r u rooted. if so go for sd ext partition.
the other way is to apply blackrose and resize ur partition(but it requires some reading before doing)

Thanks.
But, what's the best? I already used some changes on partition and got the system reall slow...
Any down side on that?
Thanks.

wat changes hv u done?

If your phone is rooted..then depending on the ROM, it's possible to increase the internal memory...for instant with blackrose you can resize the phones partition...what ROM are you using anyway?

I tried a extension from the Oxygen ROM, that used data2sd, it worked but the phone became really really small, so I removed.

Yes, I'm root, I'm rooted, I'm using the Oxygen rom.

I'm going to try that blackrose, see if it works. Going to search for some tutorials.
Thanks

No luck using Blackrose, I think I can only change the internal partition, like the internal 512mb, I want to use my SD to the apps.
I was unable to create a big system partition, like 1000mb (1gb)

You should read the BlackRose thread some more. 1 Hint:
Code:
SYSTEM + CACHE + USERDATA = 436MB

Yeah, I understood that. But I want to Increase it, don't resize. With BlackRose I was only able to resize in 436mb, not increase it

From the BlackRose OP:
FEATURE
Security OFF
None padlock mark even unlocked
Password protection
Engineering command
BlackRose custom command
Change boot logo
Resize Partition
Select menu by pressing trackball
Switch vibration at boot
CRC32 check function
Prevent overwrite HBOOT by RUU
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
You can only resize partitions. For increasing you should use an A2SD-variant.

Thanks, got it. Understood.
Any tips on it? What app, util, should I use?

I don't use A2SD (or any other variant), but I believe there are some threads about it floating around somewhere. Please search

hv u partitioned ur sd with 1gb ext4?
u can find some info in this thread

Thank you guys. I tried the Darktremor and did not work.
I need to check this partition thing first, I thought I did it right, but no luck.
The problem right now is when I start the Android all my programs are gone, like the system is Wiped
Yes, I made a backup first, but no luck. I think this is right, I will need to start again.

This should be good
Sounds good... waiting
Have any of you seen "will it blend?"
Well. If you have (if you haven't then watch it)
Will it boot? That is the question...
gonna keep watching it then.
So i saw the other thread and it says the ROM supports EXT4? So we can have a Data2SD Ext4? Coz i cant for the love of god make the ext3 work for some reason
That's sonethijng we have to test out. What's up with your ext3?
Sent from my HTC Salsa C510e using Tapatalk
Dont know, after flashing the Rom when i flash the data script it dsnt boot into, just stops at the HTC logo.
Even if it does boot by some luck, after restoring an app or two and then restarting it gets stuck again.
So im using the ext 2 for the moment
when you say it doesn't boot....i hope you haven't flashed the rom then flashed the data2sdext3 script straight after have?
No i boot it once or twice to make sure everything's fine
ok, how did you make the ext partition? in cwm recovery or using an sd reader and mini tool partition wizard?
first i make the partition in cwm then i convert it to ext 3 with mini tool partition wizard

Instructions.
0) Backup first
1) Delete everything using minitool.
2) In recovery go Advanced -> Partition SD Card -> 0MB Swap -> 1024MB EXT
3) Get data back
4) Install data2sd over a NEW ROM. It doesn't normally work if you boot it.

theres your problem right there....cwm
ok wipe the sd. reformat the whole thing in fat32 via minitool
adjust the fat32 in minitool to the size you want available for ext3
format the ext3 partition in minitool and make this a primary drive not logical.
only create partition in cwm if expressly told to.
something to do with cwm creating the partitions cause the phone not to boot or go into boot-loop
our data2sdetx3 script will only work this way...strange thing lol.
Ive tried everyway possible when we got these roms and this was the only way it would work
then boot rom up, if it dont boot, wipe data/cache and re-flash the rom, boot up, the reboot into cwm once first boot complete to flash the data2sdext3
I tried that like 10 times, guess il just wait for ext 4 if it ever comes
EDIT: Will try like that Bear
I am uploading it now.. I can't promise it will even logcat but I hope that it boots and runs smoothly.

[GUIDE] Partitioning your SD Card to use swap and or lin2sd :)

There is probably a guide for this already, but if there is, it is deep, deep down
What we will need:
Some way to connect the SD Card to the PC (using the phone USB with storage mode on is fine)
Minitool partition wizard - http://partitionwizard.com - the home edition is fine for this.
The steps:
Connect the SD card to the computer
Launch minitool
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Select your SD Card MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SELECT YOUR HARD DRIVE!
On the left, there will be an option to Resize the drive. Select this and resize as necessary (If you have a 6GB drive, and want a 1GB ext2, resize it to 5GB).
Do the same again for a swap partition.
Check the operations on the left bar, to make sure you are happy with them and click 'Apply'.
Wait for it to complete. DONE! Eject you sdcard, and put it back into your phone. You can now download an app like link2sd to use it, or use swap
NOTE: I am in no way responsible if your data goes missing!
NOTE2: Not all ROM's have swap support. Most (if not all) CM rom's now do, however, you may need the 07swapon script. Please check my post to get that

I think you or anyone could make a tutorial about how to build up a system (not a kernel, but just a e.g. cm7, cm9, aokp, aosp), in order to make our developer thread much more colorful. Just an idea...
To build from source it builds both system and kernel...

So how is link2sd and clockwormod recovery backup?
When I have ext2/3/4 secondary partition and create backup, than do files and linked stuff go to sd-ext? After restore will there be working linking during boot? And what happens when the secondary partition is fat32?

When you backup with CWM, as long as the ROM you are using mounts the /sd-ext.
When the backup file is made, the sd-ext file contains all the symlinks, so yes, backups work (I have made it loads of times).

[Q] CM7 + 2ndboot + Swapper2

Hello guys, I just installed the new CM7 to test 2ndboot. I enabled Compcache RAM to 26% and also installed swapper2 but when I turn it on it says "can't start '/dev/block/mmcblk0p3': No such file or directory".
Can someone help me please?
Did you create a swap paritition on your SD card?
I disabled compcache and made third partition on my SD-card. Filesystem is Linux Swap. In Swapper2 i choose Settings - Advanced Preferences - Use swap partition. Swap partition - /dev/block/mmcblk0p3. It works for me.
Open your terminal and type "free" for testing:

Check the settings of Swapper2 - if you don't have a swap partition, make sure that it's not trying to use it. You should be able to have it use the FAT or ext partition.

It looks like you are still trying to use a swap partition. Go to Settings -> Advanced Preferences, and make sure the "Use Swap Partition" is unchecked. The go to Swap -> Create, to create the new swap file, and then hit the ON button.
Right, I unchecked this option and now I can see the file inside my SD. I rebooted the phone, how can I confirm that it's working?
Thanks for help!

You can use Computer Management section if You run Windows OS.
You can delete partitions there. I always use it.

Hi SzalonyKronicarz!
If the SD partition is ext2/ext3/ext4 Windows OS will not see it.
Though, Windows OS computer management section is useful for FAT/FAT32/NTFS partitions.
Good luck.

I can't agree with You.
It works just fine for deleting partitions.
Windows may not use this type of partitions but can see and delete.
Actually I don't have any english version of Windows but I'd like to show You that I am right:
You can see, that partitons exist.
It says "Zdrowy,nieznana partycja" - english: healthy - unknown partition.
You can also see "Usuń partycję" - english: delete partition.
Both partitions were created under CWM Recovery.

i haven't used swapper, but if you're going to use a swap file, you don't need a swap partition.
The message shows ext partition is supported & you don't have ext partition ...
About swap, if you're noob use other apps to create swap file(instead of partition)(apps like ram expander {not sure about the name}
Creating swap file with Swapper needs a lot of hard work, so forget it
#set swappiness to 40 or 60 for gaming otherwise 10 - 20 is enough
