What is common battery life on ICS? The reason I'm asking is because my battery only last for about 24 hours before I need to charge again, and it's no matter what ICS ROM I use. I came from Darkys ROM where my battery lasted for about 2,5 days and it's a bit disappointing with the new ROMs.

semaphore v1 has just been released, how could you have gone four days unless you time traveled.
And how often do you use your phone?

i get on average 36 hours with dark knight 4
Day or two, depends on the usage ;-) AOKP M4, Semaphore 0.9.7
After 14 hours of use I usually still got ~30% battery. After that I charge it again as it's better for LI-ION batterys not to be discharged completely.
I don't get all those discussions about battery life since smart phones are no cell phones. Today there are jacks nearly everywhere, so you can easily recharge the phone. Plus it's very bad for LI-ION to be discharged to 0%.
Specs: SlimICS 3.2 with MNICS LR 143 conservative governor, 1800mAH battery.

It's annoying if you constantly have to think about whether your battery is running out or not or you can't go anywhere for the weekend without your charger.
I usually don't discharge my battery to 0% more like 20-25%, but I just did it a few days ago and did a full charge, which improved my battey life a lot! I guess it has something to do with the phone displaying the proper percent, and a full discharge once in a while probably corrects the battery percent displayed on the phone.
Battery lasts about 2 days on ICS for me: SlimICS 3.2 + Devil2_0.64_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_XL_20120405 (smartassv2)
aokp build 31 + semaphore 1.0 (smartassv2 + sio) lost about 1% in 2 hours of idle..
with very light usage (7 minutes of calls and a hour of 3g) i've got 71% after a day(22 hours) of usage...so i think it is equal to gingerbread roms
NEW ICS 4.0.4 EXTRAordinary_4.0.4_beta with default kernel (Glitch B6)
I am proud to say that the battery is really good. My phone usually was out of juice by 5 pm (games, movies, etc). Now it's about 50%!
May b i sud also switch to ics as my battery drains in 12hours. I use 1hour call, 2hr of web surf n may b hour or 2 in playin games. Ryt nw m using faryaabs v7(galaxy s2 looks)

If the display is off and DIDLE is active, it could be that you come through 3 days or more, but if you only turn it on for checking Mails or something else the battery is sinking so that you can see it.
I'm with 10% at evening with 1500 mah original SAMSUNG battery if I charged it over the last night with normal usage.
ROM etc. in signature.

You should specify your usage. It's almost impossible to say if it's good or bad without the details.
If you could push the battery for 2.5 days(60 hours +/-) ROM/kernel not important, I guess your usage isn't very high.
I have no problem getting 2 days with my low usage on Slim ICS and Semaphore.
But I charge it full every night so I can avoid getting a useless phone the next day.
I can go 18 hours with heavy usage. 4 hours screen, game, surfing, other stuff and a lot of listening to music. I try to dim the screen and use black themes as much as I can.

First is my 4g connection......I don't lose it at home like I did at all, not even once since the update.
Second, the dag gone battery won't die I have the extended, After using the phone all day yesterday and using my flashlight last night, almost for got the 7, 1 minute videos I made, this battery is at 73%. The stats are telling me I have been on battery for 21 hours, 27 minutes and 37 seconds. THATS AWESOME
I updated and for 2 days my battery ate at 15% an hour, then on day 3 everything reversed and like you my battery usage is amazing. I posted some screen in another thread, at the 12 hour mark I was still at 84% on a stock battery. When I went to bed this morning around 4 am I was still at 73%, that was nearly 21 hours of light to minimal usage. I was amazed.
As of this moment I have been up for about 4.5 hours and I am at 98% battery so 2% battery usage in 4.5 hours. Granted I have not really touched my phone but still that is amazing stand by drain. I think they fixed a memory leak in several of the apps that was causing drains. I am not one to be easily impressed but well played LG... well played.

This makes me want to update so bad but I hate to lose GV, CWM and Beats Audio
It makes you think... Either LG really screwed up and fixed a battery issue , or they did something amazing and made it 2x better.
Seems to be amazing took my phone off the charger at 7:30am used modestly all day, fell asleep and woke up at 1am the next morning and it still had 13% battery

I just completed everything yesterday, and my battery life was abysmal today. I really hope mine behaves like yours and is okay in a few days.
Well I got no recognizable improvement in battery or anything else. I am back on gingervolt until the next rom is made.

Wow... Second day and the battery life has definitely improved. Better than GV already.
Hello all!
I am new to the forum so I hope make it without any errors.
I bought the Optimus 2x cellphone last week whith the hope of getting the good one (the one without freezes and black screens) fortunately the cell worked very nicely. I updated to gingerbread and I feel it very good. But I have the good known problem of battery consumption.
Now I have a battery related question. After the update I charged the phone and get the battery indicator stuck at 100% I rooted the phone, installed Battery Calibration and calibrated the phone (left the battery to reach 0% then fully charged to 100% hit calibrate and left the telephone fully discharge again)
The issue is that when the thelephone was at 100% the voltage indicator of the battery calibration was in 4100 mV and here comes the weird thing. When reached 0% the voltage indicator was saying 2000mV.
My question is if this values are right. Someone with good battery duration and the Battery calibration installed could tell me the correct values? I thought that the phone shut down when battery was down to 0 mV but maybe the problem is that my battery is just using "half" battery.
Sorry for my english. I am not native english speaker.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
That is voltage, 3300mv = 3.3 volts.
Fully charged the battery would be at 4180mv, fully discharged is around 3200mv usually, or a bit higher.
The phone shuts off when the battery gets below the usable range, which I believe is slightly above 3000mv.
So yes a range of 3.3 to 4.2 volts is perfectly normal for a 3.7v battery.

Hi! Thanks for your reply. So I think I should get used to it. My battery doesnt last more than 12 hours of my regular use. A some internet browsing and some messaging. No music, videos, or games.
Someone recommends the extended batteries of 3500 mAh for this phone? That will make the phone last more time?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Reaper511989, I have bought an extended battery from HERE. It is fatter, but not ugly. And the battery lasts a lot longer. I use it when I'm travelling. I have no idea where in the world you are, but the battery was from a company in the UK.
Have fun. Anil
Huge Battery drain on DjangoManouche/Guestekrnl
Hi,
I was on CM7 kang of temasek and I decided to flash a stockbased rom.
Now I'm on :
DjangoManouche 1.2 rom
Guestekrnl V1.6.1
BB V20Q with ril
I am using Go launcher which comes with the rom
The battery drain is incredibly huge, 8 hours tops with very little use
Anybody some ideas ?
your lucky. i get 6. if im playing 3 albums of mp3's during work. nothing on. just 2g.
imagine if i turned on gps, wireless,bt 3g/4g ahhhh . (cant use fone how its sposed to be used) have ot turn it DOWN a notch. its to HUNGRY on juice. seriously lookin @ one of those MUGEN batteries.
6 hours is just wrong... in the most intense usage you should get 2 hours of screen ON time.. Wifi with 2g on trolling forums with browser/tapatalk should be 4 hrs.

6hours listening to music is pretty normal. If you want longer battery live, stop using the device.

Well in that case you might wanna repair your device since you seem to have the same issue with all roms. That should not be the case that it uses the same amount of battery without using it, especially if no app is loading the cpu....

well actually. cm7 i got about 5-6 hours batt life, cm9 i got no more than 8, GB (stock rom) can usually go from 5-8 hours. but with no bugs. so i am back on GB.
so i dont think device is broken/dodgy since the batt life fluctuates a little. depending on the rom.
my main issue is, ive been reading about ppl using froyo and going to GB and having mass battery drain. now im thinking about going to froyo.

Could you please share your findings? Since I'm having the same problem and started thinking about returning to stock as well.
The question is in the title
I'm just wondering that because, since the first ICS ROMs were published, I haven't found one that gave me a good battery life.
While I have a 2-day battery life on some JW1-JW5 ROMs with average use (1 hour gaming, some downloads, 1-2 hour music, and some dozens of SMS each day), I barely have 12-13 hours with the same use on ICS ROMs (no matter what modem -usually ZSJPG-, kernel or mode I use).
I regularly calibrate my battery with Battery Drainer (usually takes around 1h30 to empty it), but it's still not enough.
Could you recommend me some combos to improve my BL? Could it be linked to my battery, which is almost two years old?
Thank you
Slim + midnight, typically 4 1/2 hours screen on and about 18 hours uptime,
I was using Slim ICS. I have gone back to Gingerbread now because even with Slim ICS, the battery life is not as good as GB.
I used Gamerzrom v11, and now I have just started using DMORE 3.3. First impressions are good. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626068
That's the impression I got. I tried like every ICS ROM for i9000, and surprisingly, the best one for me was the Xperia S port.
Going back to GB
Hi,
I am recently facing a heavy battery drain issue with my Galaxy S. The battery drained fully even in stand-by, within 10-12 hours.
So, I now replaced with a new battery(the battery was already 2 years old).
But, with this new battery too, it gets only around 20 hours of light use(3G, Music, Video drains the battery a lot). Also, the battery never shows fully charged unless it charges for a full night. though it reaches 100% around 3 hours, but still drains within evening.
I got my motherboard replaced recently, facing a network issue and was using the old battery for the first 2 weeks before replacing it with new one(1650 mAH).
So, my question is, whether the problem is related to my battery or is it with my motherboard?
Can anybody help me in this??
Are you using a custom Rom

Also, the Battery monitor widget says the capacity is 1500mAH, but this is a 1650 mAH battery, the voltage level seems to be ok

I know this is going to sound strange, but is there any specific app you are using when this happens, the reason I ask a friend uses facebook and it drains his battery from a high percent down to 0 and shuts off the phone in less than a minute.
hey everybody
hope that you are all okay
i just ordered an extended battery with the capacity of 5000 mAh
here is its link
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-5000mAh...axy-Note-GT-N7000-Cover-Charger-/330750349616
and that was 4 days ago.
the problem is, the battery drains so fast
for example, when the phone is idle, it may use up to 12% in about 7 hours
and if i'm surfing the internet using mobile data (3g)
it may not even remains 2 hours of continuous usage
it also doesn't stay much with display on> about 3.5 hours only
while my friend who ordered with me the same battery
its battery remains much longer than me
could it be the rom i'm using or something else?
i'm on [ROM] Sweet ROM V11 LTA 4.1.2 [October 25th]
Use battery stats plus, free from gplay, to check what drain it and estimated time. Even the ori 2500 battery does better than that.
Sent from my phone.
I'd suggest that you return to stock ROM and make tests to see whether the problem is in the ROM or the battery itself.
