[Q] ICS with Hardware Acceleration

Does Owain's UNOFFICIAL BUILD RC0-46
version have HW acceleration ?
Can anyone let me know ...
I have installed many roms ... tested and tried all..
mostly...
- Camera does not work
- Video recording does not work
- and video playback does not work..
When will anyone develop ICS with HW acceleration for LG optimus 2x ?
Please update me ...
as I cant understand the Changelog which never really mentions anything about HW acceleration ... except the NOVA HD' ROMs.

Nvidia and LG will have to release the codes for this....HW acceleration is not available on our devices....it is not part of any development....so you, me will have to wait for Nvidia and LG.
GB is a different story.you can use it till the ICS is officially released(hopefully)....
keeping the fingers crossed....

Newer ICS roms support both video recording and camera, you can also play videos with MX player's software encoder. Not as good as it would be with hw acc, but I havent had much problems with them.
So I'd try Nova hd Rc41 with v6 supercharger, if I was you.

[Q] who tried mx video player on CM9 rom?

mx video player could use hw decoder on other ICS rom but CM9 rom.
Who experienced the same problem?

Using a Slim ICS based rom. Some vids h/w is available, some videos not

I'm having a similar problem too. Can someone pls tell me how to flash a "Kernel", as well as a download link for the 720p patch?

IMO the problem is MX player, hardware works great on every single format in VLC for me and playing 720p no longer lags, which it did with MX. I'm on CM10.1 but was the same on previous versions.

Ok thats something to hear, but I tried Moboplayer and dice player and they all have the same results. Are you sure that vlc will handle it? Also what about 1080p? My gtp1000 can handle it on gingerbread. . .

Why would you want to play back 1080p on an i9000?
Anyway i don't know, but I could test it later when I'm home if it's important.

Just tried 1080p on vlc on the p1000, no joy whatsoever. I read from another topic that I have to use another kernel, here's the website:

Yeah I just realized you're posting from a Galaxy Tab, and while we have much the same hardware you should take your question to the appropriate section...
When my phone was new, the Samsung stock player was perfectly able to play anything I threw at it, you don't seem to know much about flashing so I assume you're on a stock ROM, in which case you have the stock player. Use that?
Also, for viewing on your Tab anything more than 720p is completely useless.

Mass effect laggy on O2x

Just tried mass effect infiltrator on my optimus 2x and what can say - its lagging quite a lot, fps are always around 20-23. Im currently on gueste 1.2 rom and 1.8.1 kernel. Tried increase oc to 1.45ghz added swap memory, nothing really helped.
Btw my girlfriedns sgs1 runs this game perfectly smooth.
Is it my phone configuration or do you have the same experience like me?

Same for me before a reboot! After my phone is up, Mass Effect is smoooooooth.

Update:
Today flashed django 1.2, 1.3 rc2 and nova hd roms. All lagged more or less the same. Currently staying on django 1.3 rc2 + 1.8.1 gueste kernel.

Works fine for me, with WIUI 2.5.25 + Temasek's Build Kernel 02/06, but the game realy drain my batery.

thats a very demanding game both in graphics and processing, so its normal to drain battery very fast, i just dont understand why it lags for some people, i play it on my phone with cm7 and srock roms at 800 mhz smooth as butter

I tried with NovaHD rom, and force close after the chinense text.

Nope, hw acc is for video decoding, game works perfectly on Nova rebuild 1.3. Our friend has pirated mass effect thats why its fc'ing.

played mass effect on django's rc2, cpu at max 1 ghz and 2nd core off, still wont lag

Is this possible in cyanogenmod7?

Yes. You'll get a complete mirror of your phone screen on your TV. I've been using CM 7.2 and HDMI works fine.

I've been using cyanogenmod9 ICS and HDMI works as well but keep in mind that videos will only play in software mode on mx player for example. Netflix and related software doesn't work. (I know you asked about cm 7 but I like to share my experiences. Hope it had any value.

Game is working awesome but I felt some problem with sensors. I want to increase the sensitivity. Is there any method to increase it

I guess you should yourself tweak it..or you should get an hacked version of it..

Is there a way to increase sensitivity of a Rom for example using build. Prop. Or any other method. I am on cm10.1

Let me explain you my problem. The sensors are working fine but their speed of response is less than that of compared to the game's speed. For example when there is one sided wall broken or the track is broken from one side. We have to tilt the mobile to tilt the cart. But when I tilt it. The cart also tilt but too late when the man has already fallen

YUp i hv also seen that type of problems...try to overclock,,bcoz aftr ovrclocking it is working fine on my SGM..

Use cm7 pure with cyanmobile kernel or My Simply_STOCK rom... OC to 729mhz max and 320mhz min, smartassV2, sio and use Seeder for lag reduction...

dude try n flash any custom rom, y u on stock wen it lags like hell?? also u can use seeder to reduce lag. Temple run2 runs on cyanogenmod official smoothly the only prob is that the sensitvity is too low.
u can also flash cm10.1 by rohan smoothest cm10.1 rom

works good
