Any comprehensive icon set that looks like this...? - Android Themes

I'm basically looking for transparent/ glassy looking icons. Someone on another forum linked me to the following site:
http://icons.mysitemyway.com/category/3d-transparent-glass-icons/
Stylistically, that's pretty much exactly what I'd like them to look like. The problem is, those are mostly generic icons, rather than ones made specifically for apps. Does anyone possibly know of a comprehensive icon set that looks like this, for Android apps?

Glasklart is the closest I know of.

That's what I'm using now, yeah, but I want something without a border, where the icons, themselves, are transparent and glassy-looking.

Hm. Well, I don't have Photoshop, I use GIMP, so I don't know how (or if I even can) make that work. There is a GIMP .pat file in the zip of the download, but GIMP won't recognize, it for whatever reason; it keeps giving me an error when I try to access it.

Ah. Just tried that, but not really sure what to do from there... When I go in GIMP, click File>Open, and choose the psd file, it's just a few layers (with "etc" in large text), covered up by a large black rectangle.

then probably you'll need photoshop for full support. sorry

Kireols clock pack - set 1 for HHC/HTC Home 11/17/2007

I wanted to make some new clock faces for HTC Home. These work with the HTC Home Customizer ( http://www.pocketemu.com/hhc-info.html ) but I imagine you could install them without that by hand, i dont know why you'd want to though.
There's quite a few hours of work here to get these just right. Comments will be appreciated.
There are 10 in this first pack. I plan on making a few more packs.
Most of these are black fonts with beveling to make them look nice.
EDIT: Removed max compression on zip for those that dont have bz2. zip now has normal compression
EDIT2: rar version here: http://rapidshare.com/files/70732473/Kireols_HHC_Clocks_pack_1.rar.html
screens 6-10
I'm having trouble opening the zip file (Vista).... is it just me?
i had compression turned on max by default on my zip. that might affect you. zip fixed in top post
I'm using XP. Something is jacked up with your zip file. I get this error with all files when using WinRAR to try to unzip it.
! C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.RETESTRAK\My Documents\KireolsClocks.zip: Unknown method in screenshot6.gif
EDIT: It's working ok now.
Thanks for the efforts
If you need a Star Trek font or a Flintstone font, I can look to see what I still have.
I like LCD-type fonts and solid fonts with drop shadows. Are these paks hard to make? I'd like to try my hand at them.
Have you tried to do weather images? What does it take to make those?

They arent hard but are time consuming! for each font you have to find a good font, load up an image program and edit each individual number and symbol and make sure they are positioned correctly, the load to phone and test. I'd say each font is roughly 30 minutes to 1 hour for me. I havent tried anything but clocks yet. However I may in the future as everything is just an image file.
These are very nice, I like the claw and the German black the best, the only trouble is I cant use them because I have my tilt completely blacked out. But if you ever decided to change them to say...........red, then we would be in business. Thanks they look great!
good job they look nice i'll be adding one of them shortly.
Nice work! Not exactly my cup of tea, but I applaud you!
is it just me, or is there no zero in the claw group? the zero image looks the same as the one. sorry if someone has already mentioned this.
edit: also seems that the eight looks like a zero
kireol claw missing characters

I noticed the same thing here. I'm actually quite surprised that this has been out so long and only had one comment about the missing / malformed characters in this font. The claw happens to be my favorite of this group, but I can't use it if it doesn't display the right characters. I went sifting through the files to see if something was just mixed around and was disheartened to see that there was nothing I could fix from this end. Kireol: please distribute a new version of the claw font with all characters.
There was also a mention of different colors - yeah, count me in for that one too.

Has anyone reskinned the message pages?

Sms skingbackgr changer
It thosent work, dont change the splahs and dont change sms backgrond
my files are .gif, just save them as whatever file type you need ex. .jpg, .jpeg, etc..., and name it to replace the image on your phone.
They work for all resolutions.
Anyone have any idea why, when I make a CAB for this using QuickCab, it never includes the image in the CAB?

+1 I am using Astronaut's skin. If you don't like the looks- you can just install one of the .cabs and use your own images (make sure you replace .png with .png and .jpeg with .jpeg)

Sorry for being rude, but what is it you don't understand?
In every single post I made in this thread I've wanted to know where it is located, which apk or whatever file.
I know how to change it the usual way.

thankyou! worked perfect, pulled files and pushed back new!
Could you tell me how you did that? With adb?
And what is the perfect size for images?
Thx
320x455 is the size of the images.
use
adb remount
adb push c:/htc_wallpaper_01_lockscreen.jpg /system/etc/lockscreen/port/
if you want the original images use
adb pull /system/etc/lockscreen/port/ c:/
And htc_wallpaper_01_lockscreen.jpg is the Screen i want to use, right?
Thx a lot
Yep that is the one.
EDIT: There are many backgrounds, looks like they intended for an album but never implemented it.

a few framework-res/theming questions

I've just started to try my hand at making themes, and I've watched the tutorials on using metamorph and such, but I've run into a few problems.
first, while looking through my framework.apk (via root explorer if that matters) I found that there are two res folders inside it. both named res, but from supposedly different dates (apr 15 and aug 31) within each res folder are the usual folders (I assume) plus two more "doubled" folders called drawable-hdpi. Is this normal? to summarize what I mean, I have folder structures like this within framework.apk
framework.apk/res(dated apr15)/drawable-hdpi(dated apr15)
framework.apk/res(dated apr15)/drawable-hdpi(dated apr31)
framework.apk/res(dated apr31)/drawable-hdpi(dated apr15)
framework.apk/res(dated apr31)/drawable-hdpi(dated apr31)
Finally, I'm hoping for my first theme to change the look of the slide tabs on the lock screen. Where are the images located? I've been looking through the files and have no idea where they are or what they're titled
Thank you in advance for any help, and if things need clarifying, let me know, I'm sure I didn't explain myself all that well.
I wouldn't say that's normal, but that's just from me never having seen it before.
As for the sliding bar images, they are the framework-res/res/drawable-hdpi/jog_tab images
The lock and mute/vibrate images are the ic_jog_dial images in the same folder.

Just so I'm sure on making themes, the images I make to replace them need to be named the same as the images they're replacing correct? This may seem kind of obvious, but I'd rather be sure.

Yes, and you may want to take a look into editing .9.png's (although it seems all of the guides went obsolete once the newest version of apktool was released).

I remember reading something about .9.png's but what are they? I'm assuming I can find the guides somewhere here on xda? even if they're out of date, they're sure to be some help.
Also, thanks again for all your help, I truly appreciate it

Transparent Folder Icon?

I know how to make regular icons transparent b/c I've already done that, but I can't seem to get the Folder one to work. I tried w/ Desktop Visualizer, but I haven't been able to use it to make a folder to put mulitple stuff in unless I'm just missing it. Can somebody help please?
Check out the app Folder Organizer. You can use custom icons for them along with a whole slew of other things. Great app. Check out my post alittle further down entitled Justice League icons to see how I used it.
Thanks man. I have that app on my SD card actually, but never got around to installing it, lol. I'll check it out now.
Is their any way to change the font on the folders? I mean to make the background of the font clear?
