Is there anyway to triboot cm7, cm9, and webos? - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Help?

Not that I know of, but CM9 is at the point now that you shouldn't need CM7 anymore.

See this old thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350754 AFAIK, nothing has changed.
I finally concluded it was more trouble than it was worth. I'm perfectly happy with the CM9 nightlies now and haven't thought to boot WebOS in Months. That said, if I had to have mic functionality now, I might feel different.

I dont know why you would want CM7 AND CM9. Almost everything on CM9 works the same as on CM7 I thought. I know you can tri boot Android, webOS and Ubuntu but I dont know about two androids.

how do you get ubuntu o it? and idk why but all of a sudden my screen is like totally discolored after an installation of a nightly. anyone else have that problem?

No sound after screen shut off

I have cm9 on my touchpad updated with the latest official nightly running great until yesterday. Today every time I shut off the screen I lose sound. I also used the headphones for the first time yesterday. Seems like several people have this issue but I have not seen any solutions.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you read the thread on rootzwiki for cm9, that is a bug in all builds, and has been since cm7.
I read that thread but was hoping someone had a solution.
I actually rebooted with the headphones still attached and then removed them. Since then the problem has not been recurring.
Hope this helps someone else.

aokp or cm9

So, I want help deciding. Currently I'm running cm9, and I've resized the partition to 12 gb. I know jelly bean will be functional soon. Should I stick with cyanogenmod or should I check out aokp. Any ideas?
I have been having some trouble with aokp. Such things as headphones not working or audio still coming from speakers while using headphones. I feel the cyanogenmod is still more stable and faster than aokp. I suggest waiting for cyanogenmod 10

Don't go for the Milestone 6 AOKP, it has too many bugs. You will find none of the links work for the other builds as we are no longer supported. CM9 is your ticket.

Milestone is unstable, and is not official. Goo.im has had a crash, which is why the TP links are dead. If someone has build 40 please tell me, and I will upload it

It goes straight to the desk clock which is OK... its logical even... BUT for some.reason the volume goes way down although the setting doesn't move.... so a lot of volume is lost... still OK because I don't need or want it loud... BUT I do use DI Radio and TuneIn radio alot, and when i pull it off the Touchstone it shuts the app down and goes to the desk clock again

OK tried that and I also installed Alarm Clock Plus and they both do the same thing... I can choose what I want to happen when I dock but that's not the issue.. they have no effect on what happens when I REMOVE the TP from the Touchstone... which is shutdown any app I had running and return to home

Well I have Dock nothingness on putting on my charger the browser reloads but that only takes seconds and with mx player a very brief pause on removing it from the touchstone no change whatsoever. So short of installing AOKP I've run out of ideas.
If get a copy of M6 I will try to replicate your problem , any particular app I should be running? I don't like it when I can't figure something out .

I have installed Tune in Radio and ran it on OaT's. with Dock. Nothingness. As usual a brief hiccup when placing it on the Touchstone but nothing when taking it of . Have/can you try it with a different rom just to make sure that you are only having this problem with AOKP M6 . If that's the case I will do a fresh install of AKOP M6 with Tune in Radio and see what happens so that we can try to find out whether you are having an AOKP fault or a general one .

Well when I was running the CM9 unofficial nightlies I didn't have that issue... I set default for desk clock when placed ON the Touchstone but when taken OFF it would just keep doing whatever it was doing
So when you removed it from the Touchstone playing TuneIn radio it didn't kill the app?
Edit: this morning did a complete factory reset and flashed the 0819 nightly with gApps and installed DI radio and acted as I suspected... when removing Touchpad from dock the app just keeps playing like its supposed to
So I wiped again and flashed AOKP and only installed DI radio and did as I suspected... when removing from dock DI RADIO stops playing

I also did a clean instal of AOKP and only installed Tune in radio just to make sure there were no clashes with other apps . And as you say it turns of when you remove it from the touchstone . I couldn't figure a way round. So I'm now back with OaT's .
Sorry I couldn't come up with solution, but I tried. Only plus for me was trying Tune in Radio , which is great.

[REQ] AOSP 4.1.1_r6 (JRO03R) ROM

I would love a stock ROM without any customizations based on the latest sources dropped in AOSP, would anyone be kind enough to build me one? I'm sure I'm not the only one to want this. I don't got the kind of net or computer to compile myself (the source download itself is 6GB which is a bit difficult for me at the moment).
If you're rooted I think this is what you want http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1905961
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I haven't look for just a stock build of that, but haven't seen one anywhere. The above link is just for drivers/binarys and isn't a full ROM.
Not sure but I think that is the major difference between the two?

This... it is only the new drivers.
Sent From My Toro+ via White Tapatalk
Be wary though, I think flashing the drivers mixes things up behind the scenes, for example I'm always running bug less beast for stability and I after I flashed the drivers everything seemed fine, till I went to the hospital and well they got free WiFi which would always connect properly, u just have to open a webpage to accept terms, conditions and then u can use their WiFi, well the other day (still on bugless beast) I tried to connect it would not obtain IP address what so ever so I couldn't even get to the splash screen to accept conditions and activate the WiFi, so I thought hmm I been here before plenty of times using my n7 with the mentioned ROM and had no issues with their WiFi then I started to think it was them and WiFi must be screwed up at the moment, and well that never changed my phone was fine so I decided f-it reflash the ROM on my n7 and boom that was the fix, anyways go download the latest bugless beast he updated to latest jro03r and is completely stock aosp with a nice reboot menu and camera/lock screen shortcut are included as well

Ok thx,
We'll be waiting for the next update from Google to solve this little problem.
I built the android-4.1.1_r6 branch a few hours ago, and have it running now. It has nothing
installed and is really useless as-is, I will upload it if you really want it.
EDIT:
I just went ahead and uploaded it

flash system.img, boot.img with fastboot
boot into recovery wipe data/factory reset
install Nexus7-Binary-Update-JRO03R.zip
or it wont work.
install gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip if you want
any Google services.
I also uploaded ClockworkMod touch 6.0.1.4 for grouper

Stable rom?

I'm looking for a good stable rom. I don't need the most features, stability and compatibility is more important. Currently I'm running fat and creamy, but I'm seeing a lot of graphical problems. A working camera would be a nice touch too.
Any suggestions?

I'm using jcsullins' cm10 preview and before that, the official CM9 nightlies. I recommend either of them.
Thanks I'm trying the latest cm9 nightly on gooim. Not sure if that is the same but it seems to be working good.

I'd recommend cm10 preview. Been running it for a while and it runs great! Why use cm9 when you can take advantage of cm10 with no side effects?
Well the tablet is mainly for my kids and they likely won't notice the difference. I read something about having to repartition for jelly bean. Is this true with that rom?
On a side note, does anyone have a properly working camera. On the roms I've tried, it kind of works, but the image is stretched so badly it's basically worthless.

When you install cm10, use acmeinstaller3. Might as well do a completely clean install.
Run acmeuninstaller, then in webos and preware download and install 'remove android'.
There are several good how to's here and over at webos nation forum. You can install cm9 using acmeinstaller3.
I would use cm9 official nightly, since your kids will be using it. I recently changed from that to jcsullins' cm10 preview and it's running mostly fine.
The camera on the TP sucks anyway....... It works much better in webos, which is a good os. Tweaked, Imo, webos is the better of the 2, but its lack of apps compared to android kills it.
Feel free to pm if you need some more help.

D4 Carbon ROM

I saw this in another forum
http://goo.im/devs/carbon/maserati/nightly
I have currently have 6 ROMs on the root of my card and this one as of late has been my fav. Since I didnt see it on XDA for the D4 I figured I would post something about it. Here is the link to the page the has the specs about this rom and it has a link to Carbons page on GitHub.
Hope everyone in this community enjoys this rom and happy rooting.
The only place I saw this (at the time) was on goo.im.
Thanks for this, it's better then vanilla cm but with a little extra.
Hopefully now this will get more attention.

try increasing it to say 4 messages or 5 messages

I have never had an issue with this...
Although users with GSM will...
It is sent out differently I believe.
Liquid is ok, although I do not use
anything higher then either 2.2 or 2.4.
This ROM so far is the best Ive run on my D4, after trying AOKP, Liquid, Avatar, and CM. The only issue I've run into, and I have never encountered before, is that my google contacts don't sync. Also on that note I can not edit, or create new contacts in the "people" app. I've downloaded another contact manager and am unable to edit or create in that one too. The contact editor will pop up then disappear in a matter of half a second. I have tried flashing the ROM on top of itself again, and also reinstalling gapps after wiping delvik cache. The rom is installed in slot-1 and I only have an AOKP rom installed in slot-2. Has anybody else experienced similar issues and had it resolved? I really don't want to go to another ROM after trying this one.
thank you for reading!
It is a shame this doesnt get more attention. This is a superb rom. I have more stability and functionality with this than CM or AOKP. Loved pacman's options of everything, but it was not stable either. This one just works! People really need to try this one out

I think it does. If you flash it, there is a warning in the flashing screen about ROM slot 1.
Anyway, one of the most stable ROM I've ever used.
There is an annoying bug with setting CPU maximum frequency (not sure if anyone else experiences it) but it can be fixed by using "profiles" on SetCPU
