my dear and most respected members of xda
hi all
i opening this thread with lots of expectations that i will get what i want
i know there are lots of great folks here from the different walks of life who can guide me...
i,m currently using gingerbread 2.3.6
and i don,t wanna live with gingerbread anymore
i tried flashing cm some version i don,t know it was success but i had to face Gapps problem... i could have sorted that out but with lack of time i did not attempted it..
with out making long anymore i,ll come to the point
i know cm is great rom. but i also heard emanon is also very stable and fast rom..
i,m asking all the great folks to tell me what is right and what is wrong..
mini.. should i have cm or emanon..
if any of the great man using cm or emanon please tell me how it,s working.
did u face any problems,? if yes.. what are they, did u had solution..
please provide me the links to rom and the gapps
and also the link to tutorial how it,s done.. and troubleshoot link as well
my expectation are very high from all of you..
please help me!!!!
Like Jordan is for basketball, and Sachin for cricket..
CM is for complete custamization nd extra features (rc5.7 by squad ) but with less battery life ( except rc5.3 by squad and rc1 by mebitek )..
similarly emanon is for battery and performance ( V5 ) but with less customization...
So its just a matter of choice..use both the roms nd knw the difference.
HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU

Whatta lazy person
Anyway I think it's not fair to comparing between CM and Custom Stock ROM, maybe if you compare between Emanon with Chocobread also with MORE and androID etc it will be fair enough
FYI have you seen this before? Go find your seat on Galaxy Mini Android Development sections and see what you want ... and please don't be lazy, smartphones is for the one who wanna learn and try not ask and try (no offense dude)

my advice.. try all the ROMS here LOL.. we have lots of developers who are kind enough to expand the usage of our MINI phone hahaha
that's what i did and finally get the exact ROM for me
which is secret... hahahaha

share your secrets bro..
so that others can take benefit from it.. and remeber u in their prayers
It Depends on the taste of the person...
For example, at the beggining of the "Rom's World" I used EmanoN v3 because it was pretty fast and saved my battery life a Lot! But at time goes by, I got bored of the EmanoN and then I installed CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC 5.3 (at first was 5.2 but then the Update came) and I loved it. It brings you a lot of tweaks and useful tool (besides of the Theme Chooser). For the Gapps, the only thing that I did was to flash the gapps from the Recovery.
Of course, *le wild new version of this CM7 appeared! RC 5.4 -> 5.5 -> 5.6 -> 5.7... and I tried all of them except for the 5.7. (RC 5.7 -> Forever Alone in my mind) and I still use the 5.3 ( *le wild 5.4, 5.5 & 5.6 says: ok u.u) because I liked more the 5.3 and didn't like some of the changes in the later updates. (*le wild RC 5.3 says: So Much Win ).
So.. as gboy2011 says, Try all the ROMs that you like, but FIRST! use CWM to make a backup of your current and safe state of your phone.
You need to explore the "ROM's World" o.o but do not explore it without your CWM backup, or you'll be like a hunter trying to explore a Dangerous jungle with a stick as a weapon
I just came to CM from stock 2.3.6, never used any other ROM but CM. I got a little bit traumatized because the first time I flashed CM, I did some stupid things and got boot looping LOL so I went back to stock ROM, got bored again and decided to reflash CM. Everything went fine(thanks yagya) and now I am in love with this ROM.
Never used another but CM because for me, customization is the biggest factor for me to use it. I simply love to customize, and CM offers beautiful and awesome themes, a LOT of new options that makes me proud of my little galaxy. Changing CM7? Just for CM9 . But of course it depends on the person and its tastes
Sorry for the big text and for bad english

You should try yourself to experience both benefit on your own. Simply asking don't provide clearer picture. Both also have their own features. If your intention more to customize, cm is better. emnon for more on performance. Interface also different. You need try out yourself which fit for you. You will more understand if you do your own research.

Hi guys.
I've been looking for a ROM to replace Cyanogen...
Found this Echelon ROM (Brahma) and saw the feedback was good about it.
Battery improved, smooth use... anyway, I flashed CM 7 months ago on my P970 and it's working good for me but I think there is more power in my device, but seems that all this power isn't being shown by CM.
Advise me here, is a good change to go from CM to Echelon?
Thank you!

Make a nandroid and then try echelon. If you dont like it, you re back to CM in about 10 minutes i prefere it very much by CM, cause it has less bugs (0), is fast, stable and the battery for me is waaay better as in CM.
Hope it helps

i'm on zeus v6 right now and i like it very much, next week going to try echelon brahma for sure.. en then make a dicision what rom i like the most.
zeus and echelon are the roms i like the most..
ik also tried cm a couple of weeks ago but that wasn't going very well.
I strongly recommend you to do this.
Echelon works fine, is an excellent rom for OB, altough it isn't finished yet.
Post your feedback here!
Echelon and Mavel versions are great, Cm is for me the best Rok for the OB, but hattery consumption is horrible, try Marvel instead Echelon and you wont regret.
Regards!
Agreed... CM has horrible battery drain, that's why I'm trying other ROMS.
I'm using Zeus v6 and I'm enjoying this ROM. Also tryed Echelon, but it is unfinished, besides is a nice ROM too.
Will try the Marvel ROM soon, wanna find the best ROM for me
I recommend you to try Echelon ROM (Brahma). Its the most stable custom rom I've tested by far. I am currently using it for over a week now and I haven't experienced any bugs or crushes compared to CM7.
I have a little problem though on setting up Live Wallpapers.
Do anyone of you know how to set Live Wallpapers in this rom?
Cheers,

Hi,
i installed the Echelon ROM on my Black too, and im very satisfied with this rom. Its the best ROM currently on market, and im following the Echelon Thread nearly every day to check if there are any Updates regarding this ROM.
But unfortunately today i didnt find the Thread anymore?!
It seems that the developer of this rom has deleted his Thread?
Does anybody know why? It would be very sad if he decided to stop this ROM

Brahma was a base ROM for V20o with minimal tweaks, but faster than stock. As what could have been next will never be seen, like a unicorn. For what can be/could have been added, what lacks..
*Try the iwconfig for TX Power
*GPS fix (or compare gps.conf to others)
*For some values, download Sysctl Config in Market (you will have a sysctl.conf file automatically added in system/etc)
*Didn't add Terminal, download one in market
*Didn't delete libGLES_android (for battery), up to you. There are tweaks in build.prop anyway.
*Has original libsqlite (Alpha and Brahma), working bluetooth out of the box
*In Alpha I added quickpic and deleted galery3d, alarm clock in exchange of another.
Why dont you continue it dude? Means I have to switch to Zeus again? I really loved your ROM, as you should know Sad to hear...

i was wondering, where is the echelon topic went? i couldn't find it anymore..

Hello
I am trying to flash an stable ICS rom for my brothers phone but I really can't find anyone without major bugs. CM9 = to much bugs, Nyx RC 5.0 is just pure ****, Slim ICS (what the **** is wrong with the font?) So can someone recommend me a nice and clean ICS rom that is stable enough for daily use?
I just installed CM9 today and it works pretty good despite the camera and the radio (and now there are alternatives to avoid those bugs too).

CM9 is sluggish as hell so I wouldn't recommend that either. However I don't really understand your font issue with Slim ICS. It does only have 5 system languages but you can install additional fonts to display languages via the "Updater" app included.
In your case as you've eliminated Slim ICS, I guess ICS333 (Team 3xtr3m3) is probably the best one out there. AOSP based with toggles from AOKP and offers a good balance between performance and battery life, with no bugs I can really tell.
Team-Nyx (RC5) yet the most stable rom for me on ics and its pure AOSP

Actually I find cm9 to be the fastest. I've gotten the highest benchmarks compared to slim ics, aokp, etc. Plus I have a bit more trust on cyanogenmod than aokp. Team nyx is pure ics stock but its really slow. Cm9 all the way for me always.

Hi !
Unfortunately, though ICS is extremely good the Custom ICS has it's quirks !
This is because they are developed without source codes from Samsung and no matter how good they are, at a certain point they show their lack of support which they never received from the manufacturer in the first place and therefore after a few days ( or if lucky, weeks) things don't work properly and needs reboots frequently.
Having ICS is like having a short love affair.
Use Gingerbread or change phones.
Sad fact, but true.
Look at the custom ICS camera and look at the original ICS camera. Do you think that we are going to get all the goodies in the SGS ?
Similarly, there are many great features of ICS which the developers cannot give us.
Time to move on.
Take care.

Hello the most stable ROM was RC4.2 with semaphore 1.1.1
Now I am on RC5 from Team Nyx. It's stable. The only thing that doesn't work is YouTube. Flashing another kernel from Devil (2_0.94) will help.

Hi.
Can you please stop posting these opinions as facts, when the "problems" can easily be fixed. This is a development forum, at least it used to be, and you cannot expect everything to work right out of the box like official stock firmware (even though it does most of the time). It's not like you've been scammed by a car salesman selling you a car without an engine.
No offense intended, but please stop it.

My apologies.
U r correct . In fact, perhaps I might go back to ICS again cause in reality, Gingerbread is not user friendly....there I go again...

i have tried almost all of ics roms but always got back to Elite roms for the stability, smoothnes and battery life
Rom: Elite RC v1.3
Kernel: midnight 202L
Launcher: Apex Launcher with sense4.0 dock
Theme:Sense 4.0 for EliteRom
I can highly recommend ICS333 2.0.1 with Semaphore kernel. Perfectly stable, not one reboot so far. It's fast, simple and works well in every way.
It's all just opinions, try them out

Everybody has his own taste, some people like AOSP, some people like AOKP, some people like CM9 while some people like slim ROM regardless with few bugs ... also there are people here in this forum (like you) who install ROMs incorrectly n find it **** (yes i am pointing to Team Nyx's ROM). When you have tried some of the ROMs, why don't you try all of the ROMs?
p.s. Team Nyx's AOSP is the only ICS ROM I found stable and less battery consuming after slim, this is only my point of view.

Kernel is older but if it works fine, why not?
Which app do you use on movie? Mx or Mobo or someone other?
Thank you for your answer and comments.
Sorry for my english.
Sabsa is really good, you should definitely give it a try For videos I use MX, it looks good and has got a very nice interface with great functions. And since you're obviously using a good headset you should really try DSP-Manager, which makes every music experience a freakin blast on your phone! It's just awesome!
just my opinion

sabasa is a good rom without a doubt, and i think with redux kernel it perform [email protected]@
i am using unofficial CM10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082327 currently

its really smooth and stable, if u like sense 3.6, blackout rom is definitely a good choice for u
its so great with its beastmode kernel(the battery and performance )
and if u want to look for the sense 4.0 rom
except sabasa, venom is a good choice too
it provide lots of custom tweaks and venom hub, u can change lots of things if u want
above is just my opinion, u can take for advice or ignore me
PS. for movie i use MX player:cyclops:

On Sense or MIUI ROMs DSP-Manager. On AOSP/AOKP/CM ROMs ACID sound engine with AwesomeBeats Addon. The sound will blow you away!
lots of great ROMs out there
I am using CyanVivoX just like u. I came from Paranoid Android. As of now, I have tried quite a number of different ROMs. I have tried CyanVivoX, Codename Android, Paranoid Android, ViperVivo by Team Venom, Sabsa Prime v12, Nik Project X, Cooldroid Revolution, Virtuous Quattro, virtuous Infinity, and Rebased Multilang MIUI4
I first tried Sabsa Prime and i loved it for its sense 4 and its mods included. However i decided to try ViperVivo simply cuz it had more to offer in terms of customization. However Sense bogged my phone down a lot and thats when i decided to transition to an AOSP based ROM and that brought me to Paranoid Android.
Of all of them my favourite is Paranoid Android, but Launcher just crashed way too much for me. So i decided to give CyanVivoX a try and i dont regret it. Trebuchet has only crashed like once or twice on me over the past 2 weeks and i think that it would be worth to keep. I have also tried Pacman ROM but the problem with that is that it doesnt read any microSD card. (love to report that but dont have my 10 posts yet lol)
With all that in mind, if u do make the move to Sabsa Prime, its a great ROM with a number of good Mods included. If i were to change back to a Sense ROM, Sabsa Prime would definitely be my go.
So... I choose Sabsa for my phone.
(I had CyanVivo X and Trebuchet fall down everyday)
But I have little problem.
I download youtube, but I just can´t login. I try remove google account in phone and login one more time, but still nothing.
Some advice?

yea there are still a number of problems in Sabsa. I also cudnt log into youtube, and if u tried updating apps from within the playstore, that also doesnt work. Thats one of the reasons why i got to CyanVivoX.
Another great alternative for JB AOSP would be Paranoid Android. its a great ROM with a number of different configuration modes like phone, phablet, and tablet UI. I liked it a lot.

Yes, I had to.
There are a couple of other good ROMs too:
1. For tweaks and good level of customizations, you can go for IceColdSandwich 8.3 (currently inactive though)
2. For an improved version of HTC Stock ICS ROM, you can go for ARHD
3. For Sense 4 ROM, try sabsa prime, it has less tweaks but included JB butter and other applications. Also it is a very stable ROM
4. For a different UI experience, try the Paranoid Android JB ROM or MIUI ROM - I am currently on MIUI 3.1.11 and am quite satisfied in terms of experience and battery life.. Further MIUI fixes are released weekly.
5. There is a new PACman ROM which combines Paranoid, Aokp and Cyanogen features.. It is on CM10..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2105869

There has been a fix for wifi now. i think its on page 3 or 4 at the bottom of the page. I dont know if its jsut me but the ROM doesnt recognize my SD Card. Thats why i stayed away from it. Paranoid Android is a great ROM. Excellent level of customization. For sense, u cud go sabsa prime (please keep in mind that it isnt possible to update apps in google play store) or vipervivo. ViperVivo has a good level of customization. Thats clear from the devs creating the venom hub.
Well, ive tried lots if ROMs, but ARHD is the one I allways go back to. It has great battery life, no bugs and it just works. I used to really like ice cold sandwich and other stock android ROMs but Optus + AOSP/AOKP isn't a good combination xD

Also, I'll add that the ROMs with higher sense versions than 3.6 seem to clog my device pretty badly. Add first, they run great, but after a day or 2, It's reeeeeeally slow and unresponsive.

I seem to like the ViperVivo 1.3.1.
The link to the rom is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956849
Hi there.
I been spending several hours reading user's opinions about several roms for the xsp.
I saw plenty of unofficial roms based on cyanogenmod official roms. And the question that pops into my mind it's.
Why so many mods? People doesn't like the official releases?
Also I been reading that 5.1 roms are laggy, and in a custom rom i'm looking for stability and performance.
Maybe I should go for and official cyanogenmod 11 rom?
Maybe for a stock based rom?
What do you think?
Hello.
Yes, there is a lot of rom for SP. But just a few work as it supposed to.
Lollipop it is in his nightly stage, though is very stable and the most recent apps, you will be able to use.
There is too a recent patch for security, we should take in consideration, Im using myself as a daily driver without problems, nevertheless still have some minor bugs, but nothing that cant make you wish to throw your SP on wall
If you want to test and see how looks like, I would recommend Sabermod Unofficial Or CM 12.1 Official Nightly
cm12.1+ addons imo cuz it's my second full month on it and it never failed me ....no problems for me and great performance

battery is good too yep
Go for CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies with addons...Its Best for lollipop based ROMs.
You can try unofficial CM13 also if you can use the phone without camera. Battery life and performance of CM13 is far better than cm 12.1.
To be honest, is a matter of usage and preference. For me it was working fine but my phone got way too hot for my taste, but the deal breaker was that no matter what lolipop ROM I used facebook HD playback was choppy as hell. I know that it sounds silly but that's something that I need. None of these issues exist on stock, of course (C5306 - 1.205)
I think the Sabermod unofficial takes the lead on cm12.1 ... Great battery and butter smooth. I think it' s the for performance and battery !
I use official CM11 slimmed by me, without gapps, disabled LogCat, little modified build.prop + WilliamsPLUS and I'm really happy ; p
which 5.1 rom has fewer lag and more batterylife?
@beodo
A sea of roms but many of them are discontinued or not updated, so first check that one.
As fellow members said CyanogenMod 12.1 Unofficial SaberMod with add ons is the best right now for me as well, very fast, really fluid, stable and good battery life, in is some parts is even better than the latest official stock rom.
I m using this rom for over a month and i love it.
If you need even better battery life you could use Helium kernel (just dirty flash at recovery) and enable conservative governor, if you would like to take it further you can also install xposed framework which unlocks you much more features like power saving better experience, extra customization and more.
All of the above are continuously updated and supported by our great developers too :good:
@iceweek
The above answers you question as well
Thinking about trying this one.

Is this one stable for daily use?
Also, do I have to download Latest Xperia Apps Installer.zip if I am using latest ultimate zip?
Please reply.
