Because you tried to bypass flashing Chinese boot.img and Chinese rom. Not everyone is that lucky. You need to flash the chinese boot.img then the Chinese rom and phone will boot up fine. Then return to recovery and flash any other rom you want mate. This is why I posted a thread to get this working guaranteed

i have the same problem, i flashed the chinese rom, boot.img and RcMix3d, and my phone still hang when flashing bindroid I-scream xl. Any solutions ?

You need to do a full wipe using bindroid full wipe script and then flash rom then wipe cache, dalvik and fix permissions then reboot. To guarantee a successful flash you need to flash boot.img then Chinese rom and allow it to boot up. After it boots up reboot into recovery to flash iscream.

Tell us what procedure you followed exactly, because we will probably be able to help you better once we know... Have you tried downloading the rom again because you might have got a corrupted download and that could be the reason for it not working...

First i wiped data and cache then I flashed chinese boot.img then i flashed*RCMix3d Runny Xl and booted to recovery and flashed BinDroid_SensationXL_TotalWipe lastly i flashed BinDroid I-Scream v1.0.zip
I dont think it is corrupted because it is 416 mb like the original file but i will download it again.
My suggestion would be...
1. Boot into fastboot and flash chinese boot.img
2. Go to recovery and flash chinese rom, let it boot up, once thats done boot into recovery again
3. Flash BinDroid Total Wipe then flash RCMix rom and let it boot up
4. Boot into recovery again and flash Total Wipe again
5. Flash I-Scream, once flashed, wipe cache, dalvik and fix permission just like shingers said
That should work, a lot of people try to get away without flashing the chinese boot.img and chinese rom and then hit problems later on. If its done right you should have no problems at all flashing any rom. We don't.....
Some people are lucky enough not to have to do it that way and they get away with it, but not everyone can, so thats why me and shingers always tell people to do it that way because its guaranteed...

It should say in command prompt that you have flashed boot.img successfully

looks like the trouble is from my phone. I will flash any other rom.
Thanks for your time.
i reinstalled the zip file and it finally worked
sorry for disturbance
i did every thing possible but i still have hanging XL
If you flashed the Chinese boot.img and rom then rebooted you should not be hanging mate. Start again
1. Flash Chinese boot.img
2. Flash Chinese rom by anzhi
3. Reboot and complete setup
4. Return to recovery
5. Bindroid total wipe
6. Flash rom of your choice
7. Wipe cache and dalvik and battery and fix permissions
Reboot

OK relock bootloader then flash ruu possibly 1.05.404 or device specific then unlock and root then recovery then boot.img then Chinese rom and let that boot up. You have to boot into Chinese rom. Once done back to recovery bindroid wipe then rom then wipe cache dalvik batterry and fix permissions. Should be fine

Hi guys,
I'm new to the android world. I was playing around with my mum's HTC(was on ICS) and tried to root it, but im not sure if its rooted now, but i have ****ed the phone up hardcore
The problem is phone stuck on HTC Logo and won't boot. It's possible to get it in bootloader and it looks like this: I have unlocked it HTCdev.com
*UNLOCKED*
S-ON
HBoot: 1.28.0004
RADIO-3831.15.00.20_M
eMMC-boot
I dont get a connection to the PC, but after first time plug-in it installed the drivers.
So now my question is how can I get an new Ruu on this phone. Would it be fixed by me installing the ICS RUU.exe file?
I can't seem to find it i do have the code from the HTCdev, but i do not have ANY clue what to do..... Please help me out
To get the correct drivers that are needed for the phone you either should install htc sync then uninistall it again or you should go download my tool, it has an installer for drivers for windows, just not windows 8.
About the code from htcdev, that part you have used correctly. That is a bin file you used to get bootloader *UNLOCKED* and since its saying unlocked you should be good to go.
After unlocking the bootloader you can go to bootloader and flash a custom recovery. To do that you can simple install my runnymede aio tool and press either twrp or cwm recovery button. It will pop up with a box that says "Press Ok when in bootloader" and since you are already in bootloader you can just skip that part and press ok.
after it has flashed recovery it will try to boot to the system just go to bootloader again
When you are in bootloader you can go into recovery.
After that you can flash any custom rom but if you want to stay on a custom rom i will recommed you to flash to specific roms first, found in the "guide" in my Runnymede AIO Tool. And then after that flash any rom for our phone. I know it sounds a little stupid and is is also not cofirmed giving any diffrence but it looks like the htc sensation xl is much more hard to brick if these two roms have been flashed.
If you just want to go back to stock , then flash a custom rom and boot it up.
Then use the function in my tool from fully booted to s-off just remeber to use the one that says your hboot version.
A note here: Hboot version 1.25 = 6.25 and 1.28 = 6.28
after that is done boot the phone up normally and run a ruu.exe file and you will end up in a stock locked rom after that.
Thanks Anders3408 i have followed your instructions and have downloaded your tool(which works like wonders).
Now i am facing another problem. My current rom is a custom one (1.56.401.2), but it tells me there are no hard disk spaces and i keep getting Contacts Storage stopped message (even after i press send report to HTC or even if i declined it....)
I have a similar problem....i'm S-ON UNLOACKED....hboot 1.28.0006 ....i can only have fastboot connection...i even tryed an RUU (RUU_RUNNYMEDE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.2_Radio_20.70.30.0832U_3831.16.00.16_M_release_258303_signed) but still bootloop! :/ I'm driving crazy!!!
ps: tried to flash a custom recovery but doesn't work!!! (during flash i was on s-on because i couldn't flash hboot s-off )...The phone has no root.
It you have EUROPE CID then flash this
http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.ph...odel=Runnymede
If link doesnt work then here the same
http://hotfile.com/dl/145704399/e91...822.10.10.12_M_release_222101_signed.exe.html
Install that Europe Version of GingerBread.
When finish let it boot and when setup is finish update via OTA to ICS..
If this still doesn´t work then S-off with this. ----->
http://unlimited.io/runnymede.htm
You will change your hboot version. Use that 4445 version in download. Its unsecure hboot.
Follow the ADB steps carefully and when done reboot into bootloader again. Flash custom recovery like TWRP
Wipe cache,dalvik,system
Then reboot into bootloader again
FastbootADB and run the RUU from PC

It's booting into recovery and not bootlaoder.
If you boot into the boot loader from recovery it works right?
You used HTC Desire C All-In-One Toolkit go through the options and see if you have checked some thing.

Good Luck
Thread closed at request of OP
Hello,
I've been following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466436
When I came to the part where I had to fastboot the Chinese ROM my phone stopped working. I followed it straight out, and when I chose "Recovery" as the guide told me to choose, my phone only boots with a black lit screen and then turns black completely (no backlight), but the touch buttons still work and the phone vibrates.
The part it failed at was this:
1. You cant just flash a custom rom on this phone, firstly you will need the 'Chinese rom' which is here http://hotfile.com/dl/148413075/8990...01713.zip.html and make sure it is on the SDcard part of your phones memory. Make sure it on the root of the SDcard because it will be easier to find later. Then you will need this rom RCMix3d Runny XL rom from here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56143145/RCM...ny_XL_v1.2.zip (thanks to benjamin.j.goodwin) and make sure that is on the SDcard too with the other rom
2. Then you will need to download this file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7&postcount=18 it is the 'Chinese boot.img' and will need flashing from fastboot again. So put the phone in fastboot and extract the 'boot.img' from the 'boot.rar' file and put it in the fastboot folder on the PC. Open the command prompt again and type this... fastboot flash boot boot.img ... This should only need doing once if you're coming from a stock rom.
3. Once you've done that you will need to get into recovery. From fastboot select bootloader and then look for recovery, it should be under fastboot if its worked correctly. Select that and the phone should then reboot and go into 'CWM' (recovery). Once there you will need to use the volume keys and power button just like when you were in bootloader. Go down and select 'Factory Reset/Data Wipe' and select that, the select yes on following screen. This will take a few mins (don't worry if it looks like its not doing anything). After that go down to 'Wipe Cache' and select that. and then go down to 'Advanced' select that and on the following screen select 'Wipe Dalvik Cache'.

The bolded text is what I have done, whatever comes after I never got a chance to do. Nothing I have tried so far have worked.
I'm very new to doing this kind of stuff and I thought I'd try the three musketeers ROM out, so far I haven't gotten this far. I need help in getting my phone to work again so I can continue the guide.
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums. Like I said, I'm new, and please move this to the correct area (If any mods around). Sorry for any troubles, and appreciate any help.
Thanks! <3

I'm really sorry, but how should I do this? :/
It keeps telling me it failed and remote: signature failed.
I think I did it now.
I unlocked bootlader again.
I flashed the recovery "Clockwork" OK.
Now I have no idea what to do next? I tried putting in the Chinese ROM again and then hit "Recover", but I only come to black screen and nothing happens.
RUU.EXE doesn't work either, tried it, it says security/update fail or something and it just stops.

Flash the ROM
Boot up the new ROM
S-off the device
Then install the ruu.exe.

Thank you,
TWRP worked much better.
I put rom on USB storage (i had to format it first to be able to open it, so it was completely empty and i just put file in there)
I did wipe/reset and cache/dalvik wipe.
I flashed the ROM succesfully.
I tried booting it up, the HTC logo comes up as well as the BEATS animation, then HTC logo with "Quietly Brilliant" beneath, and it stops there, nothing happens. Also, it starts making the startup HTC signal for less than a second, then it's quiet.
The ROM I put in storage and flashed with was "Total_Senseless_SXL-v4.1.1".
No idea if I did it right but I will try the Chinese ROM as well. As said, I'm new to this.
I get a problem when trying to flash the runnymede_ax918 .zip file.
It tells me this:
Installing '/sdcard/runnymede_ax918_11511_10171
Checking for MD5 file...
Skipping MD5 check: no MD5 file found.
E:Error in /sdcard/runnymede_ax918_11511_101713

Error flashing zip '/sdcard/runnymede_ax918_1115

And a red text "Failed".
According to the guide I have to install the Chinese ROM first which is what I'm trying to do here.
I flashed the boot.img first, entered TWRP, factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik
Find the Chinese .zip file (runnymede_ax918) and press install and this problem occurs.
That guide is old, you do not need any other chinese ROM's and suc, just unlock bootloader, flash recovery, root, S-OFF and after that you can have whatever you want on your phone. The thing with cbinese ROM and.such was before S-OFF was available.for the device...

Delete ROM from zip and put it over again. And ofc try and open the zip on the computer first. If you can't open it on computer download the ROM again.
BTW. That is just how I did it, since no one really knows what its so special in that ROM and no one knows for sure that it makes Amy difference at all when using it or not, you can do as lexmazter wrote and don't use it.
The reason for me to flash that ROM is that I had read in here that when that ROM has been flashed hard brick was almost impossible with some common sense
No matter what, if you delete or has wrong vold.fstab and formats the sdcard from PC you only luck will be jtag.

From what i know, that Chinese ROM was supposed to have unsecured boot, don't know how that helps and i don't get the ideea behind it anyways, so the right way to do it is to Unlock Bootloader -> Flash Recovery -> Root -> S-OFF -> Free to try whatever custom ROM out there you want, hard bricking is pretty hard even without common sense, i personally tried to do it and i failed, i think you need to know how to brick it in order to brick it, but to avoid that, make sure you do things the right way, read things before you try and so on.

a simple way to do a hard brick:
flash a rom with only has the vold.fstab for hboot 1.25 and device is 1.28 , then mount sdcard for pc and format sdcard (pc says you need to do it before it can read the sdcard) - the result = BRICKED
Hello guys! Im from Brazil, sorry about my english, isnt my fisrt language!
So I seemany post here and tryed to do all commented on that post and nothing for me, so I took the liberty to post a new one focused on my problem to try understand where I mess.

So recently I saw the Skydragon ROM and do all the same history, download the ZIP file. put in a SD CARD enter in a recovery mode and do the wipe data/factory wipe data cache / wipe davilk cache (using CWM) enter to install zip from sd card, select the right one e put INSTALL ...
Appear to me the AROMA Manager Installer, select all the right things without "girly" things, .. what I mean its, read all the things correctly and goona click on next next next next... anyway... the install goes good! no problem, when the aroma close my CWM return back, so I selelct reboot to try the new one ROM and here start my problem:
Appear a msg that my recovery maybe lost something , do u wanna fix? I select yes and the the system reboot.
Now the phone stuck in a bootloop on HTC green logo, the phone try to boot up and reboot and the second time appear on the top of my phone "Enter in recovery ... "and reboot again .... and stay doing all this f*** every time..
I follow some tips about others users and have the same problem. What I do until now:
1. download recovery TWRP CWM and flash erase flash recovery ... and continue with the same problem
2. extract the boot img from the last custom ROM I used was worked withou problem (Ultimate HD) and flash boot ... get the same error.
3. to do the S-OFF all the tutorials says I need stay in ANDROID and at moment its impossible due the bootloop I just can enter in a bootloader

1- What's the ROM that got you stuck? Link please.
2- What recovery (and version number) were you using.
3- You're firmware version is "missing", recommend you get S-Off, use http://rumrunner.us/ with ARHD 31.6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023

Corrupt download, download again
2.6.3.3: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
2.6.3.4: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
Do not use a download manager on that site, it will result in a corrupt download!! then verify MD5!!
if MD5 is OK:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then follow instructions for S-On devices.
Thanks... I gonna try this tips..
Just one question, how I check the MD5?

here's one for Windows: http://www.winmd5.com/
original MD5 is on the download page, you need to compare/verify that to the one you downloaded; if it does NOT match, then download is corrupt.

Hi all, my first post so please be gentle.
I have managed to get my HTC One in a bit of a mess. A while ago I rooted it and installed CWMT and an Android revolution ROM. All worked well.
I then decided that I wanted to upgrade to a new ROM (4.4 Viper One) and also wanted to remove CWMT and install TWRP as I read that TWRP officially supports HTC one whereas CWMT doesn't. I also read (I think) that the latest TWRP was required for flashing the 4.4 rom I wanted.
I then very stupidly had a brain fail and tried to install the 4.4 Viper ROM via CWMT without being S-OFF. The Viper install started and data was wiped, then the install failed.
Now the phone just boots to the bootloader. If I select recovery I see a very brief CWMT screen then the phone reboots to bootloader. I am OK using the SDK and fastboot etc, so I flashed TWRP (I was told the flash was successful) and rebooted. It rebooted to bootloader, so i tried to enter recovery and got a brief TWRP splashscreen then and my phone rebooted. I do not think that my phone now has a ROM installed and I have no recovery I can boot to.
If I understand correctly the best way out of my situation is to flash the correct RUU for my phone, but I am having trouble locating the correct one. I have found some via HTC One Guru and think the correct one for me is:
File Size: 1.1 GiB - Downloads: 690
MD5: 81bda125ec09b57255024526b1952ca5
Comments: Stock Vodafone UK ROM 2.24.161.1 with graphical aroma installer. Includes the ability to flash the Stock Recovery and also Stock Radio.
OTA Updates, when available.
modelid: PN0710000
cidnum: VODAP001
cidnum: VODAP102
cidnum: VODAPE17
cidnum: VODAP405
cidnum: VODAP304
cidnum: VODAPD18
cidnum: VODAP120
cidnum: VODAP110
The model ID above matches mine ie HTC_001 and I am on VOD carrier. I cannot remember my CIDNUM as I am at work but can check later.
My question (s) to you very helpful people are:
Am I taking the correct approach for fixing my phone? I think I need to get the correct RUU zip for me, then flash it using fastboot USB. This should then take me back to a stock rom and recovery and I can then flash a newer recovery and install a new ROM (i now understand S-OFF and TWRP will be required for 4.4 roms)
I would really appreciate it if someone could let me know if my thought process is correct and I am trying to do things in the correct order. Also, if someone could confirm what the correct RUU is for me it would be appreciated. It will need to be flashed via Fastboot so I guess will need to be the .zip as opposed to the .exe?
If any other info is required from me to identify the correct RUU please let me know and i can post the data a little later whern I am home.
I feel I am quite close to understanding what I need to do and would like to learn how to do this for myself, I just would like someone to confirm I'm going the right way, and to point out any important points I may have missed.
Thankyou VERY much!!
Chris

Didnt read all of it, but stuck at "entering recovery", is fixed by a "fastboot erase cache"
as for TWRP, did you download from
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or
http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
and you didn't check MD5, right? download managers don't work on that site, and you probably got a bad download, so download again, verify MD5 (eg http://www.winmd5.com/ or any other tool), and if it verifies correctly, then
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and then you can enter recovery.
EDIT: and S-Off is only required for 4.4 GPE ROMs; Sense ROMs should be fine
Thanks for the reply!
Maybe my issue is easier solved than I thought. Maybe all I need to do is "fastboot erase cache" and flash recovery.
My TWRP came from the teamw.in site (can't post link) and you are right when you state that I didn't check the MD5 so thanks for that point, and also thanks re the point re S-OFF and certain ROMs..I didn't know that.
I'll try erase cache etc..when I get home and update.

still for 4.4 (GPE or Sense) you'll need TWRP 2.6.3.3 or .4, CWM is not (fully) compatible yet.
download one from above links (avoid download managers!!) and make sure MD5 matches, then flash recovery as stated above, and you should be good to go.
OK I'm good now
I successfully flashed a recovery and installed a ROM via ADB sideload. I initially flashed TWRP but it asked me for a password (?), so I re-flashed CWMT and went through the sideload process.
Thanks very much for the help and support..it is very much appreciated. This site is an awesome resource and I would have been lost without it.
Thanks again!

OK, thread should shows as solved. Thanks
Edit: I can't work out how to edit the thread title. If a friendly Moderator could update this to solved i would appreciate it. Thanks,
