[Q] NC discharges quickly while on standby CM7/Stock1.01...

Hey guys,
I'm experiencing rapid battery discharge while Nook Color is in standby mode, battery life used to be great while on standby but after using CM7 on sdcard it's nearly discharges like when it's fully working...
Any ideas?

sounds like your battery maybe on its death throws.. or perhaps you have too many background processes suckin up juice.. we need more info to be helpful

Reboot without card in and check stock performance. They shouldn't affect each other. Plus CM should have better battery life very soon.

Are you running the performance governor? this would keep your CPU at max ALL the time. if you are try switching to Interactive.

Does anybody know how the batter performance in standby mode for CM7.0.2 compares with stock?
Could you tell me when when the CM7 battery tweaks are coming?
Also, could somebody tell me how to maximize battery time when using Nook?

I was on cm7 but the battery drain was an issue for me. There is no fix currently but the awesome folks at the cm7 team are supposedly going to iron this out soon. Stock should last at least twice as long on standby.
If you use the nook mostly at home I would lower the display brightness all the way down, and completely shutdown at night.

Assuming not overclocked, in use CM7 is very similar to the stock ROM because the screen and backlight are taking most of the power.
In standby the stock ROM is around .2%/hr with wifi off. CM7 is around 1%/hr with wifi off.

I have CM7 nightly build 55 on my Nook and the battery life is amazing.
Besides the feedback others suggested, check to see if you have things actively running in the background. Is the setting to keep Wifi on in standby turned on? That could do it. Do you have some funky mail client on their set to check every 5 minutes or something?
I think the best suggestion was the one previously about taking the SD card out and run it as stock to see how the battery life compares. If it is fine with stock, then you know something goofy is going on with your CM7 install and I would just start over on that with the newest nightly, etc.

My batt stats say Phone idle and Cell Standby are 22% and 17 % over a 12 hr period. So those are what are killing me and the NC isn't even a phone.

Battery performance even on overclocked nootered 1.2 Nook Color is great. I am getting drain of less than 0.2% compare to closer to 2% on cm7.
This is due to cm7 not having full sleep.

I just mod my rom to CM9 Nova HD RC9-18, find out my battery life is draining. After full charge and use for 1hr, 50% is gone(scary). Any one can share you experience here. Live wallpaper is turn off and other as per default.
Under the battery status, stated 50m on battery for 100% charged battery.

Maybe u flashed this ROM with no 100% batterie! With FullWipe, u also wipe the batterie stats!

You have to consume the whole battery and subsequently recharge up to 100%, then you go in cwm recovery and do the battery wipe
normally you have to wait 4-5 complete charge to chek battery life

This app have a very bad reputation on the market !anyone tested it ?

I'm 100% positive you have a mismatch Baseband & RIL.
find "GetRIL" app from Playstore.
the app will do the rest for you.
CM9 have 216 RIL as default.
it will drain battery if you use other than 216 Baseband.
GetRIL will help find the matching RIL for your phone baseband.

Battery drains very fast (~6-7 hours)

Hi! I have a Galaxy Mini and every time when I flash a new ROM my battery drains very quickly. First cycle of the battery it's ok, can resist at most 1.5 - 2.5 days, but after first cycle of the battery, my battery run wild, even if I calibrate with Battery Calibration or I charge many times. Anyway, in Battery Calibration there's a weird bug (3-4 mV on app showing). What can I do? It's very annoying, guys

If 4,2V in 100% then ok. But if not calibrate battery. Try to reduce cpu, brightness etc.

Hi! I solved somehow the problem. The battery was so "hot" and I removed battery from smartphone for about 30 minutes. When my battery drained out so fast, it was laggy the software. After re-introduced back in phone, battery temperature was ok and the lag dissapeared. Now I'm very happy. I attached a screenshot.

Battery calibrates the precentage of voltage... it dont give more battery it just show correct precentage

i have same problem with my mini ..

use light theme, with mostly white colors... on galaxy mini screen when it shows white, it means there's no color rendered by display, so you only see backlight. on amoled screens (with self-luminated pixels) its vice-versa don't use pretty-glitty live wallpapers, they consume battery quicker. kill apps instead of keeping them opened in background. don't overclock cpu too much.

battery calibration should be done 3-4 times a year only !

[Q] CM9 Battery Drain

Hi! I have a problem with CM9. My battery is draining very fast!
When i went to bed phone had 88% remaining.
When i woke up it had only 42%.
Is ti normal?

That is not normal. download better battery stats and check to see if an app is preventing the phone from sleeping, or causing wakelocks.
Also make sure that your cpu is not sticking. I noticed that once and a while my cpu would stick on 1300mhz while using lulzactive or smartassv2. Check that in settings > performance > Processor.
Also, just so you know, the whole wiping battery stats has always been a myth and always will be. It doesn't work.

i also had this problem and my battery used to drain after day and a half of normal use. it may be because your battery is not fully charged. i mean when installing a new rom if your battery is not charged fully new rom may not recognize your battery level correctly. so try to completely drain battery and then charge it to full. and even let it be charged some more because the indicator may be wrong. this worked for me.

Android system and android os both use 20% of battery which is the greatest.
And where i can download battery stats and how do i install them?

my android system used alot some how but not android os. this may be because of an application. you can find this app on google play or just google it and download it from mobile. and if you cant access below simply copy to phone via computer and install.

In different threads some guys said "flash different modem"
And it worked with others so should i try it too?

Modem only affects cellular signal, so unless all your battery drain is coming from cell standby, it probably won't fix it.

i'v tryed several roms, most of them show that higher power consumption is by screen, but the thing is that i do not use my phone during the work day, but still battery drain. any ideas why?
Donno if it's important but i tryed different cm9 roms and battery drain was different to.

Hello . I just bought new battery (Onite 2750mAh) and also changed whole system with cm 10.2 + NX krnel . Now I have huge problems with battery life. it drains very, very fast. like 2-3 % in 10 mins even when I`m not using phone at all. Also yesterday it went 45%- 0 over night when I was sleeping . Help pls

Power off the phone.. remove the battery... Wait for 20 seconds.. reseat the battery and power on and monitor... You can also check the apps draining the battery using Wakelock Detector app or BetteryBatteryStats.

Are you using 10.2 or 10.1 the reason I ask is because you say you are using 10.1 +nd kernel. The problem is that nx kernel is for 10.1 not 10.2 if you are on 10.2 then use raw v3 for great battery life.

A screenshot of your battery stats sometimes help.

Give us Your battery history screenshot, and also You might want to use such programs as wakelock detector and cpu spy. It would be useful.

CM 10.2 tends to give inaccurate battery readings on my device for some reasons. But battery performance is very good on PAC rom though, so you might want to try out the rom, its a good room with many customization options
