Hey guys.so yesterday i flashed alfs 8a kernel that should work with cm7 roms.and i firstly installed gingerdx v24 and when i turned wifi on it only said error.i didnt freak out then.but when i installed minicm the wifi also gave error.and,wheni installed sde it also gave error.so,how can i fix it?can i fix it or i need to g back to minicm9?please help...thanks
its the problem with the kernel...(??)...ask alfs about that ..i am sue he will help

try v08, if that doesn't work, try to change kernel.

I got the same issue on wifi, i tried alfs 08a with GDX V29 and CM stable version ...same problem.
Can somebody recommend a more stable kernel for CM mod.

i have never found a bugs on this rom. i think you must renstall it again and follow the steps.

I have problem with my wifi in my x8. When I want to turn it on it shows "error". I don't know when it happened. I changed kernel, rom, wiped cache and did factory reset but it still doesn't work. What should I do with this? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I've seen in your signature that you're using
Alfs v07 ICS + CM7.2 GINGERBREAD V7 + microSD 4 GB Class 8
As far as i know, CM7.2 is CM source based rom. It require Tiwlan driver by Alfs V08 CM and not Wlan driver as in Alfs V07 ICS & Alfs V08 GDX.
So, you had flashed wrong kernel for your rom. Don't forget about alfs add-ons also
Edit: It would not trouble you to read through the post clearly right? The post had said that only for specific kernel will work for his rom
I have installed the latest alfs kernel for CM, but it doesn't work. It shows "error"
I don't know what should I do. I changed everything. Wiped, factory reset, changed rom...
Problem solved. All works.
This rom supports wifi with only Alfs v07 ICS.
I think you don't have a system/lib/modules folder in your rom.Create it and do a reboot.If it still doesn't work check that you have sdio.ko and tiwlan_drv.ko(wifi modules) in system/lib/modules.These 2 files are linked at boot,and if the folder don't exist you will get error.
Alfs 08-cm7 is new and for "standard" cm7 roms with tiwlan(wifi driver)

dude...they're the same...just the wifi drivers differ...if it didn't work on that kernel, i doubt changing all the drivers will change anything
The same? If u use gdx with alfs for cm7 kernel u get WiFi error cus of WiFi driver.
then use alfs kernel for gingerdx... not CM7 version, no other way i know at least
I was talking that my phones WiFi don't work with non cm7 roms very good so why would I use gdx with alfs for gdx?

Do u really say that i`m the only people in the hole world who`s phones WiFi just dont work with GingerDx and Alfs for Gdx kernel? Okei actualy it didn`t work with stock rom and stock kernel too, but it works very well with MiniCm7 and nAa kernel. Under dont work i mean its not error, just i can use wifi like very little time with stock and alfs for gdx kernel. Lets say ur watching a video from youtube and u can watch it like 2 minutes and then WiFi stucks turn it off and on again and then works again for 2 minutes.
Any ideas?
And plz dont just say, use MiniCm7 and nAa. GingerDx is freakin good rom but for me just the WiFi thing.

Reinstall your ROM and do a full wipe..

Omg, no. I have used like many many roms that run on Alfs for Gdx or stock and everytime this problem. All roms that run nAa 11 or Alfs for Cm7 or nAa ICS 01 and 02 Wifi works like it should be working. I have noticed that with stock and Alfs for Gdx kernel WiFi is very slow. Like why would anybody want to use these kernels?

08-GDX is for GingerDX or roms for old 07-ICS
08-cm7 is new and for "standard" cm7 roms with tiwlan(wifi driver)
But still, when somebody answers my question? Or says that he/she has the same problem? I cant be the onlyone
I was having the same problem, on ofw wifi was great, on minicm7 it was stuck after 2 mins, now Im on minicm9 and its perfect again

Try to reinstall the ROM with full wipe.
Ginger dx uses other wifi than other cm7 roms. It has the same wifi like stock eclair. nAa doesn't support that wifi driver so you must use alfs gdx or linuxDX. There is no way to run wifi on nAa14 and gingerDX.

Since v029, GingerDX supports nAa kernel. I'm running it now and wifi works fine on GingerDX.

If still not working then check your router. If thats ok try other roms to see if wifi works. If wifi doesnt work then there could be something wrong with the phone(very unlikely to me)

now i lazy change it.........now i use alfs09..........it all working
Well, I flashed alfs 09c kernel and then installed GingerDx v031b on one my relatives' X8 a month ago. But then I kept having bootloops. So then I flashed alfs 08a over the previous kernel. It seemed to work, but then it started to lag alot and an error msg related to google play service kept popping up. And soon I realized that I couldn't even overclock it as the OS froze every time I overclocked it. I'm using the nAa 11 kernel right now and it seems better than the previous kernels I flashed, but I still get issues if i overclock it. I flashed the nAa 13 and nAa 14 kernel couple of days ago, but the wifi didn't work so i went back to nAa 11. I almost forgot to mention that I've installed cronmod's int2ext+ script and increased the internal memory.
So is it the rom that's been causing all these problems? From what I heard, GDX is the smoothest rom for X8. So what is causing all these problems? I can't overclock and the kernels that people claim to be the best for this device doesn't seem to work properly. So please, could anyone end this misery?
Any kind of help would be appreciated.
