Been using Niks ROMs for ever now, but on the last few my wifi keeps either disconnecting or turning off, sometimes even when I'm using it and flips to data. Is this the ROM, the radio or my router? Is there a new radio out at the moment worth a try? I'm using 11.08.29 M. Anyone else having the same problem?

I've been using the newer 14_M radio since this morning. So far so good. No cutouts or disconnects as of yet.

I think there is another user who has posted in the general section with a similar problem.
you'll need to work around the power options as it may be set to switch off wifi/data after a certain duration of time or when screen off
I've also read that disabling fastboot may also help.

My problem is that I can turn on the wifi but it doesn't find any network.
I had the same problem with icecoldsandwich but it was fixed using wifix manger,I tried wifix manger in JB roms but it is not installing.
By the way I think it is regional issue
Any ideas how to fix it?
There is a setting where the wifi will disconnect on a weak signal. Be sure that is turned off and see if that helps.

I've tried it but didn't work, the phone doesn't find any network and I am sitting next to the router so I don't think it is signal problem
I know this is a silly answer, but have you made sure your back cover is on properly?
Even better, take it off, carefully clean the contacts then put it on making sure it seats properly.

I don't think it's hardware issue, because Wi-Fi is working on other roms.
Another thing when I remove the sim card the Wi-Fi works on the jb Roms.
try to use Phandroid android..wifi works well..

I've tried it and Wi-Fi only works when the sim card is removed.
Doesn't it work in the new JB ROM anyway?
It must be something to do with your sim/provider. I have been using WiFi since I installed this rom and the previous version. No problems at all.

Actually I have a problem with mine dropping WiFi all together. I know it is working because my husband's iPhone stays connected and it still works when mine has dropped. Lost 4 calls today because of that problem. Tried tinkering with the WiFi setting on the One between 2.5 ghz and 5 ghz and auto. Makes no difference. Connection lasts maybe 5 or 10 minutes then it disconnects. If you have a solution let me know.

Have you tried looking to see if your phone is actually saving the password? It is saved in the following location;
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
Open this file up using a file explorer with root capabilities. Is your network SSID and password in there?

It is saving it because all I do to get it back on
Is turn off WiFi and turn it back in again. Then it works for five minutes or so. And I looked at the link that was provided above and made sure I had WiFi on always power saver off etc. See what it does tonight.

Sorry, my response was directed towards the OP. Should have made that clearer.
Sometimes dropped connections with android phones comes from having your router set to 'auto' for channel selection. If yours is this setting, try changing it to a fixed channel. Use the app Wi-Fi Analyzer to find a clear channel.

Well I contacted HTC, and I did the steps ad posted above and so far no problem. Of course it will probably happen after I post this knock on wood. Didn't have to do what HTC said below since it works now but will definitely do it if the problem persists. I also uninstalled a battery widget because one of the posts said to try that also.
We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the Wi-Fi connection on your HTC One and can certainly provide some assistance to help resolve the issue.
To start, we will need to check a setting on the device. From the Home screen, access Settings>Wi-Fi>Menu>Advanced. Make sure the DLNA Auto-IP is disabled. Also, I know you have also changed it prior but set the Wi-Fi frequency band to 2.4 GHz. We will need test the combination to see if there is any difference.
If needed, we will need to make sure there is not an issue with the phone trying to get through your network’s security. For this, we will first need to remove the network from the phone. Access Settings>Wi-Fi then tap and hold on the name of the network to select Forget Network. Once done, reboot the phone and temporarily remove the security from the network. It should be open with no password and the SSID being broadcast. This is only temporary so we can test the phone to see if the same thing continues with an unsecured network. Once this is tested, you can add the security back to the network.
We would also recommend testing the phone with other public networks to see if you still having issues with the connection.
Feel free to reply should you have any further questions, Christina. If you feel more comfortable discussing issues by phone, you can contact Technical Support at 1-866-449-8358, 8 am to 1 am ET, 7 days a week.

Having the same issue with the wifi. Connection is erratic even if I am in the same room as the router/superhub. I went to the store today and they tested it there as well. They uninstalled some power saving apps and it seemed to work ok but at home same issues. Loosing connection when surfing and if I leave the room no connection at all.
Will have to get back to the store tomorrow to get it replaced.

Hey, are ya using an international ROM on an ATT One? I know with trick droid there was a recent issue where ya had to select "international" mode for things like WiFi to stick, WiFi tethering etc.
Ps. I remember ya from the GN2 Forums! My old username was cjsspape haha

Yea man...I remember you...haha. The One is bringing a lot of good people over from what I've been seeing.
As far as using an international ROM, yes I am....was using Trickdroid, but now I'm trying out AndroidRevolution 8.0...same issue. Next time I flash another Rom, I'll try the international setting instead of the ATT setting. Wouldn't I have to change the APN if I did that, or does that setting adjust something else?

Nah I didn't have to change anything. I get average 15-25 meg lte speed. A lot of guys were having the WiFi passwords reset on boot with the att package checked in aroma. From what I've seen the only difference with international & att is the signal icons. I had to switch because WiFi tether wasn't working under att.

I sometimes have the same wifi problem. I think I have to wait untill there is a software fix.
UPDATE: I bought a new router (<with wifi support 2G and 5G) and all my problems are solved.
Maybe someone can help me. Clean flashed to ARHD 10.1 a week ago and am having an issue with constantly dropping my data connections. My phone is pretty much constantly going from LTE to 4g to no data connection when not on WiFi. I'm on AT&T. Anything I can do? I'm not a pro at anything beyond basic Rom flashing. Thinking of just going back to stock. Thanks for any help!

I had this happen before. I turned off my HTC One, used the SIM tool, removed the SIM and reinserted the SIM and it fixed my data issues. Maybe that'll work. Hope that helps.
Edit: I did this to fix a data connectivity issue on my HTC One when I flashed an RUU.

I just flashed the newest version of ARHD (that's android revolution HD, for the person who asked) 10.2 and don't seem to be having the issue anymore. I'm not sure if it had something to do with only being able to select the international version during Aroma install on 10.1, or what was going on. Might have also been a combination of things. At any rate, i figured I'd post in here, as I'm trying to get my post count up, so I can post in forums actually dedicated to the Roms. Cheers, everyone! :good:

Haha I also came from iPhone to the HTC One. I'm seeing a lot of former iPhone guys on here. I always said that the day an android phone had the build quality of the iPhone, I was switching. And here I am!

I am willing to bet you are all using google voice. This is a typical symptom of google voice users. From my experience it has to do with voice settings, but it might not be the case. It depends on a combination of things.
Seems as though it is probably happening to all of us on 1.31 being the first update that has HD Voice which, I am guessing, is why we have that issue... Just have to get it working flawlessly now type thing since it is finally here

A lot of evo lte users had the same issue. It seems to be a semicommon HTC issues. Most likely due to HD voice and/or two mics. Something isn't kicking in properly. We've been able to fix the issue with a reset. But there have been rare cases that didn't solve the issue so had the phone replaced. But a reset usually fixed the issue. Also having lte on caused it for some. Switching it to just cdma fixed it for some. Luckily we aren't having data issues. A lot if evo lte owners can't even use the data and has serious call issues when lte/cdma is turned on. Hope this helps
Edit: I should add that you should try turning lte off first before attempting anything else lol. That is a more widespread issue right now

It seems that every so often, maybe once a minute sometimes, my phone will briefly drop 1X and 3G and then pick it back up. It's fairly quick but it's maddeningly annoying when I'm browsing. My phone has been doing this for a while I think, but it seems to occur more often after the 4.3 update and new radio. I have no idea if it's rom related, my phone, or sprints network. I'm using bad boyz. Anyone else experience this?

I had the same experiences when i was running BadBoyz. Thought it was just me, but after flashing Elegancia and now InsertCoin...my connection have been steady at eHRPD with some flashes of 4gLTE here and there depending on my location. But yeah, my connection has never dropped since switching rom.
