There is probably a guide for this already, but if there is, it is deep, deep down
What we will need:
Some way to connect the SD Card to the PC (using the phone USB with storage mode on is fine)
Minitool partition wizard - http://partitionwizard.com - the home edition is fine for this.
The steps:
Connect the SD card to the computer
Launch minitool

Select your SD Card MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT SELECT YOUR HARD DRIVE!
On the left, there will be an option to Resize the drive. Select this and resize as necessary (If you have a 6GB drive, and want a 1GB ext2, resize it to 5GB).
Do the same again for a swap partition.
Check the operations on the left bar, to make sure you are happy with them and click 'Apply'.
Wait for it to complete. DONE! Eject you sdcard, and put it back into your phone. You can now download an app like link2sd to use it, or use swap
NOTE: I am in no way responsible if your data goes missing!
NOTE2: Not all ROM's have swap support. Most (if not all) CM rom's now do, however, you may need the 07swapon script. Please check my post to get that

I think you or anyone could make a tutorial about how to build up a system (not a kernel, but just a e.g. cm7, cm9, aokp, aosp), in order to make our developer thread much more colorful. Just an idea...
To build from source it builds both system and kernel...

So how is link2sd and clockwormod recovery backup?
When I have ext2/3/4 secondary partition and create backup, than do files and linked stuff go to sd-ext? After restore will there be working linking during boot? And what happens when the secondary partition is fat32?

When you backup with CWM, as long as the ROM you are using mounts the /sd-ext.
When the backup file is made, the sd-ext file contains all the symlinks, so yes, backups work (I have made it loads of times).

To those of you annoyed that the Rom and CyanogenMod MIUI memories are mounted differently than the stock rom based? well, with this patch you will not have worries after her recovery, you will find the flash memory under mnt / sdcard and external sd mounted under mnt / sdcard / _externalsd just like the stock rom!
the patch has been tested by me on build 195,196,197,198 and did not have any problem
changelog:
v1.0
made 100% compatible with any build cm7 and MIUI
v0.2
improved compatibility
v0.1

how to install the patch? simple, just flash with ClockworkMod!!
Before flashing make sure the patch folder /mnt/sdcard is present _ExternalSD

;D true hehe
The patch that I designed with the intention of playing as memories of mounting in the stock rom.
reading here on the forum I noticed that there is a debate which was attributed to each build a patch with the buil.prop different, then I have tried to create a patch instead of replacing the build.prop only changes in the present Rom, so there is a universal patch that works on old builds and builds future, think about the loss of data that the risk is comparable to that of the stock rom almost non-existent or very low, otherwise it would be so even on stocks
Mine is clearly a point of view, but I can not say for sure having never lost any data
and no matter what I think the end is better than a patch Universal already seen is not universal
Greetings to all

That u say it's not possible. This zip can't delete files, nor partitions.
Try give us more info about your situation
Did you create the _ExternalSD folder in /mnt/sdcard before using this zip?
If not, reflash the cyanogenmod rom, create that folder and flash again the Oiza's zip.
It is possible, doing this may result in data loss, I mentioned it earlier.

Everything's possible, but what i wanna understand is "how is it possible to have a datalost in an operation where there is only a changing of mounting point?
In these cases there is often a way back to original situation.
I wonder if data can be deleted by this operation but I'd be very grateful if you could give me some 'of your time to explain this or tell me about some good links.

No luck using Blackrose, I think I can only change the internal partition, like the internal 512mb, I want to use my SD to the apps.
I was unable to create a big system partition, like 1000mb (1gb)

You can only resize partitions. For increasing you should use an A2SD-variant.

Hello.
Why my internal memory is low (56 mb) but all my aps is linked to SD on a ext4 partition with Link2Sd ?
Where is the problem?
I cleaned and relinked everything and memory still low
Till yasterday my memory was ~110 mb. Maybe Juice defender ultimate is the problem? Is my last installed app.

I encountered this problem once and switched using "INT2EXT4+" instead, you don't have to manually move stuff with that script and I havent noticed any problem with it.
Use titanium backup to backup all your apps if you're not already using it.

how to use INT2EXT4+ ?
I don't have an app like Link2SD.
Try going to data/local with a root explorer and delete .apk files in there. Link2sd sometimes makes a copy when linking apps and they end up in there, just taking up internal space.

The tutorial is in the link. It makes the phone have more "internal" storage (using the space from the SD card) so all you gotto do is to install apps and they will work as they usually do. You have to partition your SD-card, just search "partition SD card xda" on google and ull find a tutorial for that.

yeah because some ROM already have script sdext u must remove it before using amarulz script..
use rootexplorer go to system>etc>init.d
When you link apps to sd-ext, the data from all those applications still stay on internal memory. Those consumes a lot of space. Better try moving movable applications to sd card.
Even I also faced the same problem on an earlier ROM. Didn't find a solution though.
Hello guys, I just installed the new CM7 to test 2ndboot. I enabled Compcache RAM to 26% and also installed swapper2 but when I turn it on it says "can't start '/dev/block/mmcblk0p3': No such file or directory".
Can someone help me please?
Did you create a swap paritition on your SD card?
I disabled compcache and made third partition on my SD-card. Filesystem is Linux Swap. In Swapper2 i choose Settings - Advanced Preferences - Use swap partition. Swap partition - /dev/block/mmcblk0p3. It works for me.

Check the settings of Swapper2 - if you don't have a swap partition, make sure that it's not trying to use it. You should be able to have it use the FAT or ext partition.

It looks like you are still trying to use a swap partition. Go to Settings -> Advanced Preferences, and make sure the "Use Swap Partition" is unchecked. The go to Swap -> Create, to create the new swap file, and then hit the ON button.

Though, Windows OS computer management section is useful for FAT/FAT32/NTFS partitions.

I can't agree with You.
It works just fine for deleting partitions.
Windows may not use this type of partitions but can see and delete.
Actually I don't have any english version of Windows but I'd like to show You that I am right:
You can see, that partitons exist.
It says "Zdrowy, nieznana partycja" - english: healthy - unknown partition.
You can also see "Usuń partycję" - english: delete partition.
Both partitions were created under CWM Recovery.
