Did I Brick? - Motorola Droid Bionic

I'm trying to bring this disaster of a phone back to stock and I seem to have bricked it?
I was trying to flash the stock 902 files via RSD Lite and it failed on grfs. I reboot the phone and it immediately loads into Fastboot.
(Boot Failure)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: webtop); Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: webtop, status; 0X004E)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: webtop)
What do I do? When I plug it into the computer it makes the USB noise as if something is connected but RSD Lite cannot recognize it. Phone keeps saying "Connect USB" in Fastboot mode too. Help!

try another PC

Well it was working fine until the bad flash.

Yes, you will need to use a new pc. The pc your currently using does not have the power needed to flash the webtop to your phone. You need a pc with atleast 4g of ram.

My current PC has more than enough processing and RAM power.
My issue is that it was fine and now doesn't even recognize the phone anymore when I plug it in. Although it does make the USB noise when plugging it.

So weird, my work laptop which is significantly slower than my home PC can recognize the Bionic through RSD Lite. I'm guessing I'll be okay once I can flash some stock FXZ files?
I have low battery unfortunately so I'll have to use an external charger to get the juice up right? Or will it charge if I have it plugged into a charger in Fastboot?

Yes, use an external charger. Phone will not charge in AP fastboot menu.

Seems like I'm getting some sort of charge while in AP Fastboot though. It was telling me Battery Low but after plugging it in for a bit and unplugging it now says Battery OK.

try a different cable i use b.b. cables they have always worked great for me

Whew! Got this fixed. Charged up the battery in an external charger. Flashed .902 files via RSD Lite. Phone is up and running again. Now I can finally return it to Verizon!
Thanks for the help!

Fast/Easy unbrick - Droid 3 (XT862)

Okay guys, I've learned from my mistakes of mixing bootstrap files, but I'm here to help you unbrick your Droid 3 (XT862) The following is a list to unbrick, the process should take about 5 minutes (not including the download or boot time)
1.[Originally from RootzWiki] Updated Link! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/61707107/Verizon%20Droid%203%205.6.890%20OTA/Flash%2BVerizon%2BDROID%2B3%2BOTA%2B5.6.890%2Bto%2Bphone_psouza4.zip
2. Download the ~450mb file.
3. If you have a spare battery, or the current battery, make sure it's charged above 50% (quick unbrick wont run if it's below 50%) You can use a spare USB cable and strip the red and black wires, then place the red on the + contact of the battery, black on the - contact. Dont charge it via this method for longer than a couple hours, and unplug if the battery starts to get hot. (Lithium-Ion explodes when overheated too much)
4. When the download is complete, extract the RAR file (WinZip), and when the phone is off, press m+power and scroll down to AP Fastboot.
5. Plug the phone into a USB 2.0 or older USB jack on your computer (some users finding USB 3.0 problems), make sure you get the USB connected message on the phone.
6. Run the "Click Here - Flash Verizon" file, make sure you get "OKAY" for each message that pops up on the CMD prompt.
7. Let your phone restore and boot.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me or reply to this post.
***Sorry for the re-post, but I don't want rants on iphones and ps3 controllers on a potential sticky thread
+1 for sticky. Used this on my 1st brick and it's very easy and very fast!
Thanx for the instructions, have yet to use SBF luckily Hashcodes Safestrap saved my bacon a few times now tho.

Have you done everything in the directions? Make sure you're in AP fastboot, connected to usb, and have a 50% or higher battery charge. Are you getting error codes?

I used to use a standard micro usb, and now I have to use the motorola supplied one. You can charge your battery via the stripped USB cable method, just be careful, and this may sound redundant, but make sure youre using a Droid 3 (XT862) Also see if you can boot into recovery somehow, (m+power method, or x+power method) and remove all of the files that you can (possibility that you're exceeding the system partitions). Keep me updated, I'll try to help as much as I can.

ok yes the phone is xt862, and i think the problem could be the usb. do you know where i can get the motorola supplied one because i dont have the stock one. and i can get into recovery, i wiped data and cache paritions. thats about all i can do. and as for the battery i have a friend with a universal battery charger so thats not a problem.

Motorolas website, ebay, amazon. Try those, and try plugging your usb into the back of your pc (where the motherboard has its outputs) because those support data transfer a lot better than the front ones.. maybe look around for a Motorola ADB driver or some sort, because I distinctly remember on my windows 7 computer, a message popped up saying Motorola ADB driver installed or something like that, right after I plugged the usb cord in after I started AP fastboot.

Go on motorolas website, there should be software drivers, or you could google it. I'm afraid you're in territory I haven't dealt with before. The only advice that I can give is to redownload or download drivers, try redownloading the file for the unbrick, use WINZIP as your application to unzip the rar file, and just keep trying. I'm sorry man.

do you think it could be the Usb cable . when you tried it with a regular cable did it work for you ?
LOVE THIS! I was boot looping endlessly after multiple failed SBF's and this fixed it. Thank you.

My regular USB cable only works for charging now as of the 5.6.890 update for some reason. I have to use the motorola supplied one..
So I borked my phone earlier today and tried to use this method to get back to stock, but this doesn't seem to be working for me. It flashes everything just fine but when the phone reboots I get taken to the fastboot screen with more errors on it. I'm at a loss now...help!

Try going into recovery, and do a factory data reset, and clear your cache. Then try.the flash again, and disconnect your usb cable after you finish the flash. If it does it again, pull the battery and keep trying. Make sure you're using an xt862..

Invalid CG OTV (CG: system) Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: system, status: 0X0035)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)

Looks like its having issues writing things to your partitions (not positive though) try redownloading the entire 450mb file off of the site posted.
*Edit - Use WinZip if you can - I used that

Alright, I'll try that. And as far as the battery is concerned, will the phone still charge from that screen so long as it's plugged into a wall outlet?

Bootloader "code corrupt" eroor

I try to get in bootloader but that message show:
i cant power on the phone or open recovery
BOOTLOADER
90.78
CODE CORRUPT
BATTERY OK
OK TO PROGRAM
CONNET USB
DATA CABLE
Try connecting a USB cable to a PC and flashing an SBF file...
im writing in the name of MotoMileCm7
i cant use RSD at all, the phone just not loaded into the software, like it`s not connected to the PC
and i cant get to the OR, it directs me straight to the flash screen
help pls
Does the phone still say "CONNECT USB DATA CABLE" even when a cable is connected? If so, try another cable/USB port/PC.
If you've tried at least 2 cables, 2 PCs, and more than 1 USB port on each PC, then you might want to contact your provider for warranty options. They'd never know you rooted/flashed it in this state, as the code on the device is corrupted and sending you straight to the bootloader.
I had the same issue .....i had to send it for repairs

Need Help - Dead Moto G2 with bootloop and 0% battery

My Moto g2 was on stock rom with no root. A friend tried to root it with king root and some other things without asking me . My phone ran out of charge and then when i tried to switch it on it went straight to ap-fastboot menu. Now, when i connect charger it shows charging screen at 0% and then goes to fastboot after some time. With some things written.
It says at the end :
1. Hab check failed for boot. 2. Failed to verify hab image boot. 3. Failed to validate boot image 4. Fastboot reason : fall through from mot charger boot mode.
Also it says battery low Device is LOCKED Status code: 0 and connect USB data cable even when connected.
Also i can't install usb drivers as my pc doesn't detect it once did but the Dialog box of "installing drivers" vanished midway.
So my phone won't charge or connect to pc so i can't use some adb and fastboot tool method for charging i found searching on the internet. And also it keep going from fast boot to charging screen and back Been searching all day but have become confused now.
So if someone can help in flashing my stock firmware bypassing all these problems. I'll be thankful.

can't flash TWRP recovery via fastboot

Hi ! I have just downgraded to PIE via NewFlasher and I'm running Stock pie.
My bootloader is unlocked.
I enter fastboot via Volume up key + connect USB
fastboot devices shows
BH9035KS9E fastboot
then I try to run
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-lilac-pie-5.img
but it fails every time, with different messages, for instance
Sending 'recovery' (34548 KB) FAILED (Write to device failed (No such device))
fastboot: error: Command failed
I noticed that the blue led turns off immediately after I try to execute the fastboot flash
I've tried rebooting and several different cables.
I also tried with the linux and win10 version of fastboot, but no luck so far.
I also tried to boot via
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-0-lilac-pie-5.img
but the error message is the same
I also tried several versions of twrp ... and I don't know what else to try !
Any ideas ? thx !
Did you other cables?
Did you try other usb ports?
Did try usb 2.0? usb 3.0?
It works for me after any error.
Try another pc too.
If you face the same issue, it is a problem with the device.
