All found in /sdcard/TitaniumBackup.. but they are archived in a different way so don't mess with it if you still want to restore your apps properly..

Titanium Backup

Just a quick question/wondering if anyone would know. If i use titanium backup and make a backup of all the applications, transfer that folder to my computer, edit a few programs (as in changing the color, etc.) and then without resigning the .apk's just restore the apps on my phone, could that possibly work??

Backing up /data/app folder

Would backing up this folder enough to restore apps after wiping and flashing a new rom? I know this can be done via Titanium back up app, but all 3rd party apk apps are installed in this folder.

no parts of apps are installed elsewhere too such as custom folders or dbdata..
and some apps are installed to sd.
use titanium backup, mybackup pro, or appmgr to back up apps

Are there any reasons why we can't just back up a folder and then restore it which is a much easier step than working with Titanium etc...But I've the feeling that it's not that obvious and ta echnical whizzkid who would like to enlighten us about this would be greatly appreciated...
You can save your APKs in a folder you can copy them back but you have not installed them .

Some apk apps install just by tapping on them or is there a technical reason this should be avoided

CWM Nandroid as mentioned above is the best choice. It backs up everything including /system/ also use Root Explorer to keep a backup of all your /system/, Then there's also the deodexed files from the done_app incase you screw up.
Just Use CWM Nandroid, File Expert, ROOT Explorer... or search XDA.
You can find appropriate topics, to make yours copy.

[Q] Default Xoom apps?

I flashed my Xoom with a custom ROM but haven't been able to restore my app backups of the apps that came with it (Quickoffice, Citrix, Motoprint). Is anyone able to provide APKs of these apps?
i asked the same question like everywhere but no answer gd luck finding them bro and i you found something tell me meanwhile citrix can be downloaded from market
Man i have managed to find all of the apps but i couldnt isntall them
Same. I am thinking about restoring my Nandroid backup and then making new backups of the apps but I don't know what would be the best way to do that and if the files would work on the CNA ROM.
Place the .apk(s) in your mnt/system/app folder then reboot. Make sure your system is in R/W status.
I've already tried this, but it hasn't worked. I don't know if the fact that the files have accompanying odex files is causing the issue or what, but it's getting quite annoying.
Hmm ... i take it you tried the data folder as well. This is odd.
Post the APK(s) and I will see if I can install them on my xoom
later on .
Use titanium backup and restore the apps directly from your backup.
The backup i am referring to is your nandroid.
TB will allow you to restore apps and data from it.

Extract Sony backup and restore files?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to extract file that created by stock Sony backup and restore utility?
It seems like the file is encrypted as I have to enter password at time of creating them. I need to extract one chat history and restore it manually.
Thanks!

I too would be grateful to see if anyone has achieved this, i have flashed my phone and i have som app data in an stock backup i would need! =)
hey.
my simple trick to restore my sms messeages from a "Sony backup & Restore"-FullBackup was, that i backuped only the empty messages again to a new Restorepoint. than i replaced the created file with that one from the fullbackup folder. only replace the file and do not delete other files or folders!
when you restore now from the last backup, you will get the content from the fullbackup.
i hope, this will help you ... but you need the Sony backup App for this procedure
I have problem with backup . I've done it while i was on 5.0.2 with system app backup and restore . Now on 5.1.1 with same app i can not restore it back cause they are not compatible... Is there any tricks that could help me here to somehow extract and open files from .semc-fullbackup folder?
