If you get an error let me know? I hope there are no errors.
All credit goes to evilisto for making such an easy guide to follow! Apparently he got inspiration from some other guy so thanks to him too! And much thanks to the random threads all over the web that taught me how to do this! Wow exclamation marks! I took apart the no title theme to get sense 4.0 switcher since I'm not building from source (yet), so thanks to that guy.
Do you have a ROM/mod/device that you want this to work for/with?
Do you have want a different background?
Feel free to ask! I can edit it for you. Give me a link to your rom and tell me any specifics (color etc)
Big news! I just figured out how to mod from source... so there might be a break while I transition to the right way to do things

Hi all, I gave evilisto's mod a shot for the ROM I was using (aokp b31) and it works pretty well. I am also working on getting it for stock 4.0.4 for ns4g. Priority two is getting this to work with the beautiful(!) amoled blue mod, which should be easy.
Do not flash over any mod that has edited framework-res.apk (such as amoled blue) or your phone will not work very well.
Two versions
AOKP b31 (tested)
AOSP+ Vanilla (untested, but please give it a try)
Instructions:
1. Place zip on sd card.
2. Not sure if necessary but to be safe wipe cache + dalvik.
3. Flash zip in recovery. (Tested in the latest CW touch)
If you get an error let me know? I hope there are no errors.

I will attempt to pleasure all of you equally but honestly NS4G AOKP gets first priority.

We have just released our theme in the android market for the Cyanogenmod theme chooser!
There is a donate version and a free version, they are both exactly the same with around 50 themed icons but we would really appreciate it if you could download the donate version for $1.99 and help support us. If you cannot afford to donate to us we still appreciate it if you give us a positive review in the android market!
Thank you for all of your support!

4/1/11 Team MagnaM0d exploding outta the gate with our first release... What are we releasing?!... We release themes created from the ground up. See we are not creating themes to leave on only one device, not even just one ROM. These themes we create are ready to be flashed on 10 devices and counting and are covering up
to 2 to 3 custom ROMs on each device. We plan to build a whole collection of themes that can be flashed on as many devices as we can keep up with. So if you want
to join us with our effort you can check us out at our website at MagnaM0d.com or read the article written about us for more information on us and our personal section
on AndroidDoes.net. The devices below are all ones that have our first theme available as of now with the list to grow as we add to our team of themers and developers.Devices: Droid X | Droid 2 | Droid Incredible | Evo 4G | Nexus One | Nexus "S" | Desire | Desire HD | T-Mobile G2 | My Touch 4G | Our first project we worked so hard on to get ready for release today is called "Forbidden" which is completely based off of a dark and bright shade of three colors Red, Grey, and Gold hightlights. This theme has several extras included like a themed Gingerbread Keyboard (with more keyboards to come), RubiX's MMS.apk, Theme boot animation, over 20 system apps redone, Facebook and Twitter themed widgets (coming soon), a few wallpapers thrown in with the launcher, and more that I won't list on here to keep this a little shorter. Here are a few screen shots below and I think a YouTube video is planned to show case a little more...

technically "stock" ROMs are incapable of being themed because they're odex'd... and deoxed "stock" isn't necessarily a stock ROM since modifications are done
1) Sorry to tell you guys but we probably won't be making any roms for stock or deodexed stock because if we were to do that for each phone we would never finish
2) We just finished all of our updates for RC4 and will post them a bit later today.
Thanks,

That is a nice theme. Good work.

[Theme] Tw4 for jt's Vanilla Gingerbread 8-04 build!!! (i'm back!) *8.7.11* *WIP*

So... I've been gone for a while but today i decided i need to stop being lazy and pump out a theme. So here i am with a good start at tw4 for jt's amazing new vanilla gingerbread. Took alot of work but ive got the framework-res.apk and Systemui.apk completely done. Ill start on some of the apps tomorrow, and i have a feeling ill have to be creative in getting the aosp apps to look like touchwiz, but it will be fun.
NOTE: I'm not gonna do any themes for cm7 until theres a stable finished project... (i will not theme a rom that changes every night kthx.)
I don't have any screenshots for you but i think you guys know what to expect from my theme for comm rom... basically the same theme but a little more similar to the ec09 leak.
HUGE PROPS TO dreamsforgotten and notta for the quickpanel mod for vanilla gingerbread!!!!!!!!!!! I also made very heavy tweaks to the mod to include text and fix problems in the smali code displaying incorrect icons and unaligned text.

Before I flashed that rom, I flashed CM9 a19 just to see, and I had the same problem initially. I did get it going on that one. Then I flashed the rom you're running and fell asleep. Now I have to try to remember how I got it working on CM9.
Opps, yes I did try that.

evilisto said:
no.... and sorry AOKP rom users... I don't have much time to compile this mod for each roms, so I compiled stock AOSP version only and made cm9 and pete version using that. this is not much difficult because all these roms have same "recent apps" source code... but AOKP rom's source code is little different because of its horizontal(WebOS style) app switcher option. so to make AOKP version, i think compiled from source code is better than editing smali. (mainly because i don't know much about smali editing ...)
but i think... if many users requested this, they can easily include this mod in their rom as another app switcher option..
anyway, i'll post source diff soon so you can easily compile aokp version yourself.

Androidian themes for cm9 theme chooser

If anyone wants to make themes for the new cm9 theme chooser, here it is the androidian one. Just replace any icons you want inside the theme.

thanks to fitsnugly .
What does this mean exactly? I have 11 themes that i wouldn't mind sharing with everyone running anything ICS but I'm only one person... Would this somehow do this?

If you had made a theme for the CM7 then you must know that the them chooser cannot them many of the aspects fo the rom, like the lockscreen for example. Your themes cannot be implemented in full in the them chooser, but you an try it if you want.
Extract the apk with winrar or winzip, replace the icons you want with the ones from your themes, zip it, rename it to .apk instead of .zip. Put it the apk manager, and extract, zip and sign. Not that hard.
Good luck
Thanks... I figured it wouldn't theme every aspect of a ROM... But it's certainly a start... And I've only been theming since February or so and I've only themed ROMs never something like this...

I've been trying to squish your HCS theme icons into the holopurple cm9 theme all morning
I'm sure you could have it done DAYS before I finish with this one

lol... i haven't really been theming since i moved... i'd LOVE to have a base theme that can be applied to any device running this "theme chooser" feature... hopefully this thread will help with where to start on that! i'd actually prefer a stock template to work on... and just from a quick glance at the decompiled apk, it looks like there's A LOT of renaming i'm gonna have to do

It's also been merged into AOKP so I'm sure CNA and some of the others will follow suit.
