hello everyone i am new to these forums/Pda/windows mobile. i know im supposed to search it for myself and all but im a full time working student and havnt the time to search through all the topics. but anyway i need advice, im getting an At&t tilt tomorrow and would like help on the whole process of making it better ( removing the bloatware adding apps and what not flashing the rom) oh also im subscribed to T-mobile so getting it unlocked is 1st priority. and how to use t-zones with it. i know most of u will start flaming as u read this topic but id really appreciate it if someone would gladly link me the Topics to wat i need much appreciated thanks

I'll reply first because most will just ignore this redundant post. I work full-time and go to school full-time and I make time for most things that interest me.
So. I went to google.com and in that search box I typed "Sim Unlocker Kaiser" and got this:

That solves your first problem. I would suggest taking time out of your busy life and reading that post before doing anything on your new phone or it will be hell to get it fixed if you F it up.
For your other questions I will let you search for them as I have just showed you my searching method.
Go to google.com and in the search box type in " *what you're looking for* Kaiser" If you attach Kaiser at the end I will assure you 99.99 percent you will get the top results taking you straight to a post on this site. Hope that helps. I think we could close this thread now.

So... you are busy.
OK - so am I - personally - my recommendation would be to not do anything with your Kaiser when you get it - that way you have to take almost no responsibility for it. Ifanything goes wrong you can take it back to AT&T and make them fix it.
Now - if you take time to personalize it and add and remove things from it you risk it doing things that you will have to fix not AT&T. That will slow you down in your busy life.
You really should not be here as I see trouble coming for you. You will be tempted to try these things without having the time to recover from problems. I am not wishing it on you - simply stating what looks like the obvious.

Unlock, then apply HARD Spl from this forum.. Browse through the ROMs here then flash one.. Best is to flash with a plain vanilla one..
Also, you havent told if this is your first pocket pc..?

Well dude this isn't the matrix and we can't just download info into your brain. You're going to have to learn the old fashioned way.

just take time to read everything...dont rush if u dont have time then dont to it yet...its better to take time to read then try and do it wrong and then u have to spend even more time fixing it

It's a good thing you're a student. That means you understand what you will have to do to LEARN. You'll have to pay the price and invest time or money if you want the premium results. There are many here who would help you customize your phone for $130/hour. I suspect you don't have the funds to support that so you'll have to invest the time.

I know people like to give you a hard time when you are new, if you have any specific or general questions send me a PM and I will help you out.

if it's basic stuff that can be postponed a bit after more important things are discussed you can always PM me,i'm on here daily while at work mondays through fridays

I understand completly asking the question like that. Sometimes I have spent hours trying to find out what I need. Though I Have no live.

rom flashing service

does anyone know someone who does a rom flashing service i just cant seem to get to grips with it and have 2 kaisers i would like done

In my opinion, anyone that actually answers this and says 'Yes, I'll charge you $$$XXX for flashing the phone' is doing a disservice to the ROM developer, as they're the ones spending countless hours providing excellent alternatives to stock--whereas the person flashing would be making a profit off of, what, 30 minutes worth of work?.....
Be patient, read the wiki, there are lots of threads that tell you step by step how to flash a phone. Virtually impossible to brick one, and most important of all, you can make a donation to the person that matters, the ROM developer.
And besides, Flashing is fun!!!! You go to people one day and say "LOOK AT THIS!!!", and they'll roll their eyes...then you'll go to the same people the next day and say "NOW LOOK AT THIS!!!!"--and then they'll roll their eyes, this time impressed at your money metal flashing skillz...

sorry but i do not have the resources to do this i have spent hours already and i msuffer from depressive illnesses so i have very few reserve for this kined of thing as well as my wife four kids and everything else the world throws at us.
some of us need the help of those who have gone before to show us the way,
so please if someone could help me so that i can have a rom flashed phone i would be very grateful, if they want to do it free of charge i will send the phones myself i dont care just need some help

If you need help with flashing ROMs please be carefull to whom you send your phone(s).
Make sure that it is someone who is thrustworthy, it would be a shame if you'd send it to the wrong person.

Follow this directions and in 20-30minutes and download all the files, you'll be flashing rom on TYTN II in no time. I would personally start with Hyperdragon'sIII or L26...'cuz they made even for starters like me. Give it a try... and then explore other GREAT roms. Why would you pay something when you can do it yourself?

Need someone to program my Ty Tn II

I purchased an unlocked Ty tn II and can't get it to do what I want. ie 10 sleep mode won't go away, etc, etc.. It's taking too much of my time to trouble shoot. I live in Evanston, Illinois and wondering if anyone wants to help me. I prefer some that is a senor contributor here has the same phone and already knows what to do. Thanks. Steve

Anyway, goodluck and have fun here on XDA. Just remember to ALWAYS use the search button in this forum.

I can tell you that HTC just released an update for the KAISER/TILT on their site. This has to deal with the issue of the power settings not staying where they should be at. Check it out at HTC America under product support and then under TILT. This may help...

This site is called "XDA DEVELOPERS", not "XDA spoon-feed those to busy, lazy or stupid to work things out for themselves".
How come noobs are getting worse or lazier? There now seem to be a few of these "I want someone else to do it for me" threads. I guess I now know where the sacked Lehman Brothers employees have gone.

WOW!!! What a nice first post, you really contributed by starting this thread. When I first started here I was scared about flashing. But I read and figured it out on MY OWN, such as life.

Mea Culpa-- Still would like programing assistance
I want to apologize to anyone I've offended by my post. I have been reading this site for some time now. I am in awe of the things that many of you have been able to accomplish with these phones and the programing. It is amazing. My complements to all contributors and inquirers alike, I find both helpful.
However my area of expertise is not in programing such phones. Just as clients come to me for marketing services, I too was willing to pay for some programing expertise. In these tough economic times, I thought it would be a welcomed opportunity. And yes, I am willing to try anyone that knows what they are doing, e.g. junior or senior contributor.
I did read about the Tilt upgrade thank you, but I read on the ATT site that it wasn't working. Additionally, when I go to the download screen at HTC the download button is not on my computer screen. I can see it in the print preview, but not on the screen. I installed Kaiser tweaks and that didn't do it either.
So, I gave it a good first shot, and not that I am throwing in the towel, but it seems to me a great opportunity for the right person. I don't just want to fix the current problems, I want to keep going and install some of these great programs and perhaps a new OS. Take care and keep up the good work.

They are not a XDA devs but they use XDA and another forum as source to make money.
People stay away from them. Devs are only the one who should have profits from their hard work in my opinion. Also theirs prices are so high for things which Devs share for free with all of us.

I dont think anything is wrong with it. They have taken the time to research and learn how to root and install custom roms. Some people cant comprehend or are just scared to do it themselves. I also imagine that the people who want a custom rom and are afraid to do it themselves have already come accross XDA, but still cant do it.
Although it sounds expensive to us, to some people might justify it, and the people who are doing it, should get paid for their time.
Edit: Although I do agree that the Devs should get a donation for their work.

I could look at this two ways.
Initial impressions were "OMFG... stealing hacks"
But then if they offer a guaranteed assurance that if it bricks, your covered, then I think £40 is fair enough.
I wouldn't mind paying £40 for a guaranteed root. It's sensible.

i cant see the problem myself. its not as if people are been forced to use the service. the only reason i wont root is i just know i'll brick my phone. i simply dont have time to read countless pages on how to do it, and after spending too much time messing about on my hd2, i dont think the better half would be as forgiving again. so, £40 for a service which i'd quiet like but i'll NEVER do myself seems pretty good to me. as for people shouting for them to be banned from xda......just LOL.........

Hmm, the free market filling a niche for people who can't be bothered to learn a few new skills - it ain't new people, I recall the exact same indignation when Android first arrived for the hd2 and people sold 'installation kits'.
There's no way to stop it, no matter now easy the noob guides are - you only have to read the cries for help in the forum to realise that some people simply cannot understand something written down.
You'd hope their conscience made them donate to the dev's, but I wouldn't bet on it.

ps: i just checked your link and the HUGE WALLS OF TEXT just puts me off, i'd defo pay for the service if i ever wanted to root my phone....

this. i tried walking a guy (he was asking help on craigslist) thru installing android on a hd2, and he couldn't follow my directions...

If devs don't mind and there is a buyer willing to pay for the service why not.

for charging £35-£40 for the service ?, perhaps £15-£20 might have been better.......

I don't seem the harm if the devs are ok with it either. I mean back in the days, before rooting, people were paying people like davinciteam to "unlock" the phones to get the bloated carrier software off the phones. No, Davinci is not exactly the same as these ebay listers, but it's the service you are paying for, bottom line.
If you don't like it, don't use it.

Not everyone is smart? Are you kidding me? A 10 year old could follow the instructions and complete the s-off and root and flash a custom rom.

hey guys, I was a windows phone lover, but as we know, i got forced out... so as I'm nkt a snob, I won't own a iPhone, so im trying my best with Android, but am not happy how intrusive Google is, I don't really care for Google either, and I feel they're watching my every move, and id like to ride dirty if I want to without someone watching me.. if... I felt like it.. sorta creepy if you ask me, plus Google ruined my buddies phone for downloading a video game they say was pireted, so im not ok with that, as the phone was my buddies property.. so.. yeah, that's my feelings on all this, miss windows, don't own a computer, just a boy and his stalker android phone, that always seems to have issues with software, afraid to turn my phone off, because for whatever reason, android phones don't like to turn back on.. for me anyway, hello everyone

thank you, I don't know how to do that sort of thing, and ware I live, we don't have phone lines, so no computer access, so I would need a way to do stuff either buy using phones own storage, or SD card, or to another phone, and a male to male cable linking the two phones together,, but as it seems, I'm guessing my Stylo 5 isn't root friendly, so idk, thanks for any help info you can provide, also, I'm having major problems with senior members, I posted a help question, and no one has responded to it, but if I comment on others posts, asking if they fixed the problem, or what I should try, it gets removed, then I suggested someone with a broken phone, hook a Sim card up to another broken phone, after getting the one networked unlocked, if it still didn't work, and putting in the other phone... and got message not to post illegal stuff on here.. it wasn't illegal, seems everyone wants to keep removing my posts, and talking crap to me, but no one wants to help me with my phone problem, I don't understand, I need help, not policing, thanks, if there's anything you can do to guide me or help me, it'd be appreciated
