Wanted to know if its possible to change the colour of the soft keys, seeing as they are just LEDS it should be possible surely?
Cheers
Thats not possible without HW modding, even then I'm not sure it would work.
Hmm shame

LEDs aren't always RGB. doubt Samsung would use those for simple soft keys, seeing as they haven't even added a notification LED...
Would love to see them RGB, though, for different notifications .
How would we go about finding out if they were RGB or not? Surely its been written down somewhere ...

Service manual/electrical manual thingie (forgot the name )?
Don't think they are though, or the kernel devs would've found it/Samsung would've said it/Samsung would've done something...
OK I'm doing this on behalf of a friend so will tell him to try and find out from his manuals and fingers crossed he will find out

I think it's impossible. If the soft keys use RBG leds, Samsung would have something to say about it, when sell I9000.

Hej, i use more than one Android and on other, search is at left & menu at right, it always make me confuse so i wonder : Is there a way to invert them? Other question : When we'll use ICS on the Note, will there be choice to have either capacitive, virtual button, or both? Or will still have to use capacitive?
No man there is no way of inverting the buttons. What you ask requires some extreme code editing in kernal side which might even brick your device.Officaial ICS release date is not specified till now by samsung. You can check custom roms and leaked ICS if you want to try it.What do you mean by virtual buttons? All the buttons below the screen are capacitive touch buttons except the physical home button
What i meant by virtual button is just buttons in screen like on galaxt nexus.

It is very easy to do, in a similar way to how I remapped hardware keys. See here:

In ICS THE WILL BE A CHOICE REGARDING CAPACITIVE OR VIRTUAL BUTTONS AT LEAST THROUGH A HACK AS E ALREADY HAVE THAT CHOICE ON THE BETAS.
Sent from my superior GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
I saw that in some roms on various devices like Galaxy Mini, and I would like to ask you are there any way to have it on MiniCM9?
What's the point? You already have buttons and they will only take up screen space. It will just make the screen look smaller.
Dunno why, but i like them. Plus I tried them on my friend's galaxy mini and they looked cool and they would be pretty useful for me because my hardware buttons were crappy.
It is impossible to actually add new software buttons to the phone but this app might do thhe trick for ya https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey
Thank me if i helped

That is because the hardware is compatible and the screen to. Our screen is just not abld to do that (correct me if im wrong)

It is possible. Its like a software or app. Any phone could have this with ICS even like hmm. hTC Tattoo. The screen does need something special to have them

Our hardware is not capable but the Galaxy MINI's hardware is capable? Its strange if its true... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe1oesBIDm4&feature=related
I think its totally useless because of our phones screen size. Thoose buttons would took too much space. If your hardware buttons are broken use Button savior from market.
They would look cool, but they're pretty useless for our device!
OK I have a modded Verizon galaxy nexus with 4.0.4,in tab mode. Every thing is customized ,except one thing....with that said, I bring you to my question. Can you make a call button for the navigation menu,. My reason for that is there are two menus one on screen and the other on the navigation bar.a standard call button on that bar would make more space thus elements the on screen menu bar altogether. CAN U DO IT. send answers to [email protected] thanks.

Hi,
Today when i check my phone the display was not filling the entire screen. there seems to be a black border.. .i.e the display is 1 mm shorter than the actual screen size.... i dont think it was there before today... but may be i dint notice...
can u guys confirm if u too have the same kinda display ?
erhm,yes,same here.
So, we cause a triple murder before breakfast, start a race war before dinner - that's uh, that's a pretty good day.
Are you getting this in all the apps and even on the homescreen as well? If your not getting it.. then I would suffice that it is just that app that your running now that might not be optimized completely on the screen grids/borders of your Note.
Now if your getting this as well in all of your apps including the homescreen/lockscreen.. My second question then would be... are you on stock ICS ROM or on a custom one?
Some custom ROMS have some light blue border that is faintly visible when your trying to look at it. Nothing of a big deal though (to me in particular) as I know this is just a ROM (and therefore a software) issue and not on the hardware one (which would give me much more of a headache if that really happens)

My phone's diaplay has turned pink. But when I press the home button to open task manager then the area behind recent apps dialog box becomes as it should be.
So please anyone could tell me if it could be repaired or the screen is to be changed!
Thanks in advance
Hmmm. This is interesting.
Did this just suddenly happen or did something happen to it, eg. Did you flash a rom/kernel or did to get submerged in water etc
If it did get submerged in water, its likely a hardware fault
Try flash in Sempahore GB, that has Voodoo colour, and see if that changes anything - if not, its likely a hardware fault

Follow what @Soryuu said to do. In my opinion, if this is a hardware issue (display to be changed), then you better buy a used phone as it costs equal to the display. Or you may use it as your secondary phone and buy a new quad core phone
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Maybe a hardware issue like that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529205
but if there's something wrong with the display then why the area behind the recent dialog box ok

That's probably why - when you reassembled the phone you must have also done something to the screen digitiser without realising.

Check that the display flex cable is properly seated. Or see if you can tune it out with colour calibration.

Try to clean the screen connectors or try with another display.
Good luck

sorry, but how to do that?
i just installed the app and then just adjusted the brightness accordingly
What ROM are you using? Most ROMs for i9000 have colour adjustment built into settings.

Same setting point in CM 10.x
In CM 11 it is called "color calibration" under "Other device options"
thanks

Scenario: on call with any service center, they ask u to press bunch of keys according to which department u r trying to reach.
In my case when I'm in call, I can press the keys on on-screen keyboard and they take effect as required, however I don't see what key I've actually pressed.
Is this common issue for everyone? It's not big of a deal only thing is I need to be very sure what exactly I'm typing even then I would like to fix it, if fix is out there.
I'm guessing it will be fixed with custom Rom or an update so I'm not worrying too much (but that seems bit far fetched - due to bootloader camera issue )

Well I've installed bunch of launchers and widgets, few games. I don't recall installing something along the lines of "screen adjuster". Is there a way to find app responsible? Or do I have to uninstall one app at a time and try?
