Saw this on droidforums and figured I could post here. It's just listed as an "upgrade" but not necessarily ICS. There was another list the confirmed ICS for other devices, but this list doesn't specify ICS as the upgrade. In fact, it just stated "Software Upgrade", not OS upgrade.

Even if its not ics as long as its a big update all tho I will like it to be ics but I hope its a new os it will be cool if it was

Unfortunately, I believe the update they are talking about is 5.7.906. If they ENDED testing on March 14th, and 5.7.906 hasn't been released yet, I would be willing to bet that it is not ICS.
Its gotta be the 5.7.906 update or similar since the zip file for 906 is 224.85 MB which would round up to 225MB. Plus I highly doubt we'll get ICS before the Razr or the bionic.
I second that. I don't think Motorola would ever come up with an ICS update for D3 as pretty soon D3 will be celebrating its 1st birthday. D3 was also not a money spinner for Verizon like the earlier versions. So, the most we'll be getting are the custom ones. Sorry if i sound pessimistic but its my opinion.

https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c still lists the milestone 3/xt860 and droid 3 as "evaluation & planning" for ics updates, been that way since they announced their plans to update other devices.
D2/M2 just saw GB update after 14~15months from release

We've got reports coming in that users with some Milestones, Vibrants and Fascinates running Android version 2.1-update 1 are seeing a silent update to the Android Market (version 2007 -- an update from version 1714), and it brings some of the features (including the widget) from Froyo along with. On the other hand, we've got a Fascinate in our hands that doesn't have any of those changes in its Market. After some digging around we're pretty sure that something's going on, so we're enlisting you guys to help get to the bottom of it. Head into the forums and let's compare, shall we? [Android Central Forums] Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Seems like it just updates the market to Froyo standards - not exactly a big difference.

Your best bet is to just install a Froyo rom.

Thank you for now i need just to wait there is not 2.2 for XT720 tell now
I'm looking for a daily driver with working cdma for pageplus/verizon with good battery life. I'm on 10.1/ics now and battery life is bad.
I can't use a GB rom because it won't run Crime City!
I don't really want to keep switching slots between stock and slot 1.
Any suggestions on roms available, a lot of the links for the roms don't work anymore.
Any help would be appreciated!!
tried steel droid 5.6?
Sent from my XT862 using Tapatalk
It's nice but its GB, it won't run the game i bought the phone to play. My atrix is running Notach 2.3.6 and that'll run it so i'm going to try a 2.3.6, I wish i could port cuz thats a pretty slick rom. It looks like moto was right about putting ics on these phones as its just too much for them and kills batteries!
The older kexec builds are about all that's left besides SD (I think it was ICS actually) or a real old CM9 build if you can find one.
steel droid 5.6 is ics, 5.0 is gb

Lol lock down in 4,3,2,1...........

My source says 4.4.3 is vaporware and we're actually getting 4.4.3.1 instead and it comes with the ability to turn your toaster on
My source at Google told me that they decided to include more features than a normal point release in 4.4.3 and release it at I/O, giving them more time to work on the next major release, which they should have ready in the fall.
4.4.3.2.1...... Locked

If this doesn't come on May 23rd I'm holding you personally responsible for creating another rumor thread sir. -_-

Lock it before it spreads...
We've tried the 4.4.3 thread a few times already and they did not work due to large amounts of off-topic posts and general bickering. I know we're all excited for the next release (I am too) but these threads typically go bad fast.
When the next OTA, Factory Image, or code drop actually happens, we will allow a 4.4.x thread. Until then, threads like these will be closed.
Thanks for understanding.

Just received a notification for "Motorola Sensor Service Firmware" upgrade. Does anyone have any idea what it is?
I am still running Kitkat and haven't yet upgraded to Lollipop.

Wonder if its the one that came out in September and you just haven't taken it yet? Check the play store for Motorola sensor services. When I first got my phone in October most of the Motorola apps needed to be updated but I needed to find them manually....once you find one just check the others apps from same dev to get them all easier.
Unless this is a new one which I hope it is, would be more exciting

Thanks for the reply.
I just bought the phone couple of days back and have only updated the Moto apps came preloaded and installed my needed apps. Haven't even updated to Lollipop.
How do I know if this one is the Sept update? is there any way to know the version? What is version of the the Sept update?
I am annoyed by the camera autofocus performance during video shooting. Does the Sept update fix that issue? Rest of things are working absolutely fine, I hope the update doesn't break them.
I got this update earlier in the week. There was a big dump of Motorola app updates. I just got my phone a few weeks ago so I don't know if it's a catch-up update or a newer one.
Just found this . As always guys please take this with a grain of salt, who knows if the sources are reliable or not but it's always great to have some hope it's coming sooner rather than later.

The article is full of mistakes so it is unlikely to be true. Considering Samsung's history of delivering late updates we will probably wait forever
Sounds too good to be true, and we all know how that goes
according to this article we already have 5.0.2!! oh wait... we kind of... don't!
5.1 update possible for tmobile edition, but only after they release the note 5. Even than they'll make us wait a few more months because cmon there tmobile and they take forever.

I have high hopes but low expectations. Luckily 5.01 has been running fairly smoothly for me with AT&T. (knock on wood)
