Hi!!
I need to send my phone back for a replacement. Anyone know how to unroot and go back to original stock v20a?? Can I just flash the firmware kdz file?? (assuming I'll just loose root).
Thanks,

I recommend that you install your local stock rom by smart flash

Here is something about root
www.ihelplounge.com/ihelplounge/201...aving-full-control-of-your-mobile-device.html
2.Flash to stock rom is to return your rom to the manafacturer's rom when you purchased the device. It can be done via odin.

1. Unrooted rom means that 3rd Party Apps cannot make changes to System.
2.Flashing to stock Rom means reverting to your phone's original rom.
3. If you think that your phone is more vulnerable (There is nothing like that) .
4.Only Stock ROMS revert to original after unrooting , on other roms ... its a waste
5.Unrooting is done only when your device is rooted..

1. unroot mean, your device is not rooted. and you do not have privilege to write system file/folder
2. It means like re-install your device, you can do it with ODIN Multi Downloader (this is from Galaxy W forum and we use tass.ops
3. when or why? ya we need it sometimes, because root mean you void warranty of you phone, sometime your phone maybe broke. so you need unroot before you bring it to service center
4. No, it just remove the SuperUser and you still have your ROM. and it will make the ROM work not like it should be. it's better to flash into stock firmware of you want unroot your device
5. hemmm... unroot mean the condition of your device. or you mean Unrooting the rooted device? ya you can, read this

Hi there,
I am trying to restore my phone back to stock firmware in order to return it for insurance. Currently, I was able to unroot the phone and it is on the NG3 stock firmware. I still have safestrap recovery installed and I want to use odin to return the phone to 100% stock like it was when I got it. The only stock firmware I could find was for the NCE build. Would it work to flash that with odin and then OTA to NG3? If not, would somebody be able to share the correct NG3 firmware that I could flash with odin?
Thanks so much for your help!
Yes NCE will revert it to the day you bought it.

If your phone isn't rooted and you've confirmed using root checker already just uninstall Safestrap apk.
Hi all, I just got back from basic training at Fort Jackson, I had rooted my phone before leaving and now I want to go back to stock, looking around I haven't seen anything and the one I did see was taken down due to hard bricking. So is there any way to go back to full stock Unrooted.

I would recommend using the LG flash tool and flashing the 10n kdz.

so I'll be safe to flash that even though I'm on this?

Yes, you can upgrade from the 10h to 10n, but you should not downgrade from 10n to 10h as there is a rollback flag that will prevent loading the stagefright vulnerable 10h and brick your phone.
i'm trying to rollback to marshmallow using the official package, i found this in the precautions before installation
"2. Make sure your phone system version has not been unlocked or rooted."
1. why is that. is it because their policy against root or is it actually going to cause problems during the rollback process?
2. if yes i should unroot: do i simply click unroot from kingroot app or are there more comprehensive way to unroot?
thanks

not sure how to do that because i used kingroot with a single click
Just install stock recovery then flash the roll back package.
After that, flash stock MM rom for your device.

what about the bootloader that jonezie is talking about?
i flashed rooted c432b836 with rolback package first small one then i got c900b300, after that i flashed c432b136, and successfully got back to marshmalow. so, realy dont know why i need unroot or flash stock recovery, if its working anyway

For me, the only way to relock bootloader is flashing stock firmware.
Last time, I tried relock bootloader by SRK Tool and it costed me 2 days to get my device back to normal, since it encountered serious error.

I always flash stock recovery before flashing stock rom, and I didn't try flashing stock rom over twrp. Next time I'll try ?
