I rooted my phone (Milestone) with the SuperOneClick method, but it seems that that isn't enough to flash custom ROMs, and I need to use OpenRecovery to flash custom ROMs. I'm trying to follow this guide but the link for Recovery-Only SBF for Milestones with firmware 2.1 is down. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of that? Thanks

Why would you want to use the deprecated version? That guide needed an update more than a year ago already .
The correct link to current version is still working fine.
See http://android.doshaska.net/rootable
The correct direct link is and always was http://www.mediafire.com/?jzzjmmrvwkz

I'm sorry, but I am very unexperienced in this matters. I installed the CM9 Nightly 6 ROM, but as some apps don't seem to work (and I need them to) I was trying to return to official LG ROM. However, I do not need to unroot my phone. How can I do this?
May I just connect to LG update Tool and do so?
Or is it a better way?
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

I'm sorry again, but this was the procedure I made when I wanted to root my phone, so do you mean that if i do it again i will be back into firm rom?
And then will i be able to update it to the latest version available using lg update tool (this tool stoped working when i installed the custom rom)?
Thank you so much for the attention on this matter

Let me ask something else though. How do I get a Stock Rom to flash? because the link i found in this forum to the custom roms is .kdz so i do not know how to use it in smartflashtool. And also, how do I follow the root guide when the ROM I have is 4.0.4 and there is so such option in the root guide?
Thank you and excuse me
If u use one of those to root you will be back on stock. Even if you are on 4.0.4

I tried to follow that link but it doesn't seem to go to any page, it appears "No thread specified".
And when i'm rooting, should i use the same files i used before and flash superuser or not?
Use one of the rooting guides and do everything it says

Just to clarify, if i would exactly what it's said in the root procedure, i'll get back into an official rom from lg, that's right?
The last time i did this, it appeared in the system some apps in russian, but when updating through lg update tool, they'll be gone, right?
Thanks again

You will need to unlock your bootloader at htcdev.com
Then you will need to download superuser.zip at clockworkmod.com

Yes the down side of unlocking the bootloader is that it will also do a System Reset and wipe out your downloaded apps and data, including your contacts. You can sync your contacts to your Google account and should be ok.

You could manually install it from SD card, but you'd have to be stock. I think I'll give it a shot and give up Cataclysm for a few days to check out the new camera fixes.

Yes, but the process is the same. You can also do it from the SD card: http://www.technostall.com/nexus-7-android-43-update/
Perfect option if you don't have a computer with you.

You don't have to have stock recovery. I've got TWRP and it flashed just fine. Put the zip on your SD. Boot into TWRP/CWM, flash as you would any other zip.
BUT, you WILL lose root.
*edit* I should also add that other than TWRP and root, I was completely stock.
Cool! Did you lose user data?

You have not mentioned any specifics, such as Windows or Linux? Fastboot or moto-fastboot? Current device drivers? Does the flash fail? What does the error say? Screenshots would be good along with a description of steps you took. The best anyone can do at this point is direct you toward a relevent thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2421418

@nickachu22 Here is the thread for Mythtools http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262726
Right at the top there is a line which reads - For the option of installing CWM: plz rename the /system/etc/install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak before installing. Sr all users who got trouble with this. I forgot this step =.= Will add in next version.
And here is a differnt tool for flashing recoveries: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50096694&postcount=1
