samsung note cpu - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

after rooting my samsung note with kernel version 3.0.15-19220ZCLP1-CL131270.I notice my cpu speed 1200/200 on setcpu.I thought 1.4hgz.Is there any problem with the kernel.By the way, using TeamRocket Rom.V1.5beta

Thats because the kernel is underclocked and it is not a problem with the kernel...

[KERNEL] DookMatt 2.2.2 kernel with optimized OC and LG Lagfix

This is my kernel based on 2.2.2 kernel released by LG! This kernel has LG touchscreen fix and I've added OC from HERE, ext4 and btrfs support (btrfs is experimental) and VPN support (tun.ko module).
If you would like to use this kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/H3HQT7WMSY
Do not forget to make nandroid backup first.
Packaged in koush's anykernel for compatibility with any rom.
PS: Thanks to Mik_os for his patience
PPS: With my kernel I managed to use 806Mhz and it's works very well and it's stable for my phone.
Could you define optimised OC? How is it different from the OC supported by other kernels.
Thanks.

I used a new patch and this one, modify only 2 kernel files!
I can go up to 806MHz, which is really the top frequency my phone can handle. And amazingly enough, the cpu spike isn't there What changes did you make?
Work like a charm, but lack insteractive mode in setcpu and when you put it in power mode it stay at max freq. Thanks for your work buddy.
hope you include this on your next ROM release.... more power to you sir!
Dook - is it the same updated OC code that Mik used in his latest 2 builds ?

Arrrrgh this does not contain any of the patches needed by Gingerbread to function at least remotely fine .
Tried this kernel with LOLv1.2(froyo2.2) ROM,,Doesnt even stand up to SIppolo's super optimised kernel..After flashing this rom, phone got a little slower but like u said no more cpu spikes !!! THnx for posting

so this actually worked? would flash and and test it on some games. and would post my feedback after. Thnx!

Anyway, i prefer use my phone at 729MHz or 768MHz!
yep.
confirmed, cpu spike is not there.
thanks!

can anyone confirm this?
is it just for 2.2 or is 2.2.2 affected?
Can I flash this kernel into my AmberHome ROM (2.2)?
it has so small transitions in speed like from 600Mhz u cud scale upto 645Mhz..I like this
EDIT: yes u can check it out on any rom..It will work on any rom as it is packages like koush's style

[Q] Overclock Galaxy note without flashing other rom?

Is it possible to use stock rom from Samsung to overclock the Note to 1.7Ghz? My phone is already rooted.
Yes, download Tegrak from the market

Overclock

Hi ,
I have a few begineers questions , I have a galaxy s that is running gingerbread 2.3.6 , is rooted and had a voodoo kernel (with recovery option) . I was thinking of possibilities of overclocking , can that be done with the setup I have ?
thanks in advance
You can easily overclock your phone with a root access with an application like this :
bit.ly/fnUFCD
There are lots of applications existing.
You can see on your kernel thread on this board what frequency is supported.
try Tegrak overclock or NSTools. Find other apps on Market.

thanks for the info guys , installed busybox and android overclock , but appears the kernel is not able to be overclocked as I got a message and the max frequency showing is 1000 mhz , would anyone be able to recommend a kernel that would suit - would like to keep things preety simple and straightforward at the mo
cheers

Semaphore is the best http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112908
thanks again , my phone is showing jvz suffix at end of kernel - show the semaphore jvz is the way to go ?
I am trying to avoid an expensive paperwight
Semaphore kernel can work on all gingerbread roms. So it is safe to flash semaphore 2.5 on your phone.

Will overclocking the phone significantly reduce battery life? Or cause any degradation of the phone due to excess heat?

Battery use will obviously be higher with the processor on more clock speed but there's no problem with the temperature. Remember, always overclock in minor steps, check stability and in this way you would get a stable phone

Overclock Kernel for XXLSZ

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a kernel to overclock my n7000 with XXLSZ JB.
Is there one available at the moment?Which one do you think is the best for this?
I tryed to download Hydracore but the link in the original thread is expired.
Thanks in advance!

Will it overclock without an OC kernel?
yes it works on Philz kernel
i tried tegrak and my note restart after few quadrant test in a row at 1.6 gzh oc in free version with stock mv value

its called instability.
some CPU cant handle that high frequency..
Recognized Distributorâ„¢
mine is on 1.6 OC and never had this issue. i have not changed the voltages though..

There are 3 groups of chips, some are better some worse some average for oc. Search old treads about hydracore.

Maxfu Hydra Nirvana problem

Hi! couple of weeks ago i flashed "Maxfu_HydraNirvana_n16' on my n7000, worked like a charm good battery life with 1600Mhz oc, but recently i realized that video player and video recording are not working, is there any fix for this?
It could be because of the OC'ing. Try another kernel.

Any recommendations for a similar kernel? i really liked nirvana was very stable excepting the above problems.

No recommendation.. this is purely a test to check if OC is the problem of video crashes.. choose a stock kernel like Philz

There are no problems on Philz kernel, but the thing is that the phone is kind of slow

Yes then its because of the over clocking. It happens with other overclocked kernels too. Another option is to use the same kernel and get the max CPU speed back to 1400. Not sure if its going to work though.
