I'm running De-Sensed 0.7 and running Kozmik beta 4a
i updated my phone to 0.7 the day it was released and since yesterday or the day before my phones touch screen becomes unresponsive at random times...
my phone is set to 1.2GHz peak and 384MHz for standby
any thoughts on what the problem might be or is anyone else experiencing this problem??
RoGeRs
I posted a thread about this last week. I have kozmikkernal and rumfloat and I also experience this issue. I believe the problem lies in the kernal.
i also had this problem using kozmik kernel rc1, only on the lockscreen though.
i started using Holics rom with kozmik kernel last night and havent had the problem since.

kozmik, any idea about the unresponsive touch screen issue? it does seem to only happen on the lock screen, I've tried stock and widget locker unlocker?

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. Every once in awhile my cappy reboots straight to the boot ani. Wondering if it isn't the kernel. Still I love this rom anyone else having the same issue?

It's the kernel I've seen people post about reboots
What you are experiencing is called a "hot reboot" the phone itself doesn't reboot just the os.
+1
I'm having issues all over the place - hot reboot is one of about 5 or 6 I've noticed on the last couple of days. Just flashed v5 from v2.3 and I'll be going back ASAP.
Thanks studacris. I thought maybe I did something wrong. No way im going back though. Gb on the cappy is great. Again thanks to all.

I had the same issue before. I wiped user data and rebooted. That seemed to fix the issue. I figure when in doubt...clear and reboot.

What other problems are you having? I'm running Beta 3 as well (I missed when they put up the download link for RC1, now I have to wait until they fix whatever problems there are with it.) and I'm not having any issues whatsoever. Battery life is great as well, which was my only real gripe with CM7.
I was on RC3 and now 5.1, and I haven't had any such problems. I was running another ROM (not Continuum, which I will not name) before, which suffered from terrible sleep death. About every other day, it would not wake up from sleep at all. I had to pull the battery to get it to work again. I have had NO such problems with Continuum at all.
Oops. Posted too soon. Continuum 5.1 was extremely laggy. Tap something and the screen blanks out before the app comes up. That's bad lag. Also, it completely crashed on me about 4 times in a couple of hours.
I just flashed 5.2, and it seems to be better. However, icezar1 says the problem was with TW4, but I'm using Launcher Pro. I hope these problems don't persist.
Well, 5.2 was almost as bad as 5.1. I installed the previous version of the kernel (Talon 0.1.4) and all was well. Some kind of high memory freeing something or other. Then today Cezar released 5.3 which is even better. This is a great ROM.

Is anyone having problems with setcpu? My phone kept locking up in me forcing me to pull battery several times a day. Got rid of setcpu and haven't had a problem since. Now using NoFrills CPU controller and no problems what so ever. I can only come to the conclusion setcpu was causing problems. I've used it on a couple other phones with no problems but it just wasn't playing nice with the Thrill or some combination of apps.

I have it on my Thrill, but I don't have a custom Kernel so I can't OC it. Where did you get an overclockable kernel for it?

I am actually having the same exact issue. My phone will freeze throughout the day maybe 2 or 3 times. I just hold the power til the phone shuts off. I am still running set cpu and just dealing with the freezes. I had setcpu on my inspire with no problems. Maybe its just the phone?

I have setcpu running. I've had a couple of slight issues but not what you're describing. I've noticed that my market will suddenly say no connect (or however it's worded) even though I have bars or wifi on. And there are times when I got to turn wifi off or on and it will just stay at the wifi turning off/on until I reboot it.
I also noticed extended controls is starting to forceclose a lot.
Day 2 with NoFrills and still not a single issue...

I believe the problems comes from setting the speeds too slow.
Only happens to me when I change the speed down to lowest when screen is off. Phone will lock up after it gets into Deep Sleep. After increasing the speed a bit, SetCPU has no problems for me

That's probably what it was then. Underclocking with nofrills hasn't reproduced the problem yet. I also used nofrill to change the I/O scheduler to though so that might be part of what fixed it. I'm gonna try setting CPU profiles with tasker and see what happens.

Generally, it should be safe to overclock it by about 20%
I've fade mine at 1.2 ghz for a while and it's fine
I have it at 1.1 now for battery saving
There are many people who are done at 1.5+
I wouldn't cos I'm scared I will fry my phone or something
My advice would just be don't be stupid with it but it should be safe to overclock it a little.
Thanks even i was worried about frying my phone

what programs/apps are you using that you want to OC it?

Since virtuous quattro has the virtuous daemon, I use that. There's an apparently called oc/uv beater2 for controlling the virtuous daemon, it allows you to make diffeeeent profiles for different situations
Is there any solution to this problem?
touch buttons illuminated, screen back light on but screen wont wake up, stays black, so i have to remove the battery.

Try to reflash rom. Shouldn't have such issues on Temasek at all.

i think it's a rom problem,i face it when i'm on that build, but now i change to gueste.. and everything works, try to change kernel.. or rom..
I also had this problem on Parandroid CM10, no sign of life from the phone at all.
However, I reflashed the rom and now it works great.
Ok rom issue then. I will reflash it with a different one and kernel. Any kernel recomendations?

Happened to me on gueste2x v3.8 last night while I was USB tethering...and I was just pushing for a record time running made it to 160 hours and had to pull battery out to get it working again. As mentioned already, it's probably something to do about background data/wifi activity.
Nevertheless, I still recommend gueste2x v3.8  Give it a try

Can some one drop link for another kernel i can even do anything it just restarting
Onejay09 what wifi driver do you use? The one from caf or stuck for runnymede? If it is caf, then something like bcmhd_google =y should be in the defconfig. I need to know before i can test it as they do not use the same wifi binaries

Okay my response after a few hours:
Wifi range is awesome
Wifi Connect while phone looked only works with advanced wifi lock APP
Battery life isnt as good as Cyanogenmod1.3.7 kernel
No reboots, no force closes nothing
The phone is smoother and faster with this kernel i think
Didn't found ans bugs or problems

Thanks for the feedback, I'm wondering if the people getting reboots are setting the min CPU frequency to 145mhz?
The WiFi binaries are in the zip anders

Without changing CPU settings are you still getting reboots?
I can't reproduce the issues, are you using cm10.1? Because the ramdisk might need changing for other roms

The wifi binaries is not included, the files that are included is the modules which is normally correct. But when we changed the wifi driver, we also changed 3 files in /system/etc/firmware , the files i have is called fw_bcmdhd.bin and so on, that is for the caf wifi driver, and the one we had before was fw_bcm4330.bin as i remember

Okay so i flashed it, and i can see i need the old binaries again. You dont use same wifi driver as we have in the other kernel cant turn it on on the new binaries. Also something was wierd, default cpu freq was 1050 mhz? Normally runnymede uses 1487 mhz as default still testing it.
