hey everybody
hope that you are all okay
i just ordered an extended battery with the capacity of 5000 mAh
here is its link
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-5000mAh...axy-Note-GT-N7000-Cover-Charger-/330750349616
and that was 4 days ago.
the problem is, the battery drains so fast
for example, when the phone is idle, it may use up to 12% in about 7 hours
and if i'm surfing the internet using mobile data (3g)
it may not even remains 2 hours of continuous usage
it also doesn't stay much with display on> about 3.5 hours only
while my friend who ordered with me the same battery
its battery remains much longer than me
could it be the rom i'm using or something else?
i'm on [ROM] Sweet ROM V11 LTA 4.1.2 [October 25th]
Use battery stats plus, free from gplay, to check what drain it and estimated time. Even the ori 2500 battery does better than that.
Sent from my phone.
I'd suggest that you return to stock ROM and make tests to see whether the problem is in the ROM or the battery itself.

What is common battery life on ICS? The reason I'm asking is because my battery only last for about 24 hours before I need to charge again, and it's no matter what ICS ROM I use. I came from Darkys ROM where my battery lasted for about 2,5 days and it's a bit disappointing with the new ROMs.

semaphore v1 has just been released, how could you have gone four days unless you time traveled.
And how often do you use your phone?

i get on average 36 hours with dark knight 4
Day or two, depends on the usage ;-) AOKP M4, Semaphore 0.9.7
After 14 hours of use I usually still got ~30% battery. After that I charge it again as it's better for LI-ION batterys not to be discharged completely.
I don't get all those discussions about battery life since smart phones are no cell phones. Today there are jacks nearly everywhere, so you can easily recharge the phone. Plus it's very bad for LI-ION to be discharged to 0%.
Specs: SlimICS 3.2 with MNICS LR 143 conservative governor, 1800mAH battery.

It's annoying if you constantly have to think about whether your battery is running out or not or you can't go anywhere for the weekend without your charger.
I usually don't discharge my battery to 0% more like 20-25%, but I just did it a few days ago and did a full charge, which improved my battey life a lot! I guess it has something to do with the phone displaying the proper percent, and a full discharge once in a while probably corrects the battery percent displayed on the phone.
Battery lasts about 2 days on ICS for me: SlimICS 3.2 + Devil2_0.64_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_XL_20120405 (smartassv2)
aokp build 31 + semaphore 1.0 (smartassv2 + sio) lost about 1% in 2 hours of idle..
with very light usage (7 minutes of calls and a hour of 3g) i've got 71% after a day(22 hours) of usage...so i think it is equal to gingerbread roms
NEW ICS 4.0.4 EXTRAordinary_4.0.4_beta with default kernel (Glitch B6)
I am proud to say that the battery is really good. My phone usually was out of juice by 5 pm (games, movies, etc). Now it's about 50%!
May b i sud also switch to ics as my battery drains in 12hours. I use 1hour call, 2hr of web surf n may b hour or 2 in playin games. Ryt nw m using faryaabs v7(galaxy s2 looks)

If the display is off and DIDLE is active, it could be that you come through 3 days or more, but if you only turn it on for checking Mails or something else the battery is sinking so that you can see it.
I'm with 10% at evening with 1500 mah original SAMSUNG battery if I charged it over the last night with normal usage.
ROM etc. in signature.

You should specify your usage. It's almost impossible to say if it's good or bad without the details.
If you could push the battery for 2.5 days(60 hours +/-) ROM/kernel not important, I guess your usage isn't very high.
I have no problem getting 2 days with my low usage on Slim ICS and Semaphore.
But I charge it full every night so I can avoid getting a useless phone the next day.
I can go 18 hours with heavy usage. 4 hours screen, game, surfing, other stuff and a lot of listening to music. I try to dim the screen and use black themes as much as I can.
Hey people,
I have an Galaxy S i9000 wich is about 2-3 years old.
Since a year my battery is draining a little fast, but since a month its sick and frustrating because it last -+3 hours when using whatsapp/music 70% of the time (7 hours with less use).
Thats not nice, and I thought my battery could getting weaker becaue my phone is almost 3 years old*.
ROM: Cyanogenmod 10, 4.1.2
Kernel: Semaphore 2.5, I9000XXJVT
I don't think it's just the rom, Android 4.0 was draining also (but still better battery life in comparisation with 4.1.2...)
Now my question is, do you think purchase a new battery for the I9000 will solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
lajostkm
It seems that the problem is the battery itself, i would try to replace it
Had the same case as you (even same rom and kernel) and i changed the battery... now it's a lot better with almost 24hrs of battery use between one charge to another

It's possible your battery has degraded but you can install the Better Battery Stats app to get a better idea of what is eating so much battery.
Thank you, I will purchase a new battery soon. One more question, are the smartphone batteries (SKU: 59974) from DealExtreme good? I mean, this is from a Chinese wholesale site (made in China) so I'm not sure about good battery performance.
Hi,
I am recently facing a heavy battery drain issue with my Galaxy S. The battery drained fully even in stand-by, within 10-12 hours.
So, I now replaced with a new battery(the battery was already 2 years old).
But, with this new battery too, it gets only around 20 hours of light use(3G, Music, Video drains the battery a lot). Also, the battery never shows fully charged unless it charges for a full night. though it reaches 100% around 3 hours, but still drains within evening.
I got my motherboard replaced recently, facing a network issue and was using the old battery for the first 2 weeks before replacing it with new one(1650 mAH).
So, my question is, whether the problem is related to my battery or is it with my motherboard?
Can anybody help me in this??
Are you using a custom Rom

was using, now reverted back to stock rom... still d same, barely lasts half a day.. with nearly no usage....
Also, the Battery monitor widget says the capacity is 1500mAH, but this is a 1650 mAH battery, the voltage level seems to be ok

I know this is going to sound strange, but is there any specific app you are using when this happens, the reason I ask a friend uses facebook and it drains his battery from a high percent down to 0 and shuts off the phone in less than a minute.
Have been used LG 2X since the first launch date and it was fine until when the phone getting hot and battery life draining fast quickly. It was about only 4-6 hrs from full charge. I have been checked to see what was running but nothing weird.
Normally how long does the battery run after says 3 years of using it?
Don't know. I can only tell that after changing mine .75 years ago, suddenly battery life improved with a factor 3; now I have +-24 hours.
So, it might be time to buy a new battery - I definitely recommend LG stock battery (low price compared to changing phone).
I've also 3 years old optimus 2x and battery was horrible. It was on 10% after some 6h of usage so I bought from ebay 3 different batteries.
One was from Hong Kong, 3500 mAh and battery dried to 10% in about 2 days. I could finally use my phone without worries but that battery is fat and my phone looked really ugly. Afther that I've bought Onyx battery with 1400 mAh. Battery is real ****. After 4-5h of usage it was completely out and afther that I've found on ebay battery from china with 2450 mAh (I recommend you that one). I can use my phone for abut 8h, also I've found some app on google play that actually improved my battery life so I can use that battery with 2450 mAh one full day without worries. Here is the link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gejos.android.batterysaver I really recommend you this app. First one that really worked for me.
If you've any questions P.M. me. Good luck
Try flashing a lite rom, I suggest tonyp's PA ROM, or install greenify

I'd planning to buy a new battery for my SU 660, so the higher the mAh is the longer the bat life is? Coz mine is 1500mAh

I have had my last phone for nearly 3 years and the battery life is horrible. Why not try a new battery?
Greenify is you friend.
Mates, when I was using cm10, 11, my battery lasted for about 12 hours, but when I downgraded to gb, the battery lasts for more than 2 days, so the os gives many thoughts to consideration.

3500 mah battery 10€ and gives you alot of juice. but the stand by of this phone is bad.. i can beter use it somethings the let is sleep. no wake locks. just bad... my baseband is good normaly. bref i dont mind my phone is fat. it gives me battery i want. so yeah
I've used my O2X for almost 3 years now and original stock battery still gives me 16-24h battery life with normal everyday usage. Well, i have two stock batteries and swap them time by time but still. No fancy battery saving apps, but i turn wi-fi/data off manually quite often.
Heavy usage can hold max 4 hours on one battery (screen on all the time, GPS on, multitasking)
Normal withstand 24 hours.
Hello guys,
i recently replaced my note 8 battery. i also factory data reseted the phone so i could reset everything. Now batteyr life is obv better. Sot get to like 3.5 hours of SOT but i still feel like its not like it should be. Before was getting like 2 hrs sot. ? battery is new and i also tried with another new batteyr for testing with same results. Now i installed accubattery and over the course of 3 days its says battery life weak and 2100 mah reported out of 3300. Also samsung members says battery life is weak. Anything im missing?
thank you
Edit:
triet *#0228# and says 0-8 battery block. have read on forums people says if less than 8 battery its bad. BUT my last battery also said 0-8 blocks and drained 40% overnight while new battery 5-7%.

Hard to say if it's a bad battery.
Best to install BetterBatteryStats app, record an idle dump and post it in the BBS thread (
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-2-2-05-oct-v2-4-betterbatterystats.1179809/)
There are some experts analyzing your battery stats and giving you advices, if you can optimize battery life on your device.

I replaced my battery a couple weeks ago too. Using Accubattery, it is showing that my battery is 2435 mAh. Funny thing is before I replaced the battery, it was also showing similar number, which makes me think if the shop I went really replaced my battery or not. Went back to complain and they just returned my money and didn't want to do anything about it.
I'm also wondering the same thing is I need to calibrate the battery, this is how I land to this posting.
Last night I tried to let the battery dies to 0% and kept trying to turn it on to ensure the battery had completely died and charged it overnight. This was suggest by one posting in Google. However, it doesn't give me any improvement as since I turned it on this morning to 77% only takes 40 mins with continuous browsing.
One posting said that I need to do a wipe partition cache. Which I haven't done. Nor have I factory resetted the phone.
Still trying to find how to improve, my last resort would be to buy new phone
Accubattery isn't accurate.
20% @ 617 ma gives you around 3000mAh.
A better question is what's eating so much power?
Galaxy Labs Battery Tracker is useful.
Karma Firewall can show you what's using bandwidth and power. You can also firewall block any app with it.
