I after my simcard broke on me i resorted to pauls nv flash to stock rom to get the new simcard at the shop.
in the shop the card gave the 3g notice and i thought all was well.
went home and tried to root but failed with superoneclick and then tried trymhansens one that worked and i installed CM9 again.
i found out today because off using wifi at home that my sim shows that im using 3g or H but that im not getting any traffic i am able to make and recieve calls and sms.
so i nvflashed again and went back to the shop to ask if it was a provider side problem.
they told me its software related.
so here's my question what should i do now
nvflash the paul 10b or flash the latest dutch released rom that i downloaded from here.
or is there an other way that i can get it back to stock without the change of breaking it further.
i dont have the cash at the moment to get it fixed or by a new phone, so i am willing to use it as is now and just have internet at hotspots or at home but would like to fix it .
also flashing requires that i close down all other programs on my pc to avoid corruption ?
thanks in advance

Hi there, i have a really annoying and strange problem with my Galaxy s.
the phone can not establish connection with my simcard, wich means i cant call, text, or receive and calls or text messages. the simcard works good in my old htc hero and my xperia x10, and other simcards work fine in my galaxy too..
the phone seems to discover the card because it asks me for the pin code and it shows it has connection in the status bar.. but it never shows the gprs/3g/h icon anymore.. though i can connect to the internet with my phone.. and sometimes in the status bar it shows a little r (wich means roamin i guess) but i have roaming switched off in the settings.. wtf is happening ?
when i was on darkys 8.0 and 8.1 i had no problems, but when i upgraded to 9.0 the hell came loose :/ right now i am on the stock xwjs3 samsung firmware with no root or any other customizations.. everything is stock. what do you think is the problem? i had a thread started in a swedish android forum, and nobody could help me, so you guys are my last hope.. what the hell is wrong here ?
edit: i forgot telling that i can browse the web with my phone with no problems, but it doesnt show me any 3g/h/gprs icons when data active..
Try to go tommorow to your TELE2 provider store in Sweden, and ask for a new SIM card.
If that doesn't help, go back to darky's v8.0.
For example,
i'm also on TELE2 in Croatia, i have done the upgrade on darky's v9.0 no-wipe with lagfix turned on.
All of my APN settings stayed same, i can connect to the internet, really no issues.
Can u try the no-wipe version?
i have already aksed for a new sim card, but i dont think that would help.. because my sim card does work.. with every other phone i tryed, but not with my own
when i flashed darkys i did everything exactly like it said in description, 8.0 wipe > 8.1 nowipe > 9.0 nowipe
my apn settings are also left there in the settings, and when i check the info about the phone it says connected to sweden 3g (wich is tele2 3g in sweden) and it discovers pretty good signal, the problem is that i cant sms or call, or receive any of those either.. it says connected but not active.
Well it looks like, nothing is wrong with your SGS...in the hardware meaning.
Your 3G/H icons will only be displayed when you have internet traffic active.
And check your SMS settings and call barring options.
If that doesn't work, you can go back to v8.1
but the phone doesnt show the 3g/gprs/h icon even when i have data traffic active..
that is the only think working btw.. i can surf the web with my phone but it doesnt show the connection icons.. and the call barring options are all ok.
Well...you can always go back to v8.0
have tryed.. no luck
LOL...then put back in the stock firmware, then go to your providers store, and ask for new SGS
right now i am on stock firmware actually.. and if i cant find any other solution i will probably use the warranty..
good luck )

Hur mår du kompis
cmon guys, i know someone out there can help me..
Nothing new you put on Darkys rom and its buggered up your phone join the big crowd .
Have you tried asking Darky .
Your only solution is a complete wipe of internal sd card system and data .
Install a stock Eclair and see if it works .
Otherwise darky bricks are priced at 150 dollars .

Ok i will try this, but why eclair? any reason for that ?
Thats what the phone was built with so less complications when something is wrong i find .Upgrade after if phone works OK or even take the chance to official upgrade via Kies Registry Patcher and save your official rom .

hi,
i upgraded my phone to 4.2 jelly bean slim rom . calling and other things were fine . but from tommorrow i am facing this problem.
in settings=>about phone=>status it's showing my network name and signal strength-64dBm 25 asu . my network is not 3g or 4g .
but my signals are white ( no signals but sim present and detectable) cant call . whenever i try it says "mobile network not available".
after this i checked my sim in other phone . it is working fine.
i put sim from some other network in my sgs but same problem
i flashed the same rom to fix it but no good
i flashed back my ics rom , no good
i did factory reset , but problem is still
i am using this phone for past 2 years and this problem never occoured.
PLEASE HELP ME .
there is some problem with the 4.2 rom or whatever, but you easily fix the calling part by installing another modem.
in my case I can't get the sms to get working, tried 3 modems already.. everything else is super fine.
I had a similar problem where I had no reception! Easy fix though
1. Find online your specific carrier ROM for the phone, (eg. AT&T SGS1 ROM) and flash it, firmware can be what ever (gingerbread, eclair, ICS)
2. Flash your carrier ROM, you may not pass boot screen but that's alright because the carrier ROM still embeds all carrier info.
3 Now re flash your jb ROM and enjoy
Hopefully this helped you out

See how your IMEI is now something like 00499....? The phone's generated a fake IMEI (which allows you to use the telephony functions such as data, SMS etc) because its lost the real one.
1.) Go back to a stock 2.3.6 rom using Odin. Your IMEI should be back to what it was, but check it just to make sure. However if you're able to send texts/make calls/use data again, your IMEI's been restored.
2.) Root it again.
3.) Flash in CM9 first (do the standard wipe data/cache/Dalvik). Let CM9 boot. To upgrade to Jelly Bean from Gingerbread, you need to flash in ICS (CM9) first to preserve the IMEI. Once CM9 has booted (you don't need to stay on it for too long), if you see that you're getting signal, you're all goods. But check your IMEI just in case you want to be sure it worked.
4.) Back into recovery. Wipe combo (data/cache/Dalvik) again just in case. Install Slim Bean from there.
5.) Once it boots, you should be getting signal as usual. Once again though, if you really want to make sure, check your IMEI.

I don't know if any one of you have encountered this before but here's what happened
I installed a new rom and my network lock came back
so I installed galaxys_unlock + busy box to unlock my phone again.
the phone gets unlocked and signal does seemingly work.
now here's the problem.
my sim card + plan can go on internet. but for some reason when I try to go on the internet it doesn't work.
I clicked on mobile network on my phone and what shows up was this message of "insert SIM card to access network service"
which really confuses me because I can actually make phone calls.
If anyone has any solutions please let me know. I'll be more than happy to try it.
Is it even normal for my n7000 to lag so much and have so many problems? I feel like I spend more time trying to fix it than actually enjoying it.
1 Try restock to see if problem from rom side or hardware
2 Reinstall new rom, make sure file downloaded match md5 (might be corrupt dl) and follow instructions
3 Update latest proven stable kernel for that rom
4 If else fail try diff rom or restock
Good luck

What does restocking mean???
Restock = basically back to original official stock firmware of the rom (non moded ics/jb based).
Also good idea to state your rom that you use, carrier etc, hopefully other user of that same rom can guide you?
I think you need to put the settings for internet access back in

Hi, Ive got xperia from vodafone australia.
When I first started my phone I upgraded it to 253 straight away. Everything was working fine, but needed root.
First I tried to open the bootloader following instructions from sony but something went wrong(bootloop) so I used the SUS for the recovery. Worked fine, and when the phone was starting for the first time it went through some network configuration.
Then I downgraded it to 434 with unbranded australian rom. Upgraded to 10.3.A.0.423, unlocked bootloader, rooted, everything was looking fine. But today in the morning I tried to use my phone and it says "network unavailable" when i try calling or that "the message couldnt be sent" when trying to text. I locked bootloader, flashed with sus, then flashed the same unbranded rom and still the same!
Emergency calls are working. Reception is full but it doesnt display "H"(wifi is off).
Is there any way to run the network configuration like it was after restoring though SUS? After flashing another roms there wasnt this kind of thing..
Anyone could help?
I flashed another rom, 10.3.A.0.432 from spain and my data connection started working(yes, im sure that wifi is off). But still I cant make a voice calll. During the basic configuration it asked me about my network and if I want to download internet settings. Is that possible that I need specific settings for Vodafone?
When I tried calling my number from another phone it just says "call ended" instead of connecting to the voicemail.
Anyone?
Try another SIM card.

I'tried another vodafone card, was the same. Tomorrow I will try to get card from another network but it's a bit doggy, that I got data connection but no voice calls/texts. Remember that long time ago on wm I similar problem but there I was helpful the reinstall radio and run connection settings. Is there anything like radio drivers for xperia?
on android the radio is the baseband, have you called your provider to see if there are any issues with them or your account?
What do you have in APN in your phone?
Check it in Settings => Wireless & Network => More...=> Mobile Networks => Access Point Names
If you have no APN don't search further, this is your problem, you need to fill the APN with your operator informations.
I've had exactly the same problem after réinstalling the phone with PC compagnion.
Hello, I have this SGH-T879, It had the stock 4.0.4 firmware, but I flashed the SGH-T989_UVLE1_radio to unlock it via service menu, but now I don't have signal, right now i'm running CM10.1 and tried to flash multiple modems but still don't get GSM signal, i have Tmo_SGH-T879-UVLG3_radio installed right now but still it's not working, it says NO SERVICE. - TELCEL (my carrier), even it shows me the Voicemail icon, but what I need to do? I'm searching everywhere the stock odin file for going back completely to stock, but all the links are expired, help me please. And I don't know if KIES is usefull but I don't know if its possible to use it in this case.
