That's pretty I might do that to my SGSII... then who will be the jealous one?

They actually just released a white version of the Optimus 3D not too long ago http://youtu.be/_Q7bpQjpq74
Edit: here is some more information on it http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_3d_now_available_in_white_from_phones_4u_in_the_uk-news-3055.php

I've seen that. And I started out just doing my battery cover as well.. but I like all the white on the front and around the bezel too
And so I have spoken it.. and so it shall be.

That looks awesome. Great job. How hard was it to disassemble the phone and put it back together? I am thinking of doing this but painting it blue or green instead of white.

Taking it apart and putting it back together is really easy. Just find a video on YouTube to be safe.
And so I have spoken it.. and so it shall be.

I just saw the video posted above but I agree that it looks way better with white on the front, good stuff. I used to take my iPhone apart all the time to fix or replace broken parts before I got this phone. Just watched videos on YouTube like you said and its a piece of cake

What type of paint spray did you use?
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA

Fast dry interior / exterior all surface paint
And so I have spoken it.. and so it shall be.

Did you ha e to sand it down or just painted. Over it?
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA

I took it completely apart and sanded it with 200 grit... then I sprayed on grey primer and sanded it down so it was all smooth and applied two coats of white. And one coat of clear.
Edges are hard. So before I peeled off the tape I too a precision hobby knife and cut around the edges so that the would be straight and smooth when I peeled of the tape.
And so I have spoken it.. and so it shall be.

HD2 backcover --> polished

Hey folks...
I own my HD2 for about 1 year now. Unfortunately (or not), I bought only a few months ago a silicone case and this is why my backcover was really damaged.
Deep scratches, the clear lacquer sayd goodbye at some spots and so on. I think u know
So i decided to do something against it
On the pictures below you can see the result...
I hope you like

You need..
~ 3 different kinds of abrasive paper with something about 280, 350, 400 granulation.
polishing paste
toothpaste (xtra white) xD
and an old t-shirt or something like that.. (for polishing)
____________________________________________________________
Take the roughest abrasive paper first and remove the paint.
This could be little tricky cause the backcover has this "brushed" look, so you have to remove all this little "brushed look" lines.
After the paint is gone take the next paper (take little water and wet it) and grind it always in the same direction. (no circle moves, this would ruin it)
Now take the finest paper and again take a little water to make it extra fine and grind it too.
Now the backcover should be free of any painting and the surface should be smooth...
To make it high shiny take the polishing paste and a part of ure old shirt or whatever and start polishing xD
This can take a little while cause the backcover is made of "stainless steel"
Finnish it with some toothpaste the same way you did with the polishing paste.
After cleaning it unter hot water with a little liquid soap dry it and look at your wonderfull shiny backcover
greets
Ray
I think its made of aluminium not stainless steel, but otherwise its awesome looking! i remember someone else doing that on here too

The problem is, an original HTC backcover costs about 25$ (20€)... to much to have lets say 5 or 10 in stock And i dont want to buy this stuff from "hong kong" its about 12$ but you dont know what you get ..
off topic: check this out guys, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905670 best looking hd2...
I polished mine to a mirrored finish and it shows every hand print and it scratches very easily, but it hasn't tarnished in the 4-5 months since I polished it.
I polished it by first using a belt sander with medium grit (220) and sanding against the grain of the textured lines on the back. Then I used a buffing wheel with some emery buffing compound to get rid of the sanding marks. After that I switched to a yellow buffing compound gave it a final polish.
I thought the polished back was too smooth so I decided to give it a little texture by using a plastic stencil, some spray adhesive, masking tape, and a $10 flea market sandblaster with about 80psi with silica sand.

That would look great if the background were a matte black.
looks ok but i like it stock

I like that idea, but I tried some different paints prior to the sandblasting and nothing seem to hold very well. I don't know what the metal is but I tried bluing it and it didn't change a bit. I even tried a translucent paint dip that I thought I could clear coat but it was flaking off just from handling it before I could even start clear coating.
If I were going to try it again I think I would try an aluminum paint primer then paint it before sandblasting the stencil.
That toothpaste idea worked great for taking out the fine scratches that were on it.

HTC Desire HD Silverback™

Hola!
I got bored today and decided that i was really tired of the fugly brown-ish color on my Desire HD, so i removed it and voila! I haven't polished it, but i think the industrial look looks good! And yes i know the back now looks like the first iPhone
Thanks to Mynthix for the idea!
So, I present to you, the HTC Desire HD Silverback™!

Very nice,
I am envious of your guys with your full metal back. My HD2 and Sensation have to much plastic still
Oh, you mean the Apple logo? Yes, i plan on doing that. (not!)
Btw, i did break one thing...i think.. When i removed the part with the LEDs i managed to break one of the GPS connectors (if that was it), but i haven't tested the GPS yet so i don't know. But i never use the GPS so it's not that big of a deal really
Looks really nice man!
I still want to do it when i have some spare time, probably next week.
But how did you protect the plastic arround the LED's? Tape it off? Or did you leave all the plastic parts on the device and sanded arround it?
Looks nice I also like unpolished (Did on m Desire Z back ) Shame SGS2 has a plastic one

The GPS antenna is behind the LED cover so when i removed it i saw that one of the gold connectors was bent, so i was trying to bend it back and then a piece of it snapped

Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Aha! You have to remove the battery cover and the battery, then you'll need to use a long thin thing and press a clip and then the cover will lift itself up a little, and then you use another thin "thing" and "unhook" the other clips.
There are some videos on YouTube that shows you how to do it, but be VERY careful so you don't break it.

Clarivue HD glass screen protector review

Just got mine last night. Was not sure about spending $30 on a screen protector. Glad I did, glass seems like it could stop a bullet.
Easy application that fits the screen perfectly. Only had two small air bubles which went away overnight.
Amazing how good it keeps fingerprints and smears off the glass.
Most wont spend the money but im glad I did

1. is it totally clear, or does it have color frame.
2. can the screen protector stick all over (no air space underneath the edge and the button)?
3. coverage (it's OK if it has couple of millimeters of space from the sides).
I talked with the folks at clarivue by live chat and they told me that is not colored border.
It's totally clear. You can get a perfect fit if you don't get dust trapped underneath. Mine isn't 100% perfect, but it is sitting well on edges. Coverage hada few millimeters from the edge.

don't take it to the beach!

Well, if you do, be prepared to spend half an hour using the edge of a piece of paper to remove all of the sand from between the screen and silver edge of the phone.
Can't you just simply watch it as it is water resistant ?

Well, I literally sucked some of the sand out with my mouth, so there's that. A lot of it was still stuck under the edge of the screen, but I eventually got it all out with the edge of a sheet of paper. I might try a vacuum next time.
yeahhhh ive got the same problem.. its such a hassle especially if the grain of sand is the same exact dimensions as the gap its as if it was wedged in there permanently!!
sometimes the grain of sand thats stuck it there cuts my cheek when i answer the phone lol
i would suggest a toothpick or a sewing needle.. worked for 99.9% of mine!

I was too scared to try anything pointy. If the toothpick/needle didn't get the last grains out, try computer paper, notebook paper, and then try each of them folder over one time (to create a sort of "scooper" that will fit in the groove). This got me completely sand free.

It is cut out, but out of the same piece, and the whole back is removed at once from the paper backing, with masking tape keeping the designs lined up.
...that doesn't seem impossible, but it will take some extra detail work to get it aligned properly, and more materials.
that could be interesting. i will definitely keep it in mind. I have a plain black carbon from another company right now and am getting bored with it. I might hit you up in a week or two.

Cool man. If I get around to it, I might do a test run, and I'll post pictures if I do!
Anonymous mask?
I was thinking this cut-out would look cool. Not sure on what sort of texture it would look best though!?
I just googled around, can't post links annoyingly, but if you go to qvectors DOT net SLASH vendeta-mask-vector there is a vector example.
I am thinking of trying to get some splash screens, boot animations and backgrounds too, would go well on a completely stripped down ROM with XPrivacy and AFWall+ installed.
That would look cool. Unless you have a clear back case, I'd probably do it negative. The white parts would be in red, with a thin border around it for the outline. That way there wouldn't be lots of small pieces to get lifted off by routine handling..
Can you like make just like faces symbol? Like just iron man face or transformers face only.? It's cuz I like the silver/metallic.
