[Q] Need help! Galaxy Note does not boot anymore. [SOLVED] - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Galaxy note does not boot anymore. I can boot CWM but when I flash a ROM or format /system the device hangs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Have you tried wipe cache from recovery?
And wat exact happened before error occured?

Thanks for your quick reply
I got stuck on the Samsung N7000 screen after a reboot. I'm running [ROM][04.04.12] imilka's AOSP ICS v08 [IMM76D/4.0.4]
Formating data/cache works but when you install a ROM it just sits on installing update. I've tried flashing multiple ROMS.
If I select unmount /system or format /system it hangs as well. Same happens when I try to restore my backup from yesterday. I can only boot CWM or download mode at the moment.
I've only had HTC phones before so I don't have any Samsung experience.

Which kernel you had ?
What exact error occurs, when you flashing ROM?

I was using the kernel that came with the ROM.
I was just doing a reboot after the device has been powered off for a few hours. Nothing special.
Whe I try to flash a ROM now it just hangs at installing system forever. My guess is that something has screwed up the system parttion because I'm unable to format it now using CWM.
Any other way to try repartition the device?

try using flash with PC Odin
here is stock ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
download N flash using PC odin, you can find installation guide in post#2

Trying it right now. Phone is in download mode. Odin reports:
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> CODE_N7000XXLC1_CL1003701_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 is valid.

for about 5 minutes. Is it normal that it takes this long to start the connection?

It seems this is connection error
Try reinstalling driver on PC
connect device to dierct main board USB slot(rear side PC)
close kies/anti virus if running

Problem solved. Thanks a lot for your help!
Selecting 1 option at a time worked (maybe coincidence) Did PDA > Phone > CSC.
Phone boots
N7000XXLC1---------2.3.6-------2012 March----------N7000OXALC1-----------Open Europe----------------------------- Download (wipe)
now and I'll probably keep it that way untill Samsung released ICS.
Learned something about Samsung phones and Odin today. Used to do everything with ADB and fastboot with HTC devices.
Thanks again!!

How can I know that the rom is suitable for my device ?
Here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Use dr. ketan's list to get firmware for your device. In theory it's best to use the one that came with your phone - but honestly, every other should work. Choose one from directly rootable according to location/carrier your phone came from.
still not working, odin failed
First uninstall kies n install just driver from stock rom thread(same u hav mentioned in some above post). There is 32 n 64 bit drivers, install according your OS of pc.
Connect direct to pc, dont use extension cable, n preferably back side of pc
Put device in download mode (vol DOWN + home + power) once it will ask to continue, thn will enter in download mode
Now reflash rom.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
i am using laptop Vista 32-bit system is that make difference?
May be, rwmove kies n just install 32bit driver
N try
Confirm your device in download mode
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
removed kies , re installed driver turned off antivirus with firewall
restart and try again with same message, failed
Have you put device in dowload mode?
Dont put rom file too deep inside folder. Just put in a folder on root directory.
If not works then try another pc at last option.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
yes used the mobile in download mode
i will try another pc
thank you
have you fix your problem??? ihave the same situation,,pls help me
no not yet, someone advise me to use jig usb
Succeeded to download the rom and the device restart but get back to the first problem
freeze on galaxy note start screen
Dr-Ketan,
Could you tell me what could cause a phone to get stuck at factoryfs.img? Also my galaxy note can only mount to USB storage from clockworkmod, if I mount sdcard, it won't show up on the computer. So only USB storage can be seen in computer. Does this mean the sdcard is dead? Thanks.

Bricked Tab :(

hi people,
So here is my issue, i rooted my tab after having it about a year and wanted to install a custom rom, installed RomManager from the market and installed the clockwork recovery mod, BUT i picked galaxy tab 10.1 when it asked me what phone i had, as there was no other option. I checked on google first and it seems other people with the 8.9 are using the clockwork recovery mod so i thought it was safe.
Now its dead and powers up to the samsung logo, and then dies again.
Help! (currently i am draining the battery as it is mentioned in another thread in this forum)
Thanks
(tried the APX thing in nvflash and it was a no go)

It's alright. Go to the guide in my signature and read up about ODIN because you will use it to save your tablet. It's all there in FAQs, How-tos and the Toolkit at the end.
i highly recommend checking out nirogu325's guide for an explanation of ODIN. it should solve your problem
Download Odin

Power on the tablet, you may need to charge it.
As it is powering on hold down the power and the vol down button
Go into download, not recovery
Connect your tablet to your computer with the USB cable
Open up Odin
You should see box that says PDA, click there and it will want you to find a file. Choice the recovery file
Make sure the box that says partition or repartion are NOT check
then check start and wait. DO NOT touch or disconnect the tablet while it works

I am glad you have your tablet back in working order.
Well now that you have the stock recovery, you can attempt to flash the Clockwork recovery again the right way if you want to. You now know how to recovery your tablet if you have a brick again so you don't have anything to lose

If Odin recognizes the tab there is a chance to recover it. What rom are you trying to flash? Go to sammobile.com and get the stock gb rom.

thats what i have been using; when i try with odin3 v3.07 its not recognizing the tablet
I know it doesn't make sense but keep trying to flash the rom. I've seen it not work for many tries and then it would for some reason. If odin recognizes the tab you are not hard bricked. You should be able to get it to operate again.
Also, use the gb Rom, uckj7

you won't be able to restore data from gb to cm7, not system data nor app data, so you need to reflash gb and start again
Here's my kit to do that quickly and easily, unzip and read.txt

Hi!
I downloaded your kit. I am having the same trouble as ranejitendra.
I followed the Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide. But when it was time to reboot after installing CM9 i just went into a bootloop. When I tried to restore my backup it says it is successfully restored but when it reboots it just stops at the Samsung logo screen.
When I use the kit I firstly let it be in the logo screen and Odin recognizes it becuase the ID:COM turns yellow and says 0:[COM10]
Secondly I tried to start it in recovery mode. Same result. In downloadmode it is not recognized.
when I hit start this comes:

Tried that a number of times with the same result. It just stays in Samsung bootscreen (without triangle) and Odin says <ID:0/010> SetupConnection..
And nothing happens...
Thanks for the tip though.

[Q] Problem with format data

I installed tablet metrics with xposed installer. Then I used my phone normally for a few days and it started...
The phone started to reboot without reason. It just went crazy. I couldn't use it. Every time it turned on, 15 secs later started to reboot again. So I tried to uninstall xposed installer but didn't work. After doing that, my phone didn't boot anymore. It stayed in the "samsung" part. Then I went to recovery mode and did all the wipes possible, wipe cache, wipe factory reset, etc. Did everything but one, format data. And didn't boot. And as a last hope I did format data.
I shouldn't have done that.
Now I don't know what to do. Need some help, please.
I have installed the TWRP recovery. When I try to reboot it says "no OS installed". There is no way to install from TWRP a new OS ?
If you don't understand me or want me to add some more information just put it in the comments.
I don't speak english very well as you might know. Sorry.

"Take out phone battery, start odin with phone plugged in (battery still out) and load the files you need, hold the 3 button combo for recovery and insert battery whilst still holding the buttons (may need a second pair of hands to help), the phone should now be recognised by odin so hit start. ""
and yes the phone is being detected by odin (v3.01), When i load the pda file and click "START",
