[Q] Stock ZV8 Lock Screen for BrokenOut? - LG Revolution

I recently upgraded to ZV8, then flashed mt's BrokenOut 1.1. The ROM itself works great, but I would like to get the stock lock screen back. Is there a way to extract from my stock Nandroid backup without negating any BrokenOut tweaks?
This was already asked on the BrokenOut thread, but kinda got lost in the sauce, and I'm still under the 10 post minimum...

I would like it too. I am not a fan of the default BO 1.1 lock screen . I did try and experiment to get it to work from the gingerhome add on but my phone would only boot to a black screen and had to do a restore.

That's about where I'm at. I'm sure you can do that with the stock zv8 framework package, but I'm not sure if you only use part of that, or if you can just flash the whole thing...

I think if you want that you will also need the whats app from LG but I could be wrong.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that it is part of the lg_home launcher. MT removed it and put adw in its place. Idk if you can use MT's stock app tool to reinstall it in BOR.
--My REVO is Broken, tweaked, SC'd, and TB'd. Just awesome!

You could try restoring them if you made app backups but it doesn't always work with system apps

I put the LG Home from the Esteem on my phone with broken out. I took it out of GingerHome. I like the Esteem version better then the Revolution version so I have that working. I Know you can put the stock LG home launcher on from MT's stock app tool as I tried that before going to the Esteem version.
Anyways, does anyone know if the lock screen is just an app I can try installing and the name if it is? From my research I thought the lock screen was deeper into the OS then just an app.

I think the whatsnew app is what was tied into the lock screen. The whats new app gathered information from all your social media and email apps and displayed it out, and I think to the lock screen, but I think all that only works with the LG stock apps, look forward to your findings and could you post up where you got the esteem home app and whats required to make it work.
Thanks...

I got the esteem home app from gingerhome. Go to the dev forum and in the gingerhome thread download the file. Unzip the contents and look through the folders to find the apps. It is the LGHome.apk I think. You can just push it to /system/app with adb but you need to remount the the filesystem to write.
After that reboot and when you hit your home soft key it will ask which one you want and you can set that as default.
I have everything on my work laptop so I will try and get more detailed instructions later or tomorrow.
The WhatsNew.apk just locks up the stock weather app if you are using it so hold off until I or someone else can figure out how to put the stock lock screen back on.

The WhatsNew app only works with the stock lock screen. The LGHome app is just the home screen, which is easily replaced by any number of home apps, i.e. adw or nemus. I haven't had much time to mess with it lately, and perhaps the option will come from mt after he updates BO to to ZV9...

I've got the stock lg lock screen back by adding the lg home and replacing the framework Res with the one from the stock ROM. It took
A few days for the system to settle but I had the stock lock screen.

O2x is Not satisfying

Hey all. I got the o2x for two weeks now. After the first week i decided to root it because lg stock ROM is ****. I am still Not satisfied! It is slow and laggy imo. Im currently using gilgamesh 1.2 ROM. I really think about getting another phone. I had a desire and to be honest this phone is Not really faster. I Eintrag care about playing games.
Sorry for my bad english.

well, then u should sell it now, get a good prize and wait for htc sens. or samsung sII
I had the amoled desire and this O2X is faster by miles. I think you didn't organize your apps properly.
The LG Stock ROM is **** I agree. I replaced the homescreen with LauncherPro and froze unwanted bloatware on the first week. The whole phone system is now much faster and light without custom ROM. Love it!
Not laggy
LOL dont know what your doing to your phone but 2x is one of the fastest phones on the market and may well be the fastest. You think this phone has problems i had 4 Sony Arc they are a nightmare soo many issues and problem with screen coming away from it housing, the LG 2x is well built and fast as hell cannot waiit for it to get Gingerbread and then Honeycomb will make this phone rock and roll even more
kan someone explain how to remove the bloatware from the LG ?
im still stuck @ factory rom, but i dont feel like flashing a new one
Root, install Titanium Backup and use it to remove the things you don't want.

1) get root
2) freeze/uninstall apps using Titianium Backup / use Root Explorer or sth like that if you know which apk's you don't need and simply remove them (remember to remount /system in read-write mode)
This phone has a rubbish stock UI but great potential, it makes it more a phone for geeks rather than the masses. I've rooted and loaded CWM along with applying the dexopt fix but am yet to go the whole hog, I'd rather see what tweaking stock does before i take the whole leap of custom roms.
By the way does anyone know where the facebook/twitter/myspace apps are so i can get rid of them? I've tried Root Explorer and Titanium but i can't see them...they are just unnecessary bloatware for me.
The apk of Twitter&Facebook by LG is called SNS.apk or very similar.

Well. I learned a hard lesson yesterday. I could root the phone and uninstalled bloatwares as I wanted and everything worked fine... Until I decided to do a factory reset. The first-run setupwizard cannot find a certain app and crashes at beginning (I think it was LG Home, not sure though) left me with endless bootscreen. After hours of headache finding solution to fix it I got the phone to revert to factory settings with nvflash. Now I don't remove system app anymore but to disable them. Easiest by "freeze" them with titanium.

Orange UK Atrix working hacks

Got my Atrix on Friday and thought I would share the working hacks!
Root
Download Gingerbreak 1.2 APK via XDA app via your phone and run it. Root done!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044765
Webtop over HDMI
Download zip in post below... rename old files (odex and apks in system/app) to .bak and copy new files there using root explorer. Phone will loop on force close when you rename portal.apk but just take battery out and power it back on.

So you confirm there is no way to get gingerbread on Orange Atrix for now?
I would add that CWM and gingerblur / greyblur are working for me using this:

Guys a little help needed please.
I have a Orange UK Atix and was on the stock rom and installed Gingerblur through Tenfars CW Mod, the problem being when it had installed and I rebooted from CWM my phone is stuck in a boot loop ( the phone wont go past the moto boot logo and has the LED notification light flashing red ).
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
All help is greatly appreciated.

Gingerblur is for the Atrix 4g isn't it? Is that not slightly different hardware? Ie you've probably bricked your phone. Although guy above said he flashed it so best pm him or try a reflash and wipe.
Personally I don't see the point in risking a flash for the same os with a gingerbread theme. Theres not going to be any advantage. I only put the other hacks as they are relatively risk free and you can unroot or remove the patched webtop etc if you have any issues.

yep this should fix it, but using gingerblur over orange rom is a bad idea, different framework files etc. it should work but i wouldnt recommend it, google UOT kitchen and you can make your own gingerbread theme for the orange rom as long as your rooted
How do I go to the stock android recovery?
hold vol down while turning on, then keep pressing it until it says android recovery then press vol up, then when it shows an android logo you have to tap the bottom right corner of screen a few times to get options to show up
Works great on t-mobile stock.

[Q] LG/VZW Update (8/4/11) for Revo

Ok, I downloaded the VZW/LG update on 8/4/11, but once downloaded it reboots into recovery.. I have Clockworkmod Recovery installed. I don't know where the downloaded file is to install it. I assume if I had stock recovery that it would have automatically installed. Can anyone help?
After reboot from CWM, the update screen comes up and says Update Failed or Incomplete.
Also just a note, the update isn't Gingerbread, it is bug fixes and a couple system app updates.

Anyone wondering about the OTA please read this!
If you have CWM installed, you won't be able to take the OTA.
For now, I'd suggest staying away from it until I get a chance to look it over first.
Also, if you're running my decrapified ROM, installing the OTA would bootloop your device since decrapified is deodexed and the OTA would be odexed.
In the next day or so (whenever I get access to the OTA zip file), I'll disassemble it and see what changes it contains (like if it has a new recovery, or new kernel, or changes the board configuration) I'll post back here to let y'all know.
UPDATE
It appears that the update is safe to install for those running the revo stock (not decrapified) ROM.
It makes changes to quite a lot-- new boot.img, new LTE RIL, new CDMA RIL, new LTE baseband ROM, changes to the recovery system to bring it in line with normal Android (still not very 'normal', but normal as in "now contains an installrecovery.sh that android can use"), and a bunch of new ODEX files.
Let me stress this and make it perfectly clear: this update will NOT work if you're running decrapified ROM.
In the next day or so, I'll make an updated decrapified ROM (see? I was waiting for a good reason to make an update ) that will include the OTA in it.
Until then, relax and keep hitting that "ignore" button

There are several things that I do not like about the Decrapified ROM
1. The 3 buttons on the bottom (Phone / App Drawer / Browser) sometimes vanish. Only way to fix it is to reboot
2. When you dock the phone into the car mount, the Navigation doesn't do anything. It would be nice to launch your own GPS app or the Google Navigation app. There are other activities that do nothing.
Everything is is great. Love the Google Integration and Love the missing Verizon Crapware on it (VZ Navigator, VZ Music, etc)
If ur using adw go into adw theme settings and reapply your them and the bottom buttons will deappear

Just flash it via revotoolkit...
The baseband image doesn't appear to change much at all, it's only a minor change it appears...
Mine wouldn't take any deferral time greater than 24 hours....and out of the blue it started about 10 hours after I deferred for 24....
Mine rebooted to Clockwork, I selected reboot, it came back up, displayed a page noting the failure, and everything appears to be working fine -- 30 minutes and counting. We'll see if it tries again...

Yeah, I PM'd you on that.. revo tool kit not working, download file only 36k, even attempted to download the .tar (via Windows7) described in the output in the program and the countdown just keeps looping. There may be something wrong with the files or the file host...
disregard.. just attempted download in Dolphin Browser on my phone and it is downloading the 6.73mb file recovery-stock.tar from 199.167.134.110/private/iomonster/files/revo-cwm/recovery-stock.tar.gz
So i should be able to follow same instructions I used to manually install cwm to install this, correct? Or I could just wait for the new decrap ROM, but I am very impatient.. lol
I am giving up!!!!!
ok.. getting really mad now. I successfully and manually flashed the stock recovery image and verified that with revo toolkit. So applied the update and it boots into stock recovery but not even half way through the arrow becomes an " ! " and reboots and says update failed or incomplete. So now I will put back CWM and wait for the next version of decrap.

I'm running Decrap1.1 and couldn't stop the attempted upgrade, since mine wouldn't respond to any attempts to defer. So, I went poking around under the hood. Just on a hunch, I used Titatium Backup to freeze a program called Verizon Package Installer, thinking that might interupt any attempt to actually update. The update loader ran and failed, gave me a warning, and I haven't seen it again since. I also am having ZERO problems with the phone. It's like it went away and isn't coming back.
Do you think my package loader freeze might do that?

Stock V9 Calendar app

Hey Guys. I.M.famous here again.
For those of you who do not like the baked in cm7 calendar in Broken Out 2.0, I have packaged a flashable zip to replace the calendar with the stock v9 verizon/LG Calendar app.
Of course as usual,
boot to recovery,
flash zip
reboot
Also, I'm not responsible for anything that may happen.....blah, blah, blah.
Note**** If you are having issues with the calendar FC'ing, try clearing the apps cache first. [Settings, manage applications, all apps]. then if that doesn't work, try flashing this file.
Hope everything works. Enjoy.
Any issues, Holla!!!!!
Thanks. I hated the calendar that was in the From.

The cache is listed as empty and I cleared the app data after flashing it just in case. Any idea of how to get this to work? Thanks for putting together a clean way to replace all the files needed for the Calendar.

The widget works, as in appears. Though it is unable to pull any calendar information as is my other calendar widget. If nothing obvious comes to light, at this point I'd be willing to just reflash BO in case I broke something and then do your tidy little fix on top.
if you can, I suggest trying to rip BO's calendar and push it to your phone just to see if it's the apk or maybe a system issue. if it works, then it would seem to be an apk issue. If it doesn't work then I would reflash bo and re setup any tweaks then flash this zip. IDK. Imma keep tinkering and see what I can find. Might be a little later today, the JOB is calling my name.

After doing that the Calendar is still complaining. So I'll just reflash BO 2.0 and do it all in one fell swoop.
Edit: Update: So I did all that and still no go. It's complaining that sync is not currently working (for all my gmail accounts) and will be back shortly. I'm tempted to just do a .tot restore and go from absolute scratch when I get home, but that's really a pain.
Another Update: Something is out of whack on my phone, and I'm most likely to blame. Even reflashing BO 1.1 won't restore calendar functionality. .tot restore and go from scratch is in order I guess.

I'm not sure what Metamorph is, but you could always revert back to stock using RSD or the AtrixHD Utility found on the dev section. If you've already installed SafeStrap, you can download our only "ROM" option which is the BetaKang ROM. The ROM is smooth but has a few issues. Read that thread if you want more info and what's working and what isn't. Good luck!
