Slow charging battery

I just rooted my gfs hero after asking her if I could for over a month
She is noticing that when she plugs her phone into the wall to charge it that it seems to be taking a lot longer...
We are both running cm6, I have decs #14 kernel and setcpu running, she has the cm6 kernel and no setcpu
Any ideas why hers is charging so slow? Starting to think I never should have rooted hers haha

Try putting the kernel on hers and c how it works out also wen charging I always turn wifi off auto sync off and mobile data off my phone charges way faster vs on good luck

Honestly it could be the battery... but a slow charge is good fore the battery.. every once in a while ill run my battery all the down and usb charge it over night its good for it
So if it continually gets worse is not the rom its the battery.

I did load the kernel and setcpu
but im upstairs without a wall charger - so its on my computer right now so it keeps juice - i will check back in and let you guys know how it goes

Your probably just thinking that its started after the root. Its like when you notice a new type of car on a commercial and then you start seeing them everywhere on the streets even though you think you never saw them before the commercial, but you really did you just didnt notice them.
Like I said leave it alone monitor it and if its really charging slower. I dont really see how a rom or kernel would affect charging rates, battery drain yes but not how fast it charges.

Well if the battery is draining at a faster rate will it not take a longer time to charge unless you have your phone off there are processes running in the background at all times not to mention the programs any one individual might have running on there phone hence forth if you have a better kernel to mange power consumption and CPU processes would this not make a difference in charge time correct me if I'm wrong

[Q] How to charge Battery

I just want to ask about charging battery..
I use ICS rom now and everyday must charge
my question is :
1. when battery charging is it good to TURN OFF or TURN ON the phone?
2. can you explain me about wipe battery stats?
because I still confuse after wipe battery stats..must I charge again until 100% or what else? :silly::silly:

1. Better is when your phone is turned off while charging
2. If you change your rom, charge battery to 100% and wipe stats

i think its better to charge battery when phone is on because when you turn phone on you may drain battery for 2~3 %
and wipe battery in cwm advance options when your batt is full

thats incorrect, with that its like telling everytime you reboot your phone its bad for the battery...not at all, thats just consuming!
its better for the electricity badget though :silly::laugh:
i dont think there is big difference between the two of them, but if you want to do it right i think you should charge it powered off

If you are getting battery drain:go to cm setting and then go to performance,cpu,use undervolt.

To calibrate the battery, it is better Battery Calibration (Free Play Store), just wait until 100% load and calibrate, no need to restart

I use a battery calibration for a long time and I did a perfect job. behaves in 3-4 days: D: D: D

F*** UP BATTERY AND STABILITY ! geez...

Hi all , sorry for making 3 threads but i am just so so so damn frustrated ....i just flash my tab back to stock and flash it back to paranoid android cm10 1.99a version and all hell breaks loose , my tab HAS SOME REALLY BAD BATTERY to the point i dunno wad the hell is the battery indicates , when i put it to charge it is at a constant 61% no up no down but when i remove the charger and reboot it goes to 1 % and shut down immedieatly i mean seriously what the hell ?? i tried reflash , format but no use ....and it tends to restart every now and then ( i suspect it's the battery ) and i can't flash humberos for some reason ....it says operation aborted or something ...really i really need some help over this battery issue ....please help

I understand your frustration.
Remember your initial CM9 flash went bad, shutting down by itself when you remove charger, and subsequent flash goes to bootloop and such.
I think it is all because of the battery.
I would recommend fixing this before doing more flashes. If it happens to be flashing your bootloader (for example during restocking), and the power run out, you may brick your device.
Have you wipe the battery stats from CWM menu, then power off the tab and fully charge it for say 8hrs, using the original 2A rated wall charger ?
The other option that some people suggested is by opening up the tab (google for proper video instruction) and unplug the battery, wait a while, then replug it back.

Boot into CWM recovery and then wipe battery stats......or use battery calibrator from play store.....(recommended:wiping battery stats)

Wiped stats but with no good =(

for what it is worth, what I do is I wipe at real low level.
Then I power it off. then I charge for 8hr.

to make sure your battery isn't fWordup, touch the charger after 20 minutes, if it is hot, then it is charging, if not, your battery isn't consuming electric power from the charger, so it is indeed fWord.
replace it asap before any other flashing!

I dont think the battery died cause i had the same problem few months back and i solved it.....

flashed back to stock and now it's fine ...
damn never gonna try paranoid for a while until a newer version a very good rom indeed but lacks stability for me at least

but still whats up with the battery .. =(

Give your tab a break. Stay in one rom for a few charge cycles.
The battery needs to be conditioned.

Finally the battery is OK now using aokp build 40 but how long does it take to fully charge a tab ?it charges like 1 % every 5 mins which is very slow not that I am complaining just seeing my battery charge makes me smile

hm.. that is about 8hrs for full charge. a bit too long. Mine usually 3hr+ I think.
Are you using the original charger? 2A rated?

original ..nvm i think imma just stick the charger in my tab 24/7 then lol

I have same experiences, after flashing custom rom.
What i did was put my tab in refrigerator for couple of minutes let it cold then charge it using wall charger for couple of hours.
It works for me.

I think it requires some inbuilt hardware for fast charge.

Its not possible -_- our Hardware doesn't support quick charge -_-

Fast charging requires hardware support in both the phone and the charger, which we don't have.
That said, our battery capacity is small enough that charging to 100% is fast!
