skype video calls finally works

I updated skype today and video calls appeared in skype dialog. For now, because of froyo 2.2 only Back Camera works

Finally time to update and see if it works with both on v20e.
Video calls now available on the following:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (T-Mobile)
HTC SHOOTER (KDDI)
Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman
Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V
Acer Iconia Tablet (A500)
LG Optimus Black LANDSCAPE ONLY
LG Optimus 3D LANDSCAPE ONLY
LG Optimus 2x LANDSCAPE ONLY
Motorola Photon
Motorola Droid3 LANDSCAPE ONLY
Motorola Bionic LANDSCAPE ONLY
Motorola Xoom
Motorola Atrix
EDIT: Tested now and both cameras work on V20E. Might be just my device but skype feels slower now after the update and with the cam option activated.

Front and back one works on V20E.
But feels a bit more sluggish.

Finally.
Tho it probably works on stock based roms.
Doesnt work for me on CM7.
Anyway there's a guy "TheosOo" over the SGS i9000 Forum who keeps taking the original skype code and he releases a custom version of it.

Because you have a froyo rom, you need GB to use front camera.

Aaah, yes. I'll go to the Topagigi GB soon, I just dont have the time these days. I just recently got the phone so was a bit careful and wanted to wait for the official GB but screw them

You need to go to skype settings and enable the video call option.

I dont think it works for MIUI & CM7. It works perfectly on stock based GB roms.

Well i get OK Qualiti in normal resolution (720x576),but HD (1024x720) and FullHD (1920x1080) are not Working,so if anyone have any other APP it well bee good,ty!

Without any kind of hardware acceleration I'm pretty sure FullHD is out of reach. I'd say you would have to do like me, which is to run CM7 instead (with ICS theme if you like the halo look). Using there latest etana 3.0 kernel you get both speed and great battery and with the modified stock LG camera you get really nice quality 1080p recording.

Just tried with zeus 6.23. It plays them flawlessly with mx hwand with stock lg player.

Not supported with stock player and with mx only s/w not h/w. So basically not supported from ob's hardware.

well, thanx anyway man, now i know that max hw decoding support of this phone is 720p avc [email protected]4.1 cabac/4 ref frames and that is good enough for me considering phones like xperia neo v and galaxy w cant even play 720p avc [email protected]/4 frames , so im going to buy lg optimus black, i finally made up my mind about this phone.

I don't know much about technical and stuff about phones but i guess if lg releases ics sometime with new ti drivers for the ti omap 3630 then it may be able to play the other videos you uploaded.. don't know for sure though. Please don't flame me..

well, i guess we will have to wait for ics in q3 this year and see if it brings any improvements to codec support

What is Media acceleration?

So I'm not really new here. I flashed a lot of roms and etc. I see there at ICS for optimus 2X is no gpu hardware acceleration and no media encoding and decoding. So no gpu hardware acceleration it means that my gpu is not working just the cpu? In games just the cpu will work and the gpu no?

Afaik Its working in games. Not working while video recording/playback. Not working in android api.

Ok thank you!! Really helped me!

Its a driver from nividia
Its for games and for android itself.
Because nividia made the driver for gingerbread, it can not work properly on an ics rom.
It's nividia who must update the driver source. Thats why the ics roms are not working how it must work.

That's not entirely true. 3D accelleration is working perfectly fine in ICS with the drivers provided by LG.
The 2D drawing accelleration which got introduced in Android 3.0 is the problem in ICS - but that doesn't affect games.
And of course the GPU is working, without it you would have a black screen

which rom do you recommend

I would like a rom with hdmi rotation and video acceleration working. To use it as a small console.

Temasek 2.3.7 is a great rom for gaming but dont know about the hdmi :> its gingerbread so it maybe work
