followed the instructions on installing SDK and ADB and was able to install applications. This meant replacing the Nook Driver. I was not able to install the files via the USB cable, but used ADB wireless instead.
Now I can no longer see the Nook when I connect it by USB to my laptop, running Windows 7. I used to see the Nook as my J drive and the SD Card as the K.
I plugged it into my Desktop and and able to see both.
I am guessing this has something to do with the Driver on the Laptop (which I replaced following the instructions in the video). Is there a way that I can get my laptop to see the Nook and the SD card again without losing the ability to install files?
Thanks

[Q] Tried to flash my first rom..

Well I got a stock 1009 built captivate that's running the official froyo. I decided to attempt to flash my first rom.
I used superoneclick to root and installed titanium backup and backed up my apps and data. That worked fine.
Then I used odin3 one click and restored to jh6? I think. And that worked fine.
Then when I went to use the One Click root. Where you have to copy the root file onto your internal sd and rename it update.zip then run the .exe file. I got some error in the green cmb prompt that I couldn't read quick enough and the phone rebooted into recovery and when I went to reinstall packages it told me that update.zip didn't exist? Rebooted normally and it was still there in the internal sd.
Is there something that im doing wrong or another way past this? For the hell of it i left the update.zip, rooted using superoneclick and installed rom manger and all of that worked fine in till it rebooted to recovery again.
basically I cant root with one click, but superoneclick works fine..
Edit: Noticed I put this in the wrong forum. Can a mod please move to q&a?
using regular one click is easy enable debugging and dont mount the sdcard clcik root and cmd window pops up starts daemon copies file and reboots phone select reinstall packages and should be good. If not delete the update.zip and start over remember dont mount the sdcard so it is accessible from the computer.

place in /mnt/sdcard/
this location is the root location of "my files" known as root of SD card
not to be confused with the phone's root directory that you need root explorer for.
It's placed in the right area. When I move the file, rename it, then ummount the phone and run one-click. It reboots into recovery fine and when I reinstall packages it gives me error about a signature?

when you run the app, you will notice 2 radio buttons on the right hand side.
click on RAGE
make sure your phone is in USB Debugging mode and that you have all your drivers installed.
Alright thanks alot. Im still doing a little research on the rage method. Basically I just root and have that option ticked? Then I should be good to go?

I used psneuter for the root method inside s1c (should be default). I heard prior to using s1c that gingerbreak wasn't working on this phone.
Well after breaking the command prompt on my laptop(vista...) I got it on my old desktop. Problem was computer sucked. So if anyone has a crappy computer. When it freezes. On your phone endebug. Wait about twenty seconds. It'll freeze again. Debug it. It'll freeze again. Undebug again. Itll process about half of the information. Then this time it wont freeze but it'll wait for you to debug it again. Then it'll install superuser and test it. So Gingerbreak. Freeze. Undebug. Freeze. Debug. Freeze. Undebug. Ask for root. Debug.

The original was not a real zip, it's a rar. Rename it to .rar and open it with 7-zip. If not, re-download it. Preferably here: http://shortfuse.org/?page_id=2. Supposedly that one's a bonafied zip.

Yeah, this is the complete set of drivers for this device (nothing omitted). It will go through the process of setting up the drivers one more time, and then never again (it should find everything).
Ok so I used the drivers from that page and when I use S1C it gets to running psnsuter (or gingerbreak both do the same thing) it never gets any further.. I even waited like 15mins.. I have usb debug on and internet connection mode. I tried the manual adv method and when I run the. rage command in adb shell adb restarts but my phone never shows back online doing the adb devices command... I am at a loss.... have used both win 7 and win XP.

EOCD not found

I'm attempting to root a friends nook hd+ on a different computer as I already rooted mine on the other. My problem I'm having is when I attempt to run the makeroot.bat file to root it I get an error
"EOCD not found, not Zip file 'makeroot.bat' is not a valid zip file"
I never encountered this error when I rooted mine. What am I missing here?
ADB is set up and the nook shows up when I type adb devices. Thanks for your help.
Never seen that, but from the look of error message, it sound like you are attempting to unzip makeroot.bat rather than running it from command prompt.
