Hi All,
I wish to unlock my HTC IncS bootloader and flash custom rom, before that please help me here ... I Need a backup of my current Original ROM, how can I take a backup of rom without rooting?? (to unlock bootloader, we need to use downgrade bootloader that needs flashin with older ROM) how can I backup ??
You can't backup before unlocking bootloader. And if you ain't on hboot 2.00 you can just easy root and flash recovery via revolutionary. In recovery you can backup your stock rom.

Ok, so i have the Incredible S. I Unlocked its bootloader using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337105 but i had to relock it to send it for warranty. When i get it back, i will unlock it again, nut because the phone was on hboot 1.16, i had to flash the boot.img each time i installed a new rom. But, if i use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373697 (which, by the wayy, is how i put my phone's bootloader to stock) will i be able to use the CWM app to install/update roms?
If not, is there a better way to root the phone?
Also, could anyone explain how custom radios and kernels are better than stock?
Thanks

Yes if you use the downgrade tool to get hboot 1.13 and use Revolutionary to S-Off then you will be able to use CWM to flash custom ROMs.
There is no such thing as a custom radio, but each time HTC upgrades a ROM, the RUU may contain a new radio which has improvements.

Hi,
Playing with my new HTC One - I would love to get permroot, but I am not wild about having the phone wiped at this stage and having to reinstall everything again - am I correct that there is no way to achieve root without having the phone unlocked?
Hi
Greetings,
Yes unlocking bootloader will delete everthing but you can backup your data vai abd
To do so visit here
http://www.thesuperusersguide.com/adb-backup--restore.html
Make a backup
Unlock the bootloader
Restore backup
Then flash a recovery
Flash su file if want a stock rooted Rom
Or directly flash a custom Rom as these roms are already rooted

Hi guys!
I have searched the forum and I DO have got a lot of answers. But still I want to get some things clear before I go on.
I just got myself an Xperia Z. It was already updated to 4.3 .569. The phone has a locked bootloader and I found out that it CAN´T be unlocked. So there I´m stuck.
I was first thinking about following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2590088
But then I got some more questions.
If I downgrade according to that guide... since I get a custom recovery, can I flash any custom ROM that is made for locked bootloader? Do I even have to use the 4.3 .569 used in the thread above or can I just downgrade and root then choose the ROM to my liking?
Thanx for all your help!
Downgrading
Dear friend:
1-the easy way::laugh:
2-Flash 4.2.2 with flash tool
3-Root on locked boot loader
4- Install Dual Recovery follow
5- Install 4.3/4.2 Pre-rooted or any other rom of your choice.
Once you've downgraded, rooted and have a custom recovery, you can use any rom you like, as long as it's a stock based rom for locked bootloaders.
You cannot flash anything based on CM/PAC/AOSP/AOKP etc as they require a custom kernel and therefore an unlocked bootloader.

Dear all,
I have rooted my device which is running 4.3 (c5502) (build number: . 101) with towelroot. Now i need to install any custom ROM. I came to know that it requires to install recovery first before flash any ROM. I stuck there..Can you please guide me. I didn't unlock my bootloader yet but I had my TA backup with me.Thanks in advance guys.
whatever u need to know is already there. just search for it. if u expect to be spoonfed then you really shouldn't mess with your phone
The thing is, do we really need to unlock boot loader to flash custom roms, or can it be closed just with root and recovery?
No one tryed it till now I think.
Greetings.

Yes for flashing custom Roms the bootloader must be unlocked and a recovery must be installed however if you want to flash a stock based Rom unlocked boot loader is not needed. Just Root and Recovery needed for flashing the stock based Roms. Correct me if i am wrong.
Hello everyone, I am writing to ask for help for my problem, I own a HTC One mini 2, Roma had the stock completely original, after I unlocked the bootloader entered the custom recovery, and finally the root, I installed a 5.1 rom lollipop. Now I would like to go back to stock rom, I tried to flash the rom stock on this site, but after having flashed the phone restarts hboot even after putting the boot.img of Rom. I ask for help in order to submit the original ROM. now are S-ON. aspect your answers thank you very much.

What SW version are you on, i you are S-ON you cannot flash a lower version than the one already installed on your phone, it has to be a similar or higher version, plus it has to be precisely for your Model or it will fail.
The only option is to restore stock ROM Backup through TWRP and flash stock recovery...

Hi,
All steps are explained in detail here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/general/stock-ruu-rom-recovry-htc-one-mini-2-t3250020
You need to have TWRP installed to restore Nandroid backup.
