Want 2 become android dev.

Hey.. I'm new 2 android... I bought my first android about 4 months ago... Now I'm totally in love with it... So I want 2 become an android developer.. But I don't know where 2 start from & what knowledge should I have? Do I need 2 learn java before starting? So please can anyone help me with this? Thank you...

Chef's are people who use the kitchen, hence the name 'chef' and yes they use the Rom Kitchen posted by dsixda in the Chef forum. Make sure to read up before getting into deving, I started trying to start around january and still working on getting my first complete ROM up and running lol

if you already are experienced in programming, coding a own app is pretty easy. Just watch a short video on youtube, read a tutorial and than start programming(learning by doing)
If you are not, well then it is more difficult :-D

Logos and banners etc.. Not a whole website lol
If you want to see a small work of mine search for ^mira" app in Android market and look at the banner and design of the app.. I did this things (graphics not app itself).,
Sadly I am off for 3 weeks to Florida trainingcamp so you would have to wait..

XDA Has always been a fantastic community for developers, and non developers alike. Recently, as many of you may have noticed, the gap between our esteemed developers, and our massive user base has been widening. Many of our tutorials focus on the basic aspects of theming and modifying the software on our devices. It seems, however, that there are not so many tutorials on the actual basics of programming. You should use notepad++ or emacs. Microsoft notepad is a pretty terrible tool.

First off, I was careful in my wording. Html is used for making websites - not websites are made with html
Secondly, Python (if used for web development) is a server-side language, so you'd still need html to get a working site
Question still makes no sense though! :silly:

I can't speak for everyone, but if you are into it and actually want to learn it, it is more fun than "How hard is it?"
I am not studying web developing, but I did my research for a long time(>2 years).
There will be times you wish you never took it, especially when learning some CSS(GODDAMN APOSTROPHE KEY Y U NO BECOME AUTOMATIC SOMETIMES) but all in all, it is very worth it. You don't have to get a job to earn some small $$$, because you can tell people, advertise online, etc.

Hi, I like to keep this secret(My tools) but if you try hard you can easily tell what I used. I'll give you some hints, I use a combo of Adobe: PS, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and sometimes I get scripts and position them accordingly. I will be honest here, NONE of my sites are completely based off notepad, and upon consulting more of my web dev colleagues, I have learned that using notepad/notepad++ is too time consuming and actually decreases productivity.
However, at the end of the day, if the client is happy regardless of what I used to make it, I am also happy.
