Hi.
I have a Samsung I9000 for one month now and I'm quite satisfied.
Still, I have one complaint. In the last weeks I tried numerous ICS-based ROMs, and some GB-based ROMs (JVU, JW4, JW5). Still, none of them let me focus while video recording, never mind, macro video recording. I saw on youtube a few videos but they were pretty old and filmed with 2.2.1 (Froyo) firmware.
Is it true that Froyo ROM had video touch-to-focus? Why the newer versions don't have it?
Thanks in advance for you answers,
Mike
Come on guys, no one is really interested in the subject?
In my opinion, it is a pretty important matter and I haven't seen a topic where is matter is clearly discussed.

One of the main gripes I have with the Nexus One is the camera quality when compared to other high-end phones, especially video recording.
Now that the official Froyo is out, has anyone seen an improvement in video recording?
I've watched some videos uploaded on Youtube recorded on a Froyo Nexus One, and it looks like the camera has vastly improved in quality.
However, the sound is still very distorted, which leads to my second question: can the sound recording be improved via software or is this a hardware limitation?
Thanks!

It's a software one. You can look for the 720p post in the dev section, the OP mentions the problem in a few posts.
good 2 know, thanks!
Hi People!! i have a question... First of all, i´ve searched all questions and i found nothing about this... I´m noob and I know that my question might be stupid but i have it XD
when I had my Stock ROM I was mazed about the quality of pictures and videos bue, (heres the question) when I installed a Custom ROM this quality got lost... pictures and videos and maybe (Im not sure) games havent got the same quality than before... Is this normal?? Thanks!!
Sorry for my English XD
You missed this Reduced Quality Thread
but it's ok
In Picture Quality if you are using the same application like the Android Gallery(cooliris) in 2.1 then on custom rom(2.2./2.3) it will be the same, because that Gallery downsizes the Images, so quality is reduced.
in Stock 2.1 Album, don't have that problem, or in custom roms, try to install Quick Pic. Quality will still be the same.
but of course can't compare Picture Quality from a computer to our X8(limited to 65k colors)
About Video's i never noticed the quality in 2.1 or in custom roms, I use Mobo Player, which can play all kinds of formats too. although i still use 720x480 mp4 for my video's if i decode them.
about Gaming 2D or 3D, yes this is very noticeable and really depends on what ROM you are using. I use FroyoBread during the early versions 2D/3D is not yet fixed so quality is reduced and can some Gradients/Pixels.
But FroyoBread reached its Final Version and 2D/3D is Great
Thank you!! I got seek, thats why i dindt thank you before...
Hello everybody!
Maybe it is not of much use.
Reading on this forum, I was not sure about the quality of the camera of the LG p990.
But then the other day I had the chance to put the device in an extreme condition, and I must say, the audio and the video full HD is pretty good.
Considering as well the luck of volume and focus control!
The LG is rooted but with its stock rom froyo v. 10d
I cannot post the link so if you want search on you tube aerdna3691 there is only this video.
Hi All,
I have a Note N-7000. I got it just a few weeks before ICS roll out. The Camera behaves weird and now its not the same as it was in 2.3.
daylight photos are okay but low light photos are really thumbs down and a lot of Red-Eye.
I still have photos before and after update and I can see quality of photos degrading after that!!!
Is Every1 having similar opinions or do I need any other settings to better the quality of photos??
Need you opinion...
Camera on ICS AND JellyBean is Better than on GingerbREAD
I still feel that camera quality has degraded in ICS..is your note also a GT N-7000??
Everyones note there is a GT-N7000....would be really weird if the folks who use the american Note were hanging out here.....
But no, I've not noticed it and the camera in the JellyCore ROM (JellyBean rom) is better than the GB one

Personally i found the camera on cm9 based roms disappointing .. Sure its faster but quality is not as same as tw based roms.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using free xda app-developers app for poor people

We'll my brother has the I717 and comparing my N7000 to his, I'd say the cam resolution is much more cleaner and sharp as compared to mine.. Though I can't say if this is ROM related or so.... he has CM10 installed and I have the (self modified) LRQ one. Not that it matters though.
exactly the same thing I observed that the indian note camera's quality's degraded than thew others..I see a lot of red-eye too when i use flash..is there any setting for removing that or any update or something that would better the quality..??
Anybody here found solution for the dark videos ?
Tried many roms on XDA stock roms CM/ AOSP based roms with stock camera. And still the videos recorded with that phone in low light are crap.
I just want brighter video no matter if some of the quality will be gone or the res will be lower. :silly: :good:
i did found only 1 mod which is for the ICS 10F i think it was... "V5 camera mod or smth like that" here on the XDA.
