I'm sorry, but I am very unexperienced in this matters. I installed the CM9 Nightly 6 ROM, but as some apps don't seem to work (and I need them to) I was trying to return to official LG ROM. However, I do not need to unroot my phone. How can I do this?
May I just connect to LG update Tool and do so?
Or is it a better way?
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

I'm sorry again, but this was the procedure I made when I wanted to root my phone, so do you mean that if i do it again i will be back into firm rom?
And then will i be able to update it to the latest version available using lg update tool (this tool stoped working when i installed the custom rom)?
Thank you so much for the attention on this matter

Let me ask something else though. How do I get a Stock Rom to flash? because the link i found in this forum to the custom roms is .kdz so i do not know how to use it in smartflashtool. And also, how do I follow the root guide when the ROM I have is 4.0.4 and there is so such option in the root guide?
Thank you and excuse me
If u use one of those to root you will be back on stock. Even if you are on 4.0.4

Just to clarify, if i would exactly what it's said in the root procedure, i'll get back into an official rom from lg, that's right?
The last time i did this, it appeared in the system some apps in russian, but when updating through lg update tool, they'll be gone, right?
Thanks again

SOC1.9.5. Like Noejn said I also didn't noticed any difference. The only thing I see since v10b is LG making new versions just to make most people happy with new releases nothing more.

First and most important thing is to do Factory Reset via Hidden Menu 3845#*970#. This will un-root your phone and clear all data. Then do a firmware upgrade and after that again Factory Reset. This is the safest method.

The factory reset doesn't un-root the phone. The "called" root moves both superuser.apk and su binary to the respective folders so if you do a factory reset they will not be deleted.. To un-root you need to do it with the application you used to root the phone or flash firmware.
Hi A question for the factory V20O ROM, how can I, rootolni? I can only take root, can not be recovery. In this I ask for your help.

Just run the exe file to open the toolkit. First, if NVFlash drivers are not installed, select that option (I) to install the driver.
Then, select the option which you want. Each option's detailed description (what it does) is explained here in the first post. Read it completely and you should be able to use the toolkit.
If you are still having doubts, tell us, what do you wish to do exactly with the toolkit? Flash a new bootloader? Change partition size? Flash recovery?
Hi, i have a stock P990 upgraded to GB v20e. for some magical reason, LG does not want/allow me to upgrade to ICS.

Philippines v20e, it was the latest at that time and I never bothered to update to the latest GB version again.
Just found out that LG Blocks upgrades to ICS if you have an older OS version.
I called customer service and they recommend sending my phone to the service center to upgrade it to ICS (pay fee if not under warranty).
btw, i downloaded the tool from the above link, i went straight to option #6 - updated to ICS using the stock KDZ files.
----the option to the change recovery using nzflash didnt work, cannot detect usb devices. went straight to #6 and didnt bother the other options. i have no idea what other options does or their purpose.

Most features in this tool requires a rooted phone. If all you want is to update your stock ROM, you don't need to flash a recovery (and you won't be able to either if your phone is not rooted).
Using nvflash, you have to unplug your phone between operations. Only one nvflash operation can be performed at a time.

I think of you dont understand the Manual or the Simplicity of this Tool you should not use it anyway. some basic skills in Android are needed. I may sound harsch but thats what it is. If you dont understand than maybe you brick your Phone and then its the developer to blame... Seen this tons of times... sadly. :crying:
I'm totally new to the LG world. I know my stuff with my Xperia (i test official PAC)
My girlfriend has the LG and it's totally stock on ics.
1- should it have updated to JB?
2- i read once on JB the bootloader can be unlocked?
3- is there a guide around to take it from stock ics to a rooted, bootloader unlocked with recovery state so I can flash 4.2.2 PAC on her phone?
Thanks for your replies

This is my understanding too. Bear in mind that as soon as official updates are released a developer here will make it available on xda. This means you often get updates before you would normally (because they are rolled out at different times depending on carrier and region).
