I need someone to let me know if they found a fix for the symptom on these apps. When i go to open them they force close. After that, it causes the default browser to force close. I have to uninstall them and then reboot before the default browser works. I've replicated this action on several occasions. Anyone else have a problem. I'm running Cyan's newest but it's happened on older builds as well.
If this is in the wrong forum then i apologize but it's too confusing on where to put it. I'd like the wise ass commenters to keep it to themselves.
Those being helpful, i'd appreciate your input on solutions.
I also would like to know the pros and cons from people who have tried both apps. Thanks!
It might help to get a reading of the logcat printouts.
(the android SDK has the tools (DDMS) to get to the logcat, wich tells us what exception happened during the FC)
Hi All,
I am very new to galaxy tab.
I am running on official gingerbread, flashed following the guidelines on the site. Other than a checksum error it went smoothly and working just fine.
I have another problem though. When I hold it in portrait mode, trying to move up and down with my finger causes the screen to shake.
Somerimes more sonetines a little less but it is always there.
In landscaepe mode it almost does not exist, working smooth.
I tried doing a lot of search but could.not find anything on it.
unfortunately I did not pay attenrion if it was hapening on stock froyo, did not stay on that long enough.
Charging or not does not affect it.
Being suspicious about screen protector I rwmoved it but no change
Did anyone else experience anyrhing similar?
Thanks in advance for help.
Same problem here
Hi, I have the same problem here, I did woked on froyo for about a day or two, and the problem was not there, I upgraded to Overcome 2.0 and the problem is now there.
Similar to you, on landscape the problem is less evident, but still there.
In my case, on you-tube application, I don't have any shacking.
I hope someone finds a solution, problem seems to be software-based.
I just checked it, you are right, youtube does not present the same problem.
Lets hope for a solution from the experts.
Cheers
anyone?
this shaking is driving me nuts......the screen shakes so much when held down down that it pretty much renders google maps unuseable.
HELP PLEASE!!!
is it a screen sensitivity issue that we can tweak or something?
i've been googling for a month for answers now but no luck...
please please...

Hi guys, there is a similar topic here in XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14354988&posted=1#post14354988
I have the same problem in my Galaxy Tab, and I show in a page in fgfaria.com
I now suspect it may be a deffect in some specific feature in some library used by some apps and not used in other apps.
I installed Android SDK in my PC, and created an simple app following a tutorial, with a list of countries that can be scrolled up and down. In this very simple app, the problem doesn't happen, just like youtube.
I've found an app that could potentially solve the problem, but my GT is not rooted, and can't use it. It's called "ILITEK Touch Utility" and it's available for free in Android Market.
Let me know if it's useful for any of you.
Regards,
Fabio
My tab does exactly the same thing as per your weblink.
The app i have download but once i hit the calibrate button, I somehow get denied access.
Any way around it? This shaking is getting old......sigh
Software, not hardware
Hi all,
In addition to touch test apps and youtube app, there are some other apps that don't present the problem. One specific interesting case is the one of the HelloListView tutorial presented in Android Developers website.
I've followed the tutorial, and created this illustrative app that just creates a list and allows you to scroll up and down. This specific app doesn't present the problem we've been discussing. I've made it available for download as apk file in the end of that same testing page (fgfaria.com)
That application being so simple and not presenting the problem, and the other apps that also don't present it, makes me think that the problem may appear when some specific library gets included in an app. Possibly something related to hardware acceleration, for example (just guessing, no specific reasons to believe that).
If only we could isolate the cause of the problem, we could notify Google and/or Samsung and influence a new patch release.
This is as far as I have gone so far. Ideas, reactions?
Regards,
Fabio

Hi Chris, I believe the denied access is because the GT is not rooted. The app must need access to pretty low level adjustments, and only rooting the device would make that possible.
I have the same messages in my GT, but rooting is kind of my last option to solve this.
My current options are:
1) Wait for an official Gingerbread update
2) If that doesn't solve, I'll contact my factory warranty
3) If they deny this is a problem, or if they can't fix it, I'll try rooting and using this app
While the first option is not available, I'll continue my search for another fix.
Cheers,
Fabio

Another possible explanation for the problem not happening in the app from the tutorial is that libraries being used include some kind of filter not used in problematic apps...
mine shakes but not noticable,.. i didn't notice this on froyo
Hi,
Thank you all for responses. I have been searching too but did not find anything.
However I have a theory.
The screen shaking phenomenon does not happen (or unnoticably little) when you are on a dark screen. Web browser included.
Is this your observation too?
Cheers
mine do shake even if its dark, originally i found this "bug" couple of days ago, when im in bed late at night, i initially thought that the shaking was via my finger, and was surprised to see this post a while ago
Note: My tab is rooted because I'm currently running the Overcome 2.0 RC1 rom.
*major headache *
Fully agree! Mine shakes only in light background! Same problem, but in this case, it looks more like a hardware issue than software (intuitively, at least, hardware is more likely to be affected by screen luminosity than software). The solution though, could be a software filter of fast screen movements...
Anyone? There is a solution for Galaxy S (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844216&page=3#). There must be a solution for Galaxy Tab 7 too...
Hi everyone,
Is the same problem happening in the new 2.3.3 asia roms?
Do you have any experience?
Cheers.

Where can the new room be found? I'd like to give it a try, is the Overcome golden 2.3.3 Asia room?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I was referring to official asia roms.
They are available in samfirmware.com but I have not tried myself.

Anyone found a solution yet?
I have flashed KL7 and found that really smooth then before at Stock Browser when scrolling. However, for scrolling, it's now become not fix for horizontal and vertical at same level(just like Opera). Is there any way to fix the same level when do horizontal or vertical scrolling just like the verison before? Thx
I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but I do notice too that with KL7 everything is silky smooth, but the browser now almost feels TOO smooth in that now quickly flick-scrolling causes the pages to scroll in a zig-zag fashion now where previously the pages would smoothly scroll downwards. If there was any way to get back previous scrolling behaviour of the browsers pre-KL7 I'd much prefer that too!!
yeah, that zig-zag movement when scrolling is not the best we can get. Anyone having a solution for this?

Download Opera Mobile. It also uses hardware acceleration.

yes, I also mean this issue. I like to use with "Auto-fit pages" function at the stock browser so we just need to scroll up and down vertically, no need to adjust horiziontally. I need the zig-zag movement only when I long press the screen to scroll is OK.
I am afriad Samsung cancel this scrolling behaviour is due to "Apple Patent" as I remember this is also a "Apple Patent" too. Hope it is not true.
Unfortunately, I also find that "stock browser suddenly lag" issue still exist at KL7. Need to kill the browser process and re-open to fix the lag issue. It seems the stock browser always suddenly lose hardware acceleration and caused the lag. The only way I found yet to fix the issue is to restart the browser. Is there any way to fix this issue too? thx.
I've simply extracted the browser from KL3 to my KL7, that solved the problem perfectly.

What problem did it solve?
Hi everyone!
I have a problem with Chrome Browser in my android, because it starts but say that I have not all I need to handle with its requierements.
I hace CM9 from 25 July 2012, and havenĀ“t done any change as it comes from cyanogenmod.
I have searched in this forum and in google, and people say that it works properly in CM9 in their sgs i9000. Also, I have seen that someone fixed it by changing the build.prop id. I've tried it, and the same problem occurs.
Has anyone any idea of what to do for making it works? I want to try this browser and get my own opinion about it, as I've heard that somo people say it is the best, and others not.
If anyone has fixed it already or have it working in their phone, please tell me what is their configuration to try it by my own.
Thanks in advance.
Google Chrome for Android takes a lot of space. On our phones with CM9 or other ICS Roms we have a issue with the partition size of where the apps are stored. If you have a lot of apps it could be that you don't have enough space in the datadata partition. You can try unistalling some apps or clearing the cache/data from some of you apps and see if this helps. You could also try one of the data partition fixes if you haven't already.
Having said that this could be unrelated to your issue but is possible. Usually if you have this apps start force closing or you get a message about partition being full.
It doesn't work
Thanks for the information, but unfortunately I have tried al you tell me and nothing happens. The same problem.
Maybe it is imposible to make chrome browser works in my sgs i9000 with cm9. What a pity! Anyone has other things to try?
The problem
Hi, I've been experiencing significant interface stuttering whenever an application has been granted accessibility permissions.
Video of the problem
Here is a video demonstrating the issue, read below for technical information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFVKCx5zVmQ
Facts about the problem
Ok so here's what I know so far:
It doesn't matter which service you grant access to, it will lag the same. I've tried LMT, Swipe Navigation, LastPass, TalkBack, and a few more I can't even remember at the moment.
It doesn't matter what ROM or Kernel you are on. I've tried Euphoria with LK and Hydra, rooted stock with stock kernel and LK, and Benzo with whatever the default Benzo kernel is. Doesn't make a single difference.
It does not only affect Relay for Reddit comment collapsing. It also affect Google Newsstand's mini/big card transition, news source transitions, Google Now transitions, basically anywhere there is an animation in the OS I can notice the stuttering.
Anyone else experience this? Any ideas? It is driving me crazy.
I'm not experiencing that
I've used custom roms/kernels almost all of them in the development forum lol
I wonder if maybe it's a particular accessibility itself? I feel like since its needing to be authorized in accessibility that it might be conflicting with something else, who knows?
People usually try booting the phone into safe mode and seeing if maybes its a third party app?
Thats my 2 cents! Hopefully it helps
It has nothing to do with a specific accesibility from what I can feel, stuttering occurs regardless of the app.
I have full wiped several times to test and can't find a solution.
Does anyone else experience this or have any ideas?
Can anybody duplicate this?
Should I RMA?

I've done this when using LK/Hydra, but I am not running stock kernel. None of the adjustments made any noticeable difference unfortunately
I really hate to bump this but the video only has 16 views and I'd love someone else to confirm or deny the same behavior when granting an app accessibility permissions.
If this is common behavior I won't RMA, but if no one else can recreate this I'm going to.
Oh, another thing I noticed: you don't have to test it in an app like Relay for Reddit, you can also do it in the Chrome browser on a site that has a lot of information. What I've noticed is that, when accessibility is granted to any app, visiting XDA forums becomes almost unusable. It takes FOREVER to scroll and when I can scroll it is extremely choppy. Disable the accessibility permission? Completely solves the problem.
You are NOT crazy. I have been searching, seeing if anyone else had this problem. I am using a completely stock Nexus 6 (not rooted), and because of the screen size I have been tinkering with apps to help with one handed use (like pie controls, handy soft keys, etc). They also require accessibility to be enabled. Whenever I install them, I notice (about once every 6-7 times) that when I open my app drawer on Nova launcher, it will half freeze, half stutter. Most of the time it's fine, but once every few times it happens. I haven't paid too much higher attention to whether jt causes stuttering in other apps, but it drives me nuts and so I uninstall the app and go back to stretching my thumb to use the stock nav keys. Wish this would get fixed. Kind of unacceptable for a Nexus - that kind of stuttering is why I don't like using Samsung devices.
Here is the Swipe Navigation developer saying it is definitely a thing in Lollipop with accessibility settings. (screenshot from Play Store comments on Swipe Navigation app). I wish someone could figure this out - I guess we have to wait for Google to do that?
I am using PieControl Pro and I do believe it makes the animations in the Play story stutter when I open a page and use the back button to go back to the app overview. The Play store was never completely smooth no matter what, but when I disable accessibility for PieControl Pro, it becomes a little better. So yeah, accessibility does seem to affect UI performance. I'm on stock Android 5.1 with Franco Kernel.

Thank you! I was losing my mind tryingbto figure this out so I opened a support ticket with Google play store and the person who handled my case was able to reproduce it and has made a note of it (whether this means there's an official bug report or not I don't know). He also said this issue cannot be used to RMA, since it wouldn't do anything anyway.
Unless someone can confirm that they DO NOT have this issue.
Im using swipe navigation and I'm noticing stutter as well. Wonder why this happens. Took me a while to figure it out.
Would you mind pointing me to the Google page where you reported this? I would like to star it as well, and follow their updates.
As a follow up, today I decided to tinker around and install pie again. Since the Nova app drawer animation is what I always notice stuttering first, I decided to just turn Nova animations off. Then, I went into Android settings, developer options, and reduced the three animation settings to 0.5x. I may just be seeing what I want to see, but the UI hasn't seemed to stutter with Pie enabled in accessibility (yet). Going to try this for a day or two.
I've gotten the same issues with Lastpass.
Lastpass even states on their site that it's a lollipop issue.

Sorry if this counts as bringing up an old thread, although it's not THAT old
Anyway, I've come here just to corroborate all your findings and confirm that I am also experiencing this ugly bug. A few days ago I installed Greenify which, among other things, asked to enable Accessibility features for it. Thinking nothing of it I did as requested. Next day I start noticing some UI lagginess and choppiness, which was especially noticeable to me in Relay for Reddit since I use it a lot (too much for my own good in fact) and I distinctly remember it had very smooth scrolling between comments just a few days ago. In the mean time, I completely forget I've granted Greenify accessibility control so I went on a mission trying to fix this inexplainable, sudden UI choppiness, by trying to flash a different kernel, trying different governors, dirty flashing my ROM, trying all the other tweaks, and finally doing a factory reset and flashing the stock ROM all over again (luckly I did make a nandroid). Nothing helped. I was at my wits end when I tried searching the app's subreddit for anyone experiencing the same issue and found a comments saying accessibility features were to blame. I felt stupid for not researching it before. However, this bug is very insidious as it just creeps up on you, with no reason. I also don't know how can accessibility features affect UI smoothness this way.
Yes, hopefully will be fixed in M maybe? I haven't checked around to see if those who have installed M preview have checked to see if the bug has been fixed there. Fingers crossed.....
Not fixed in M. Everyone should go star the issue so it gets fixed!

Still isnt fixed ) But my lag rather appears when tapping on any app icon, then it highlights, then go lag, then opening animation starts.
Post this over on reddit and see if you can bring a bit more attention to the issue.
