[Beta]CapasOS Beta[Beta] - Click Android Development

Please note I do not take any responsibility for any damage to your device or micro-SD
Hi everyone I am glad to finally write the beta of the all-Italian ROM CapasOS
How to install the ROMI always suggest careful before you begin this process of having the battery fully charged at least 60% to minimize the rickshaw of freeze or a brick
1) Get the rights of ROOT (if you do not know how to follow the guide here)
2) Install the ClockworkMod ( This ROM is compatible with all versions, if you do not know how to install guide here)
3) Download the archive of Capas (See end of post ) and move it to the root of your sd card
4)boot up your phones first time and after that reboot into recovery to flash the ROM( perform this procedure only the first time you install capasOS) ,Start the Recovery Hold down the HOME button (The one with the house) to the ignition and make a backup by selecting the backup / restore menu and then back up, let it work (at this time is bakup doing a full system so that if something goes wrong we can pick this up and get back the system we had before the beginning of the process)
5) Select the item Data Wipe / Factory Reset then yes and let it work (this will reset the device to Factory data, but do not worry the files that you had before are still present in the backup made in step 4)
6) Go into Advanced and select wipe Dalvik cache and let it work then yes
7) Head to Install zip from sd card then choose from ZIP sd card and select the file and confirm with yes the archive downloaded by end post 8) Let it work and at the end click on device reboot
9) Now you have the beta of Capas installed on your device screen and I leave you to

Is everything working?

Since it's essentially cm7 I guess everything is working.

This ROM is actually very fast!
I found a bug (at least its for me) the signal meter is not showing that the phone has a signal, but it actually has and you can call from it.
The 1.0 thing i fixed by editing the buld.prop file

Thank you however what is not true and own a bug, but it is a meter that approximates the data in beta 2 (which I hope to release soon) with the newly redesigned (but not yet final) of the graphics, the current meter will be replaced by a numerically meter more accurate gauge

when first stable version be released, i'll try it. it looks nice though.

That must suck:/ Nothing a boot screen can have caused though... You could try wiping everything and then do the nandroid backup again.
BTW the file size is bigger because the Hero logo from HTC is over 600kb (unzipped)

Edit: False alarm no error...

ok restoring now, careful if it doesn't work and you killed my phone; Danemark isn't that far from belgium...
Just took a look at Cronos Droid zip and the boot screen system is completely diffrent from this... I think when you flash this it conflicts and tries to start two boot screens at once which of cause is impossible:/

Here is the touch recovery with the scripts to flash it from windows mac or linux:

you can include it in the first post.
Don't like the BIG fonts in the recovery , you can't see all of the text of the zip files.

I quite liked it untill I failed to find a way to "power off"... Back to 5.0.2.8 for now.
Edit: But thanks The touch interface itself was a treat. The design made the direct "place finger on chosen option" approach, a little too clunky; but absolutely functional.
The real treat, was being able to use my touch buttons, rather than the mechanical power/volume buttons at the side and top of my phone.
Just a shame that there is'nt an option to shut down the phone for those of us with rebooting issues.

Yes, but rebooting seems to drastically increase the chances of my phone, not detecting my external SD card.
So CWM for me is something like:
1: Turn off phone ----> Pow + Vol = CWM
2: Power off when done with CWM
3: Turn phone back on.
Reboot and I'm going to have to have to shut down the phone regardless, because my external SD is'nt being detected.
I suspect it's because CWM mounts storage in one way, CM in another and LG stock in a third way; some sort of mounting information is carried over when rebooting and my storage management bugs out.

I'd still prefer for power off to be implemented into CWM Touch.
Shutting it down and turning it back on is faster than rebooting and it's not an option with RAMhack kernels either.

I had the same problem and followed your method in earlier CWM. But with new CWM Touch, external SD card mounts ok when directly rebooted into system. No problem after 5/6 rebooting. Try and see.

[Recovery]TWRP recovery for Optimus 4X HD

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP recovery) for LG Optimus 4X HD
Here's the TWRP recovery for LG Optimus 4X HD
Origin site http://www.591fan.com/thread-30056-1-1.html
Credit to @Dexter_nlb for BootStrape/CWM recovery work
HOWTO install
- If you installed the CWM reocvery by @Dexter_nlb, remember to press install recovery again, so the changes take effect.
- Get your o4x root'd,
- Download the APK file and install it
- after installation reboot mobile once (if you do not, the app might fail installing recovery)
- start the LG 4X Recovery app
- press - Install recovery - grant superuser access when prompted
--- Three option lines in the app: 1st Install Recovery, 2nd Reboot Into Recovery, 3rd Normal Reboot
- wait for success OK, if it fails, something is wrong or SU is not properly installed or denied su access. you should set permissions to granted for this app
- after successfull installation, you can press boot recovery and boot into the twrp recovery and make your backups or install custom roms
Click to collapse
Warning && Issue
- DO NOT use the "Formate Date" function in wipe menu, this will make a soft brick, if U did this by mistake, U can reboot into stock recovery and run the "wipe date/cache" function to solve the soft brick.
- This recovery only supported the "standard update.zip" packages, this means some update.zip package which used none standard( EG: some cwm backup style update.zip for 4X HD atm) won't work on this recovery.
- For some reasons this recovery not support cwm bakcup package, only support TWRP backup package style(This is the TWRP issue). But, anyway, I'll make a patch for this later to support cwm backup package.

After I flashed this my phone is now stuck on booting...any way to fix it ?
Just had a bit of a nightmare situation, and would like to offer this advice to people:
**Always check that TWRP automatically turns your screen off after a few seconds of inactivity! **
I didn't. I left it alone backing up for 45 minutes and when I got back the screen was flickering like crazy.
As a result of my negligence my phone screen was almost permanently damaged, and on reboot my WIFI and 3G connections both completely stopped working.
:crying:
Luckily I've managed to fix the connection issue by rolling back to ICS, and the screen appears to be returning to normal by itself.
But heed my warnings - the last three hours have not been fun.
Anyway, off to install CM10.1 now
:fingers-crossed:

Yes, I had the same problem!
i noticed the same but it also happened when screen was off.
i found out in some situations while using twrp the graphics chipsets updates the drawing parts (gui, ...) even if theres nothing more to update on the screen. it also does that when screen is "off"/timed out.
thats why i also took down my gbootmenu cause of twrp. dont want risk any possible damage to our devices.

Is there already anywhere a TWRP 2.6 for P880 compiled ?
oh, finally 2.6 is out. will take a look on it and release it on my 2.5.0.0 thread.
this thread is outdated and not used by people with unlocked bootloader (it also didnt work for me with ics and locked bootloader)
edit: its out since 2 weeks, but the branch is still named twrp2.5, and the branch twrp2.6 is outdated so it confused me.

[Q] [I9001] SGS+ bricked/broken

Hey guys,
I own a SGS+ and tried to flash a ROM a few month ago.
Not sure which one it was in particular but it was a 4.1.2 ROM.
Normally it worked pretty well but that time it broke my phone apparently.
So now a few month later I tried to get it to work again.
My phone stucks at the splashscreen, easy said.
It boots till the splash screen and then it's on for about 3-4 minutes I guess and then the screen turns off.
But apparently it still runs because if I try to start it again over the power button it doesn't work.
I have to remove the battery, insert it again and then I can use the power button.
I tried several things and I'm out of information here.
So maybe one of you guys can help me out here?
Thanks for reading!
Try wiping cache an dalvik cache and fix permissions. If that doesn't help do a full wipe and install a new rom. If it still doesn't work, flash a stock rom via odin. Also, which recovery are you using?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using xda app-developers app
Already did everything you mentioned, multiple times.
Well I used at first CWM 6.0.1.2 then switched to 6.0.2.8, then 6.0.3.2, then 6.0.3.6 and then TWRP 2.4.0.0 and TWRP 2.6.0.0.
I tried those who should be for the bricked phones.
Try to flash a new kernel, then flash a new ROM. You should be able to get into download mode...

That's not the problem.
I can get into download mode, I could get into download mode all the time.
I don't think you got my problem right:
My phone stucks at the splash screen.
Doesn't turn off only screen turns off but the phone is still running.
I can only reboot if I take the battery out.
So it boots up to the splashscreen and stucks.
I flashed a few new roms and nothing worked.
If you can get into download mode, try flahing a stock rom via odin.

Download BroodRom(Not ics or jb just the old GB edition) it's a lifesaver.
1.Go to recovery.
2.Format EVERYTHING(data, cache, dalvik AND system.)
3.Download mode
4.Flash broodrom with Odin.
That should work!

Not really, still the same.
My phone still stucks in splashscreen.
Does nobody else know a solution?
I can flash normal, go to download mode easily and everything else too.
It just stucks in the splashscreen.
Follow my tutorial about how to flash back to stock. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44047896&postcount=2

Maybe you didn't flash appropriate ROM for your device. Read this thread, especially the first post by our forum mate xsensman and try to check if it could be concerning also your device:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890667
Even through I know how to flash, I tried the two links from the guys above and tried them.
Again nothing happened either.
Flashing was okay, everything was fine.
Unfortunately the phone still stucks in splashscreen.
No one else knows what I could do?
verify serial No

Mate, something is strange there. With splashscreen you mean bootloop, right? So you see the logo, but the phone doesn't really loads the Android?
OK, here we go: please remove the battery and write down your serial No and google a bit is it really i9001? There are about 20 different types of SGS so just to make sure which model do you have.
That bootloop can happen for several reasons, but I would assume that in your case it happens either for:
bootloader isn't working properly
you haven't flashed the proper ROM for your device.
I suspect very strongly the bootloader, so re-flashing the bootloader via Odin, theoretically, should revive your phone. Just check (as written above) do you REALLY have i9001, (as otherwise -if not- you could brick it with the bootloader for i9001):
First post, "5. Follow the instruction" (all files there)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32144697
I'm 100% sure that I have a real i9001, not a special edition or something like that.
And I flashed before it got broken a few month and the roms worked just fine.
Well but then it broke somehow.
I just see that my phone with the CWM-Recovery can't format /data and hangs.
Can't do anything unless I remove the battery and boot up again.
Could this be a hint for you guys?

Did you flash the bootloader as I've wrote you in my previous post?

I have no idea what may that be, but are you sure your phone is bricked?
Have you tried to use normal TWRP 2.6 instead of that one for bricked phones?
I don't know, but maybe this helps:
Guide: How to Recover from a bootloop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660596
@tetakpatak: Yes, I did it like the post "suggested".
@3L4CK_5C0RP10N: No, I'm actually not sure, that's why I wrote "bricked/broken".
I'm not the best guy at those things as you can guess.
No, I didn't tried the normal one, gonna try it now, atleast it's worth trying.
I read the post you linked me here and tried those things, unfortunately nothing happened.
Even tried it with ADB, also no solution found there.
But thanks already for the work guys!
suggest you try the following:-
1) power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and entering CWM recovery
2) In CWM recovery, enter Mounts and Storage and Format every partition, that can be formatted, repeat it twice ( You will lose all your data ) meaning you will be trying to get a clean environment for a fresh start. Do not reboot but pull out battery, press power for a few seconds and insert battery.
If you need your data, in mounts and storage, enter usb storage, here with usb connected to PC you can copy your entiere internal SDcard to PC, for salvage later.
3) get into Download mode, to flash the oldest i9000 Stock ROM 2.3.3 with AriesVe.ops using Odin 4.43 ( with ops ticked) How to flash follow this
download ROM from here

Easiest way would be to flash speedmod kernel with Odin 1.87 (or 1.85). It comes with a custom recovery.

Messed up 3 button recovery/download and CWM
Hi I received a Samsung Captivate as a backup option oh 4 months back or so. I use an sgh-i717 and have absolutely zero experience with the captivate. The other day though my Note starting having charging issues so I decided I better set up the Captivate in case the need actually comes for it. Well it already had CWM Recovery and a custom rom, I believe Continuum. Well I wanted to change the ROM but the information I was reading wasn't working and in my frustration I must've messed something up, but I do have step by step log that I wrote during whole process. I've already been reading a bit here but hoping someone can help speed me to info I need since I'm so utterly clueless to this phone.
Ok my current state is this. When booting the phone it displays AT&T screen then a screen that has the word Talon on it and there it remains. The USB apparently stopped working right before it was given to me although unsure to cause. Now the Download/Recovery 3 button combo did work but somehow I broke that and so now I cant really do anything without some help.
Ok here is log of what I did.
1. Boot into CWM
2. wipe data/factory reset
3. Cache wipe
4. Format SD Card
5. Format Cache
6. Format Data
7. Format System
8. Wipe Dalvik Cache
9. Power Off

Well basically you erased everything on your phone without flashing another ROM, hence why it won't fully boot up.
If your usb port isn't working, you'll have to use an external sd and put a ROM + kernel on it (that are 2.2). I suggest Firefly and Speedmod. From there, you'll have to boot in recovery and flash both (ROM first).
Without a working usb, you can't use Odin to flash the stock image on your phone so hope that you can get in recovery!
