BOCA query!!! - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is one hell of a fast rom
Awesome rom by diz. Thanks for making the galaxy tab so slick.
BTW I found one or two issues with my installed rom.I m on Boca rc2.09.
1.The hd flash video playback in the stock browser and dolphin browser hd is choppy and it says that the 'video is not optimized for mobile's.Upto 480p its fine but 720 and 1080 stutter. Why is that?
2.The brightness and 4g options in the settings menu crash evrytime its opened.
I believe it is not a common prob.

The brightness issue is reported, not the one for 4G.

GPU Hardware Accelerated Flash Player?

I have noticed that the flash player in the GB rom from Samsung is GPU hardware accelerated. Samsung probably had some discussions with Adobe to make it happen and I am glad they did When I was on Froyo, I had trouble playing 480p, but when upgrading to GB, I can play 1080p Youtube videos pretty smooth.
One thing I did notice is that the GPU HW acceleration is partially broken when you update the flash player (from 10.1 to 10.3) in the market. 1080p becomes impossible to play, but the other resolutions still work.
Now you may be thinking "if it's not broken, don't fix it" and thats the problem. Flash 10.1 has interface issues. For example, when I try to select the resolution I want to play my Youtube videos at, the menu appears for a split-second and then disappears.
Therefore, my question is that is it possible to hack this flash player, to give it to the interface fixes of 10.3, but still have the same performance?
P.S. The GB rom I am on is Serendipity VII. The flash player that comes with this rom is 10.1.
bumpity bump bump
How are you displaying 1080p on the captivate? Its screen maxes at 4780?[EDIT-that should be 480 ...]

Ics optimised apps

So now that we have ics the next thins is optimised apps taking advantage of hardware acceleration.. so far iv found
Flash player ... videos work really well on 720p ... page doesn't lag to much either and on YouTube test page it mentions hardware accleration
Friend caster
Mx player
rom manager
I'm not sure how many are fully optimised
Any others ? Would love twitter and Facebook to add hardware acceleration !

Skype - scrolling through huge chat logs is smooth in ICS instead of slightly choppy.

[Q] ICS video issue

I have onecosmic rc3.1 running pretty well (not thrilled with the battery life), but I'm having an issue playing videos in the browser fullscreen.
Whenever I make a video fullscreen, the screen goes white. I've tried with both Dolphin HD (v7.3) and stock browser. The strange thing is, the Youtube app works ok as does Veetle.
Any suggestions?

[Q] Graphics Glitch - ClassicNerd Buttery

Where's My Water app seems to have graphics glitches on this ROM but KANG ROM seems fine. I thought these are all based off CM work? I would expect both to have the glitch?
I also noticed this glitch in the browser. And as you note, I haven't seen it with any of the other ROMs. I know the classicnerd ROM is not a kang of CM9, its separate. So while they share the same camera or HD video deficciencies, for it to have its own issues it somewhat expected.

Haha yeah, I noticed the stock browser lost its top. Maybe next build they'll have wifi fixed too. I love this rom so far. It may just be me, but I thought it felt way smoother than cm9.
I had the same problem with tabs disappearing, go to settings in the browser then labs and select quick controls go back to the browser and press on the page to the right and a menu opens up select setting go to labs de-select quick controls and the tabs should come back
But I'm addicted to the quick controls ...
I noticed in all ICS ROMs the tabs are elusive with quick controls enabled (maybe its ICS Browser + that has the issue, but I think the user agent is a necessity). I just got used to using the preview selector in the quick control to jump to the other tab, and close it with the quick controls.

Cm9 fuzzy video in NBC and ABC apps and dolphin he won't play videos fullscreen

I installed cm9 on my touchpad. It runs pretty smooth. The streaming videos from the NBC and CBS apps are very fuzzy especially in comparison to my nook color or my touchpad in webOS. Also dolphin won't play videos on any site when I press fullscreen. All I get is a blank screen. Are these limitations of the alpha? Is anyone else experiencing these issues? I set my dpi at 120 as it was really fuzzy at 160.
which version of CM9 are you running? I am on alpha 2...and everything works great for me

I'm running alpha 2 and in the NBC and CBS apps their video isn't clear. Also when you try to click on fullscreen video on CBS"s site in dolphin hd the screen blanks out although there is audio. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Don't use Dolphin HD. No need for Dolphin or Opera due to improvements in ICS browsers. Try ICS browser +.
You are right ics browser works in full screen but the proportions are off and the video still isn't as clear as in webos. Any help would be appreciated.

try this out
I agree with trying out ICS Browser +, and try changing the user agent (under advanced settings) to desktop from android.....
I am using cm9 ics browser which allows you to set user agent to desktop which I already did. It is interesting that CBS news video plays well and is very clear , but the video from NBC nightly news is fuzzy. They are both really clear in webos.
